27 No Time to Rest

*whiiiiiIIIIIRRRRRR*

I looked up and saw a squadron of fighters fly over us. It had now been over three hours since we crashed and they finally arrived to help us. They better have been getting fucked up in space or I'll be pissed.

Then again, the reason they haven't found us might be because the long range communications antennae was severely damaged. However, I had no idea why this mattered since there should be a crash beacon on the cruiser. There was a crash beacon on the cruiser, right?

As the fighter squadron flew overhead, another fighter came down nearby, landing in the middle of our FOB. The engineers designated a landing zone (LZ) since that is a standard for any base. The reason for this regulation was being displayed right now.

During the course, we had been given a few small things to review on our own. These things included military ranks, hardware and their specs, and the various specialists. Aside from the hardware specs, we needed to know everything in order to be successful.

This information allowed me to recognize this fighter as a Jedi starfighter. As it landed, I watched the canopy slide back, revealing the Jedi inside. Oh, how I wish Jedi weren't basically celibate because who was in the cockpit?

Satele Shan. God, the rack on that Jedi. Maybe I could show her my lightsaber some time. It has been a while since I got laid.

On second thought, that's a damn horrible idea. This woman… no, this person is one of the most powerful people in the galaxy and is set to lead a crusade against the Sith following this war. If I tried to make a move, I would wish that the thing I'd lost was my life.

Satele climbed out of the cockpit, her curves showing in all of their glory. She looked around, eyes scanning the crowd of troopers observing her. "Where is Commander Ulysses?"

I noticed a few of the other captains getting restless as if they were trying to steal the glory. Since the command tent was close to the LZ, I rushed over, not giving those captains even a sliver of an opportunity.

I stood at attention before Satele. "Commander Ulysses died in the crash."

She looked at me. "What's your name, trooper?"

I nodded. "Captain Soryn Brenko, ma'am."

She smiled. "I heard about you from the general. Who was in command here? I need a full report."

I was about to speak but one of the other captains couldn't resist and came forward. "We all played a part in this, Master Jedi. When the cruiser cam…"

I coughed and laughed, nearly falling over because I thought this idiot was hilarious. "Captain Baruch, look around you. Do you think anyone is going to support your story?"

He cleared his throat and quickly glanced around. His proud expression quickly turned into a grimace as he realized that this was a major blunder. He didn't speak anymore.

I looked back towards Satele and noticed that she was smirking. "Master Jedi, it was me who took command. I was informed that I was next in line due to my imminent promotion and performed to the best of my abilities."

Continuing on, I told her the entire story starting from the moment I woke up, all the way until we pushed off a large group of Imperial troopers led by two Sith. By the end, she was wearing a warm smile and nodded in approval.

She chuckled and pressed a button on her wrist comm. "Tell Timo that it's happening sooner than he thought."

Satele then turned off the comm and looked at me. "Congratulations on your promotion, Commander Brenko."

My face lit up, I was genuinely excited. This, without a doubt, put me at the most powerful player in the game! There are so many opportunities that I might be able to get access to that no one else could! "Thank you, ma'am."

Satele nodded and then looked around. "These men, I can feel their admiration and loyalty towards you. It comes from almost every one of them." She then glared at Captain Baruch, before looking behind her.

*VRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*

A formation of large low altitude transports landed on the outskirts of our FOB. There were even some armor carriers that accompanied them.

Satele looked back at me. "Get everyone loaded up, Commander. These transports will take you to the eastern theater where you'll fight alongside myself and another Jedi Knight. This is also where Havoc squad is right now. Jace is excited to meet you."

I nodded, saluting the Jedi. "Yes, ma'am. I'll get on it immediately."

Satele waved, turned around, and hopped back into her fighter. The canopy closed and the fighter took off immediately.

I turned around and started dishing out my orders. Within the next 15 minutes, I wanted every trooper, functioning armor piece, and crate of suppliers loaded onto these transports.

-GE-

About an hour passed since then. The ride over to the eastern theater was quite short. It turns out that we didn't crash too far from the actual LZ. I guess the captain of that cruiser was really committed to finishing his job.

By now, we were almost completely unloaded from the transports. In another hour, we'd be moving out since that is how long it would take to finish repairs on the armor column. They also needed to be refueled but that couldn't be done until a fuel tank was brought over from the other theater.

Suddenly, a trooper rushed up to me while I was observing the preparations. "Commander, General Shan has requested your presence."

I turned towards the woman that was relaying these orders and nodded. "Very well. Boro, can you take over from here?"

Boro nodded and saluted me. "Yes, sir."

I smiled and then left, following the trooper back to the command tent. It was a quick one minute walk before the boobacious Jedi was in view again.

Satele noticed my presence and looked towards me. "Commander, we have a situation."

I nodded, coming up to the table. "Yes, general?

She pointed at a spot on the holomap in front of her that had a pattern of red and blue dots. "Havoc squad has been engaged by Imperial forces. There are too many Sith and they are losing the battle. We need to assist them."

I nodded, getting excited. I knew this scene all too well. "Very well. I'll get everyone ready. Unfortunately, we'll have to leave the armor behind."

Satele nodded. "That's fine. It's a densely forested area so the armor would be useless."

I sighed upon being reminded of that detail. "That makes this more complicated with all the Sith they have there. Regardless, let's move out in 10?"

She nodded. "Sounds good. My squad will be ready."
