Alderaan

"Next"

I walked up to the counter, ready to get my gear. "Hi."

The clerk looked up with an irritated expression. "Name and rank?"

I nodded. "Captain Soryn Brenko."

The man didn't even acknowledge that he heard me. He just looked down and started shuffling through a box. He then pulled out a small card that was transparent. "This is your military identification. Keep it on you at all times and if you lose it, report it immediately." He placed a datapad on the counter. There was a stylus attached to it. "Sign this."

I sighed, grabbing the stylus and putting my signature on the form. He then took the datapad back and picked up another data pad. "Blaster rifle or pistols?"

I thought for a moment and then nodded. "Pistols, please. Wait, can I get a rifle too?"

The clerk shrugged. "Sure. I'll be back." He then turned and left the desk.

I stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for him to get all of my gear. It gave me a lot of time to think. I then realized something. I never asked my dad if he was alright with me putting him in my legion. Would he be mad?

Then again, how could he be mad. Galen is the definition of free content. His stream will love that adventurous idiot. That was my money back guarantee. Regardless, I am probably the best new officer among the graduates with how I was the only one who scored perfectly.

Another question entered my mind. How would the operation on Alderaan work? Aren't we supposed to be up against an army of Sith? What was one Jedi going to do against that? At least I doubted that there would be more than one Sith Lord. A regular Sith warrior or acolyte wasn't that much of a threat to an experienced soldier, which there were plenty of here. I'm sure some of the elites have specifically been trained on how to fight against a Sith.

I hoped that the good general put a few of those in my legion. If not, we could be fucked. If we ran into a rogue squad of Sith, regardless of how strong they are, a force enhanced individual could still wreak havoc among normal men.

While my train of thought had almost made it through an entire continent, the clerk returned. "Here's your gear." He dumped it on the counter and then placed another datapad with a stylus. "Sign here for the requisition."

I nodded, leaving my signature on the line. I then picked up my gear and then left. The guy probably didn't want to talk so I wouldn't waste my time with him. His loss.

As I walked away from the armory, a voice came over the speakers that were planted on the light poles dotting the base. "All officers report to hangar 1 in T-10. I repeat, all officers report to hangar 1 in T-10."

I sighed, looking down at the massive bag of gear that I had yet to put on. This felt a bit rushed. I presumed that they would want us in uniform before this meeting. Looking around, I tried to figure out where I could change into my armor.

Quickly, I noticed a temporary quarters tent set up in between each of the hangars. I noticed that one side had quarters for women, and the other for men. There were also one or two that were labeled "other", but those didn't apply to me. It was nice to see that the developers forced that in there since I knew for a fact that there wasn't anything regarding gender acceptance in the Star Wars universe.

I was currently standing in front of a full body mirror, admiring my equipment. The armor was very similar to the armor that clones wore in the Clone Wars. Extremely similar actually. The colors were a clean white with various geometry on it that didn't really appear to add any function through their form.

A heavy duty utility belt was strapped around my waist, over my breast plate that extended down under my crotch. It clipped together with the back piece to remain firmly in place.

I had a super high tech wrist communicator with a lot of programmable buttons and an additional utility belt that wrapped around my chest diagonally. This belt was where my blaster rifle was attached. On either side of my waist, there were also pistol holsters that held my blaster pistols.

My shoulders had a pad that was on my shoulder on one side, and then going straight out on the other to indicate my officer status. Lastly, my helmet looked almost the exact same as an ARC trooper helmet and it had an officer visor with built-in scopes. While the main color of all the gear was white, the accents were a deep gray.

I was satisfied with the armor. It looked quite intimidating and was surprisingly comfortable. I had full range of motion as I did some quick stretches to see how it would impact my ability.

With all of that on, I walked up to a droid outside, scanned my ID, and left my bag of on person belongings with it. "Take these to lock up please." The droid then sped off.

Now, I had to rush to the officer meeting. I was able to quickly find hangar 1 because of the simple layout. Getting inside, I noticed that I was getting there just on time. There were still a few less people than I expected but it made sense. Those people were probably still getting their equipment and getting dressed.

It was there, standing next to Timo, that I saw what was probably the most beautiful Jedi I had ever seen. She had a perfectly feminine face and short dark brown hair. Her eyes were a color I couldn't describe but they were heavenly. Covering her voluptuous curves was a leather vest with gold trim.

I almost paused when I noticed her but fortunately avoided it to not be embarrassed in front of my peers. Once I arrived, Timo smiled and nodded at me.

Timo clapped his hands, getting everyone's attention. "Good afternoon, officers. While I will not be going on this operation with you, I shall be helping with the planning." He gestured to the Jedi next to him. "This is Jedi Knight Satele Shan. She will be leading this operation in conjunction with Captain Jace Malcom. While the captain isn't going to be the highest ranking officer there, he is the most capable one in probably the entire army so I expect that you will listen to his orders. He has also been fighting on the ground since the Empire arrived."

"Moving on…" He pressed a button on the table in front of him and a hologram of Alderaan popped up. Surrounding the planet was a blockade of Sith warships and several key locations were marked in red on the surface. "This is the situation."

"It's not looking too hot at the moment. It is crucial that the reinforcements get there fast and hit them hard. The Empire's forces currently hold the Alderaan royal family hostage and have their eyes on the capital. We can not let Alderaan fall. It is a crucial rest point for our troops moving to and from the outer rim."

"This data will be shared with you and can be downloaded to a datapad from your comm. This information is for officer eyes only and should not be shared with anyone else. We don't want any possible moles to alert the Empire of our exact intentions. Keep your men on your toes and please, make sure you provide some support and guidance to our new officers. I would have preferred to get them started with some easy stuff, but we need all hands on deck since this is an emergency."

"All other personnel that would be able to reach Alderaan within a few hours via hyperspace are tied up in battle so we must pick up the slack. Get to know each other, as these are the men and women that may save your life over there. Last, but probably the most important point, reports indicate that the Empire's forces are teeming with Sith. Unfortunately, the Jedi Order can only spare five Jedi to assist you but they have assured me that Jedi Knight Satele is just as capable as a council member.

"If you encounter a Sith, I recommend not engaging. Regroup and report it to either Satele or Captain Malcom. In addition, if you encounter anyone from Havoc Squad, you are to assist them however possible. We must keep them alive as each one of them is worth about 20 normal troopers."

He pressed the button again, shutting off the hologram. "That's all I have for you. Go assemble your troops and inspect their equipment. I expect all of the inspection reports on my desk one hour before deployment. You are all dismissed."
