The Calm Before The Storm

"Look!" Tyler interrupted.

"We are not here to hurt you or anyone else, just let her go and we can talk about this."

Katherine added, "It's true just listen to us."

The girl sniffled up her tears while looking at Carrie's unconscious body, "You don't understand...but there's not much else I can do." She then tosses Carrie to the ground as well as the gun. As Katherine completed the arrest, I still couldn't help but feel uneasy about the whole situation. Tyler was checking Carrie's pulse before carrying her back to the car. I quickly followed him to see if she was hurt. She was pretty bruised up but nothing serious.

"You don't know what your doing.." The girl mumbled as she was getting cuffed.

"You're on the wrong side..."

Katherine ignored her as she called using her phone for the angel authorities to arrest her.

"Do you have this under control?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah, you guys can bring her back home, ill wait with the convict until the police arrive," Catherine replied calmly.

Tyler nodded before gesturing everyone to get into the car and driving off. The car ride was silent as Tyler refused to answer any of Jack's questions and began to pout while looking out the car window. Once we arrive at Hannah's house, we leave Carrie on the couch. Since Hannah was adamite about not sharing her bed.

Hannah wasn't that grateful that she came back unharmed, but Darleen and Allen seemed very relieved. As Tyler tried to sneak away Jack noticed and pulled him aside.

"If things are really getting this out of hand, let me help." jack insisted.

Tyler just stood in silence.

"What's really going on? How bad is it really?"

Tyler just gave him an empty glare,

"I think you have other priorities to focus on right now." Tyler Sternly spoke, as he left without a trace.

"Hey," Alen softly spoke as he gently placed his hand on Jack's shoulder. "I don't know why you're so tense but I'd help if you just loosened up a bit."

Jack sighed at his request, still thinking about what happened, but gave in to the temptation of relaxing for a moment.

"Besides me and Darleen are pretty much inseparable now!" He said happily with a huge smirk on his face.

Perplexed Jack asks, "Isn't that your job anyway?"

"Well, yes! But I'm better than you at it."

"Shut up." Jack coldly responded.

"Hey Jack, Allen! Carrie is waking up!" Darleen yelled.

They rushed inside to see her slowly open her eyes. "What happened?" Carrie questioned, having no recollection of what occurred. I explained to her what happened and she was shocked that she couldn't remember a thing. The last thing she did remember was getting slapped by Hannah which didn't help, and although Hannah was quite harsh to her, you could tell she missed the attention Carrie gave her. Even if she was not nice to her the whole time.

Darleen, Hannah, and I agreed to have a slumber party to watch out for something like that again and to lighten the mood with some fun. As they listened to loud music and watched some scary movies, I noticed that Jack didn't seem interested to partake in the events. Instead, choosing to be by himself, sitting on the porch.

So I excused myself from the group and sat beside him.

I then ask "Why don't you join everyone, it seems boring just sitting here."

He glanced over at me before staring back into the distance again. "Someone needs to keep watch, right?"

I gave him a sad smile knowing he just chooses to close himself from everyone. "You don't have to be so cold to me you know!" I sharply spoke.

He turned to me again confused. "What do you mean?" "Well," I started, "Even though your my guardian angel doesn't mean you have to be so emotionless to me."

I began to pout, but he didn't seem very impressed. He only sighed saying, if only it was that easy." I didn't really believe him but I can't really force him to open up either. We then hear a loud scream from the kitchen, causing us to jump, scared that the kidnapper was somehow back we rushed over.
