Discovering Secrets

I walked with Jack, and the strange man until we stopped at a cabin in the woods.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" I asked, a bit uncertain of this sketchy place. The man nodded, and broke down the door. The place looked untouched, but I guess you can never be to sure. I noticed a note on the table.

Jack picked up the note and read it to us,

"I'm assuming that if you guys find this, you already know that your friend is gone. I've decided to kidnap then kill your buddy, to give you a reason to come find me, unless you come too late. You have until nine o'clock tonight, after that, I'll have to kill her." I was shocked.

How can an angle be so sinister?

"Where is she now?" Worried if we ended up being too late to save her.

"It's only five, we have four hours to find her location. Let me just check my map. Jack, look for possible escape routes."

"What about me?"

"Well, you weren't supposed to be here, but you should just sit down. I don't need you to do anything, so just wait for us to finish." I wasn't satisfied with that answer, and told him,

"Well, at least tell me your name, or whatever name you'd prefer to be called."

"Just call me Tyler." I shook my head in agreement, and took a seat in a nearby chair. Fiddling my thumbs, I saw Jack rushing back to tell Tyler what he'd found.

"They must have left through the front door, the windows are shut, and all of the doors are locked. They could have left out the back door too though, if she had the keys to the cabin." Tyler nodded and showed us his watch.

"I remembered we had left a tracking device in her, and I was able to find their current location." He pointed to a red dot on the map.

"She has to be here." Looking at his watch, I knew it was going to be awhile until we reached there. Of course, I still had hope that we would make it in time. I may have only known her for a short time, but I feel like I've know her from somewhere. I can't put my finger on it, but I wonder.

Have I met her somewhere before?

I shook the thoughts out of my head as I dashed to catch up with Jack and Tyler.

"Hey, how do you plan on getting there? Your not going to just walk all the way there do you?" The concern in my voice being noticeable. Jack turns to put a hand on my shoulder,

"No were getting a ride, we just need to leave the woods." He reassured. I sighed in relief, until hearing a high pitched screeching sound, followed by the sound trees crashing down.

"What the hell is that?!" Tyler yelled. Soon, a car appeared out of nowhere, dashing towards us before smacking down the breaks, barely touching all of us.

A woman than appears out of the car. She was wearing an all white uniform and she had her hair up in a bun. Tyler was grinding his teeth just the sight of her.

"YOU COULD HAVE KILLED US!" He yelled so loud, my ears began to ring.

"But you didn't die. Oh, and I'm going to be your driver today," she paused to pull out a lollipop, and stuck in her mouth,

"Now get in the car." She demanded.

"You were always a lose cannon Katherine..." I heard Tyler sigh.

"Why you out of all people.." Tyler grunted.

"If you want to know, I'll tell you on the ride. I don't have time to just stop and chit chat." Tyler glanced at the time, seven-thirty. He sighed, with that we all hopped into the red car, and braced for the drive.

I glanced at my surroundings to see Jack looked uncomfortable, but not as uneasy as Tyler was. I can also agree then with though, I was clinging on the the seat so hard my hand became sore, and were sweating like crazy.

Yet, Katherine was calm, and even trying to start a conversation to help break the ice. The only problem was, I was the only person able to speak on this nauseating drive, and we didn't say much, mostly small talk. She looked over at Tyler before speaking,

"So you want to know why I was your ride for the day?" Tyler glared at her, trying to keep his cool while on this chaotic trip. He could only nod to keep his lunch in his stomach.

"Well, when I heard it was you who was asking for a ride, I couldn't help myself. So I begged them to have me sent here, and without a second thought!"

"They must have not wanted you there..." Jack quietly mustered up.

"What was that?" She asked slamming on the breaks, making everyone feel more sick than we already did. Everyone groaned from the quick paced stop.

"That's what I thought." She then presumed to drive once more.

Up ahead I noticed a person with huge feathered wings, and had Carrie in a head lock, pointing a gun to her head. Everyone rushed out of the vehicle. Katherine and Tyler pulled out a gun.

"We could do this the easy way or hard way. And honestly, I think you would prefer the easy way, so put you gun down." Katherine said, trying to persuade the girl.

"What do you know? She's a demon! She deserves to die! Why do you side with them?! What are they doing to manipulate you into believing they're good?" The girl screamed, tears pouring down her face. Katherine slowly put her guard down, feeling bad for her.

"Katherine! Keep your gun up! She might be trying to fool you!" Tyler yelled.

"Stupid demon! Let her make her own decisions!" The girl screamed once more,

"Maybe she'll do the right thing and help me save this world," while looking into Katherine's eyes she said,

"Why do you follow them? You remember what they did to your family right?" Katherine then had her eyes wide open.

"H-how do you know?!" Katherine asked in shock.
