Chapter 37: Morior Invictus

"It's interesting, isn't it? I was also speechless when I first saw it." the voice said.

Turning towards the voice, Li's eyes met a person whose aura exuded confidence. Dark skin, honey-colored eyes, a perfect beard, and dreadlocks framed his well-defined features. The man wore a simple white shirt and leather pants, but... 

"He's strong..." thought Jihan. Simultaneously, a strange sensation passed through his mind, as if the man's words were easier to digest. 

"The lady did warn me that you're quite a suspicious person," the man said, noticing the way Jihan stared at him. Raising both hands, he continued, "Please, don't shoot, I come in peace!" 

Despite sensing the sincerity in his words, his sudden action surprised Li more than the view of the city. 

"You..." 

"Yes, I came from the same..." 

"Are you an idiot?" 

"..." 

"..." 

A forced smile appeared on his face as a vein bulged on his forehead.
