Chapter Ten: My gorgeous sister is back

The maids were greeted by the sound of a black Hummer entering the parking lot. They quickly lined up in a straight vertical formation in front of the residence, preparing to welcome their new master.

Patrick, who had just returned, excitedly informed everyone about the beauty of their new master, filling them with anticipation and joy.

The guards courteously opened the car doors for the family. As their new master, Hu Sabrina, came into view, everyone was captivated and spellbound. The sheer beauty she possessed left them in awe, surpassing even the previous glamorous Miss Nathalia. They couldn't help but wonder if Nathalia could have been more striking had she embraced the use of makeup.

With synchronized reverence, all the maids greeted their new master. Who wouldn't be overjoyed to work for such a stunning individual?

"I am the head maid, Lang Morgue. Feel free to ask me anything you need," Lang Morgue introduced herself, her voice filled with a mixture of confidence and hospitality. She entered the residence with grace, waving at everyone like a princess.

Sabrina's mother guided her to a room that had been specially decorated for her, all her belongings already neatly placed inside. Once left alone, Sabrina meticulously inspected the room, running her finger along every surface in search of any specks of dust. Satisfied with her findings, she gracefully threw herself onto the soft bed, letting her hair cascade around her.

Each room had its own doorbell, signaling someone's arrival. When Sabrina heard a voice coming from the other end, she reluctantly got up to open the door.

"What do you want?" she asked abruptly, her tone reflecting her exhaustion.

"I know you must be tired, but I wanted to give you this as a welcome gift," Nathalia said, stepping aside to allow Aunt Lang to enter the room, holding a gown.

The gown had been meticulously dry-cleaned and straightened, making it look even more beautiful than before.

"I made this for you to wear at the ball tomorrow. I hope you like it," Nathalia said, presenting the gown with a warm smile.

"Thank you, it's beautiful," Sabrina replied happily, dragging the gown inside and locking the door behind her.

Aunt Lang looked at Nathalia, silently questioning Sabrina's abrupt behavior.

"She's probably just exhausted. I think I'll rest too," Nathalia offered honestly. She was always known for her straightforwardness and sincerity.

At the Li Mansion, the preparations for the party were almost complete. After having dinner with his beloved sister, Li's expression turned cold and distant as he immersed himself in his novels. In his white and royal blue-decorated room, he appeared like a devilish angel.

The morning sun gently filtered into Nathalia's room, casting a soft shadow beneath her closed eyes, highlighting her long, thick black lashes. Today, there was no alarm clock disturbing her. She had taken the day off to accompany her sister and explore a part of China together.

On this particular day, her account received a generous sum of money from her father. Despite her preference to stay in bed, she had no choice but to wake up. Gently rubbing her eyes, she attempted to shield herself from the intrusive sun rays. Her disheveled hair, a testament to her deep slumber, only added to her charm. "Sun, please let me sleep a little longer. Why must you gleam so brightly?" Her voice, still husky from sleep, conveyed a sense of laziness fit for a princess. Aunt Lang had prepared breakfast for the entire family before moving on to her next task. With two daughters now, her workload had doubled. She decided to start with the older one, but to her surprise, upon arriving at her room, she found her already dressed and ready to face the day. "What are you doing here so early?". Despite the words, her voice carried a soothing tone, mindful of the maid's age. Aunt Lang, an old woman who had dedicated her life to serving others, felt a sense of relief. "I came to check on Miss Sabrina. I apologize for the disturbance," she offered. With that, Aunt Lang proceeded to her next task. Hoping for the same punctuality from the other girl, Aunt Lang's hopes were shattered as she saw the young woman still lounging in bed. Taking a deep breath, Aunt Lang called out Nathalia's name, to which she immediately woke up and stood at attention, even performing a makeshift salute. Her eyes fought to close, but before she could succumb to sleep, she was rudely awakened by a splash of cold water on her face. Jumping up like a startled cat about to be bathed, she showed Aunt Lang her faux-claws. Aunt Lang smiled triumphantly, revealing her impeccable set of white teeth, and Nathalia mirrored the expression as she realized what had transpired.
