[A lot of talking in this chapter.]

"So what are you doing tomorrow?" Sophia asked him through the speaker on his phone.

Carl was laid out on his bed with his eyes covered, he was tired from all the animation work he had been doing lately, it was coming along great but his hands and eyes were hurting. At the moment the house was quieter then normal, maybe because Fiona was out with Steve somewhere, while Lip and Ian were watching Liam.

He had no clue where Debbie was, which was actually concerning as he should know where his sister as at.

Maybe he should spend time with her or something, everything has been all Lip and Fiona, or his friends, he honestly never spent much time around Liam, Debbie or Ian. Well Ian was always working or at ROTC so he couldn't really say that he has had the chance, when he is not at those places he honestly doesn't know where Ian ever is.

"I am going to try and spend time with Debbie, something is up with her and I want to make sure everything is okay." He replied back to Sophia getting out of his thoughts.

"So no video tomorrow then?" She asked a clear pout in her voice.

He laughed a little, "No, but we can do a solo one together soon. Let me just catch up with my family some, I haven't been spending enough time with them compared to all of you."

"Fine." She sighed out clear amusement in her voice, "I guess I do need to learn something about my little sister, she is growing up."

He laughed again shaking his head, "I am sure she is just dying to be in your amazing presence."

"Please Carl, we both know that you would rather hang out with me then Kassidi, it is just she gets to you first. I swear that girl has a second sense to when you are alone."

That wasn't much of a stretch either, he was sure that she had some sort of tracking chip on him, he couldn't prove it but he was sure when she stayed over she installed a camera in his room. He hadn't found it yet if she did, well honestly he would probably laugh about it because she was able to get one over him.

"Who knows with that girl." He said as an answer.

"Oh we both know, you are just not addressing it correctly at all." She scoffed.

"Can we just not for tonight please? This is just something I think shouldn't be addressed at the moment, she will give up eventually."

"Keep telling yourself that Carl. I will see you at school on Monday then, I have to get to bed, some of us actually want to be well rested to look their best."

"Yeah and some of us just don't need the beauty rest like others."

"CARL!"

"Bye! Dream of me." He said quickly before hanging up while laughing.

"Whatcha doing Debbie?" Carl asked as he set a donut in front of her with a smile, he could tell she was worried about something.

She bit her lip while having a thoughtful look on her face, "I...I know Steve is hiding something from Fiona, and no one ever takes care of her. She is always looking out for us, so I want to make sure that everything is okay."

Carl sat there a moment looking her over, he could hear Fiona moving about upstairs so their conversation wasn't being overheard as he knew no one else but Liam and them were in the house. "Hmm, okay what do you need help with?"

She blinked smiling a little, "You're going to help me?"

"Of course. Like you said, Fiona looks out for us, so we should return the favor when we can, what's first?"

"I was thinking the library, I want to look up an address and a name that I got." She said her smile growing bigger.

He shook his head, "Nope that's okay, I got someone who can find that easily for us."

Carl smiled taking out his phone and dialed Jordan's number, "Hey man, you coming to the club today, it is soo boring here." Jordan said as he answered.

"Not today, got to help my little sister with something. We can get together soon though. I need your help at the moment though."

"Ugh, Sophia gets the *V-View, Kassidi, well she takes more then anything though you indulge her. And I get the drug dealing, which we haven't event tried to do I might add." He complained.

Carl rolled his eyes, "Look I changed my mind on the drugs, but there is a game I am thinking about doing and I will need someone to code it. Know of anyone?"

".....What kind of game?" Jordan asked after a moment pause.

"A shooter game. Look, we can talk about this later, can you help me with my sister's thing first?" Carl asked as he saw Debbie just sitting there staring at him.

"Fine, but don't forget. So, tell me what you need I am at the computers already."

Carl prompted Debbie who said everything after Debbie put it on speaker, "Get all that?"

"Yeah, the house is owned by a Candace and Ned Lishman, huh..." Jordan said with a thoughtful sound on the end.

"What is it?" Debbie asked desperately thinking the worst.

"Oh, it's nothing bad. It's just I know them, Carl and I are apart of the same country club as them, while Ned doesn't come as much Candace is here enough that she speaks with my mom." Jordan informed most likely still looking over their information.

Carl thought about it, while he wasn't someone who went daily he had been there enough over the last two months that he could still recognize who he was talking about, "Ahh okay I know her, she is that older lady."

"You know her?" Debbie asked surprised.

"Not personally, but I know of her." Carl shrugged, "Want to go talk to her? We can figure it out easier if we went to speak with her."

Debbie nodded.

"Okay, well we are going on a hunt. I will call you later tonight with more details about the game Jordan."

"Don't forget man, making our own game sounds amazing." Jordan said excited.

"Don't worry, I got you." Carl said before hanging up, "So, let me call a cab then we can use it to get to this address."

Debbie beamed, "Okay, I am going to go get ready."

Debbie left him there as she ran up the stairs right as Fiona was coming down with an awoken Liam, "Whoa, slow down Debs, you might get hurt. What has her so excited?"

Carl shrugged, "Nothing much, me and her are going out for the day. We will be back no later then five though."

Fiona watched him a moment before smiling, "Alright then, it is good to see you two getting along. You haven't been around much, not that hanging out with friends isn't good, but I know she also wants to spend some time with you."

Carl nodded, he knew what she meant, Debbie being the youngest still needed attention more then the rest, and soon he would actually become so busy with friends and other things they wouldn't be spending much time together. He didn't want to grow up and not have any good memories with her, he couldn't say the same about Liam as he wouldn't even remember a lot of the things they did yet.

He could still spend time with Debbie, and while this wasn't the most ideal things for a brother and sister to do together it was still something at least, he would do something fun after this. Carl got up and went downstairs, he threw on the sweater that Kassidi got him a long with the black trench coat she got, he threw on some black jeans and his boots before going back upstairs, he locked his door and then went to wait on Debbie.

He didn't need to wait long as she came down the stairs, smiling he took her outside where the cab was already waiting, the two got in as it took off since the driver already had the address. Debbie reached across the seat and took his hand, he could tell she was nervous about whatever it was they were about to walk into.

He smiled over at her as he squeezed her hand tightly.

They entered the Northside, which as they past the frozen Lake made it almost five times colder then the Southside, the sweater he wore made him feel so comfortable in this condition. "Here we are." The driver said as he parked outside a moderate sized home, it was just shy of a mansion.

Debbie gulped loud enough for him to hear, he squeezed her hand again as they got out and began walking towards the door, "It will be alright Debbie. Come on."

She nodded and allowed him to take her to the front door, she grabbed the knocker and hit it against it, they only needed to wait a few seconds before Candace who Carl recognized opened the door, "Are you sleeping with my sister's boyfriend Steve?" Debbie asked.

Carl and Candace choked, "If you two are selling cookies that is a hell of an opener."

"Sorry about her." Carl said scratching the back of his head as Debbie walked right into the place like she owned it.

"No, no it's fine you two come on in." She said laughing lightly as she motioned for him to join them.

He thanked her and they both walked off to where Debbie went, she was in their sitting room, already claiming a chair for herself as she waited on them, "Now, what are you two dears here for?" Candace asked as he took a seat to.

"Are you sleeping with Steve?" Debbie asked again as she stared at the woman.

Said woman took out a joint and began to light it up, "Who is Steve dear?" She asked as she took a puff.

"Hey mom, me and Chip are going to pick up Dad from the hospital. Alison will also be coming by for dinner." Steve's voice sounded out as he walked into the room, most likely smelling the weed and knowing where his mother would be.

"Oh, Thank you Jimmy, you take such good care of your mother." She cooed as she brushed their noses together before kissing him lightly on the lips.

Carl was a little weirded out, there was being close to your mother, then there was, well whatever the hell you wanted to call what just happened in front of him. Debbie was also looking freaked out as she stared at them, but they had both caught what she had called him, he was apparently using a different name with their family.

"Oh, Jimmy dear this is...Oh I am sorry sweethearts, I didn't catch your names." Candace said as Jimmy turned and the smile on his face fell as he just noticed the two of them on the room. He sat down slowly staring at a glaring Debbie.

"Nice to meet you Jimmy, I am Debbie Gallagher, this is my brother Carl." Debbie gritted out.

"Oh, Jimmy here is my pride, top of his class at Michigan he's going to be a cardio thoracic surgeon just like his father." Candace praised him gushing about it.

Debbie mouthed something as Candace kept talking, before she stood and left, Carl sat there as he knew she was mad, he was going to let her cool off on her own, they would speak after leaving here. Jimmy/Steve looked over at him but seeing as he didn't move he sighed and walked off.

"...Would you two like to stay for dinner? Huh, where did your sister go dear?" She asked him as she took a seat near him.

He smiled at her, "She went out to get some air, not use to all the smoke."

"Oh poor thing. So would you two like to stay for dinner? We are celebrating Ned coming home, he was in a fender bender and end up breaking his leg, horrible thing to happen to him." She said shaking her head as she took another hit of what she was smoking.

"I don't think Debbie would like that much, she probably wants to get home to our sister. I would be honored though to sit for dinner, if you don't mind." He said with a smile.

"Oh, that is fine dear. I will make sure there is another place setting for you dear, just take your sister home and make sure you are here by six, we eat at seven." She smiled while patting his head.

Carl nodded and looked up as Jimmy/Steve came in with a more cheerful Debbie, he didn't know what they had talked about but whatever it was had her all smiles as they walked back into the room.
