Chapter 6: The enemy within
Ashton joins first time dungeon raid lead by man named Carlos along with others Hunters among them is overconfident Hunter named Yuki Todo together they went inside the Blue Gate but without Hunter association monitoring turn out Carlos and his gang are discussing something quietly.
He sense something doesn't right about Carlos and his gang suddenly he remember his former teacher mentioned about Mole Hunter a gangs who killed other Hunter and loot all their belongings they modus operandi usually disguise as Hunter association agents using fake Identification. most of the victim were D, E, C, and B- tier Hunter Ashton need to be careful with them he kept his vigilance for while.
The group reached a fork the path was divided to three Carlos split the group into three he assign his two men each one will lead one group. Ashton and Yuki Todo were group 3 lead by Carlos men Freddy they group went left path Carlos group took middle path and Group 2 took right path Carlos inform they will meet back here soon after they clear the dungeon.
" Hey you being quiet lately" Yuki Todo tried to begin his conversation with Ashton but he didn't pay attention either all he think is to be stronger for his sister sake.
" Ok everyone we rest here for while I going you all have 10 minutes to rest" Freddy order everyone to rest after an hour walking he went to toilet as everyone rest Ashton rest not far from the group thus Yuki sit next to him hand him a bread and bottle of milk.
" Take it I know you Hungry so take it" Yuki give Ashton his food and milk but he didn't take it even Yuki insist want him take after few time being annoyed by him Ashton took it both of them share the breads together.
" What's your stories...me I want to be Guild leader like my father" Yuki Todo asked Ashton why he become Hunter while chewing a bread he tell Ashton he's dream wants to be Guild leader one day but Ashton just didn't pay attention. Yuki also told him that willing to give his life for it after hearing Yuki spoke Ashton replied it.
" Fools" a single word came out from his mouth cause Yuki bit angry towards him soon after they quarrel Freddy came back and the group continue they journey Yuki seems didn't finish with Ashton while walking Ashton spot a red ribbon hide under Boulder rock he suspect something feels wrong he quickly join the group. After few hours the Group journey leads them to a clearing once again Freddy order everyone to rest thus he went to toilet again.
Ashton know something wasn't right about Freddy since beginning he left a red ribbon under Boulder rock and he always went to toilet Everytime the group rest. Suddenly one of the group members went missing everyone went panic Yuki asked them where's the last time he saw they pointed the area there was pond In the middle of the clearing Yuki approach the pond slowly as the rest watched but suddenly an rumbling sound shocked the ground everyone went to find cover Yuki and Ashton once we're stuck together.
The ground floor suddenly cracked and created a large hole then something came out from the hole turns out it was dungeon boss.
Dungeon Boss: Rock Worm
Everyone running with terrified consumed them Yuri went out to save them he draw his Nodachi then he runs towards the Rock worm Ashton also tried to calm them in fact they all scare they thought Freddy were eat by Rock Worm and suddenly the Rock worm slammed it's tail towards Ashton and the Hunter group position it cause large impact Ashton also hit by it. after witness what happened Yuki Todo active his skill lightning Slash he tried to wound the worm but because of it's skin were made by rocks it's too hard to cut it through.
Meanwhile Koichi Tenma are rushing towards to construction site he suddenly got call from authority about the gate they informed him that there already group of Hunter's went inside the gate. Koichi calls Director Ryou Aikawa he suspect the Mole gangs behind all this.
While fainted Ashton hearing someone calling his name the voice reassemble women but he can't guess it Ashton slowly open his eyes he tried to stand up but the impact back then sent him flying also the rest of Hunter's are dead their bodies were scattered around the place. then he saw Yuki Todo are still fighting the Rock worm Ashton managed to stand up he activate Skill Sprint also he used Killing Frenzy skills plus with Kurava Fang Dagger the dash towards the enemy like a lighting.
meanwhile Koichiro were just arrive at the scene Rudia his agent also arrive she give full report about the gate she also notify him about recent activity happens around he area turns out the person who leads the raid is actually not an agent from Hunter association plus the man named Carlos is not part of the Hunter associate's group. Koichi belived this Carlos guy was member of Mole Gangs a group of unlicensed hunter Koichi orders Rudia to issue order to capture the gang soon after the gate open.
Back inside the dungeon Yuki get hits by the Rock worm that caused him severed injured also his attack didn't even scratch the beast he needs to think other method plus no one survived that attack besides him plus the annoyed guy who was with him that time might not survived either. Yuki decided to use his final attack suddenly something passed him fast a purple light head towards the Rock worm he sense strange aura came from he light.
The light jumped towards the Rock worm and attacks it repeatedly until the rock armor breaks Yuki himself could not believe for what he saw the light attack didn't not stop there it slashed through from it's heads and ends to it's tail thus the beast are defeated. Yuki saw someone came out from the dust turns out it was Ashton he thought this annoyed guy was actually just show off turns out he more than that Yuki suspect Ashton is actually a Higher tier Hunter in disguise.

Suddenly a large explosion coming from the entrance a sound of person clapping hands turns out it was Carlos with his gang Yuri were bit shock but not for Ashton since he knew who Carlos was.
" Bravo!!...I applaud for your heroic act but too bad you gonna hand over all your reward to us" Carlos congrats both Ashton and Yuki for they bravado for defeating the Rock worm but he demanding to hand over all item and reward they have or face the consequences.
" You Joking right do you think you can get away from this" Yuki warned Carlos about the consequences he will face after this but Carlos and his gangs were laughed at him they didn't afraid of Hunter association or authority plus they even kill more then hundred lives.
" Come now you we don't know who you are your real is not Yuki Todo" Carlos tried to expose Yuki true identity but interrupted by Yuki glare.
" One more word and I will kill you" Yuki glare toward Carlos but he didn't even scare or fear it because he can use him as leverage.
" Okay...I give you a solutin Mr.Todo if want to leave the Dungeon alive you have to kill that man over there" Carlos points to Ashton who actually exhausted from his fight Yuki had to make choices kill Ashton or died inside dungeon Yuki were confused by his choice as he look towards Ashton but he just smile back at him.
" It's ok Yuki do it I understand you had to protect your honor" Ashton told him to do it but his body become frozen it would seem Yuki could not do it because Ashton help defeating rock worm him. after failed to killed Ashton suddenly and fire ball shot toward Ashton and explode Yuki found it came from one of Carlos gangs Yuki went rage towards them he promised he will killed them all but Carlos just laughed at him.
Ashton still breathing even after being shot by fire ball he thought he can save them all he failed them everyone dies because of him suddenly a same voice call him.
" Darling....wake.. up...
" Wake.... up...have..you forgot..your promise"

After remember the promise he made suddenly a message popped out.

Suddenly Ashton wakes up and walked towards Carlos Ashton also warned Yuki to stand down and let he deal with Carlos he slowly walked but blocked by one of his gang member he thinks Ashton were just bluffing then out of nowhere his head were cut down everyone including Yuki were shocked and terrified. Carlos order his men to attack Ashton with everything they got Carlos used Iron wall skill and battle cry to boost up his gangs morale.
Ashton Sprint towards the mage gangs by grabbing his head the mage were terrified by his glare Ashton throws him to wall and sliced it to half then move to Freddy just he tried to escaped Ashton already stand in front of him. the He sliced Freddy into small pieces Carlos that time were terrified with what he saw how's a low tier Hunter can doing something like this.
Carlos suspect Ashton might be high tier Hunter he hide his true strength from beginning after kill all Carlos gang member Ashton turn his attention to Carlos but he tried to fight back Carlos used sheild bash at him but Ashton knock it back.
" Wait!!!... I said wait!!! if you killed me you will regret it-" Just Carlos about to finish his sentence his were cut off by Ashton and he died instantly Yuki at same time watched everything suddenly feel chilling about it also amaze by Ashton strength. But the only question that he couldn't not understand is how he managed to take down a monster single handling suddenly Ashton appear infront of him.
" Are you alright Yuki" Ashton came to check on him Yuki just nods it both of them look around for Hunter who didn't make it their bodies were scattered around the place sadness and sorrow as they collect it. back on outside the gate Koichi and his team are prepared to capture the Mole gangs as soon they came out everyone at their position suddenly the gate open two figures appears turns out it was not the Mole gangs but the survivor Hunter Ashton and Yuki they both dragging out their dead comrade bodies. Koichi quickly call out operation he order his team to help them both. Ashton watched a dead hunter family mourned their death some of them blamed it the others were not so much.
" You must be Ashton the D-tier Hunter I am Koichi Tenma from Hunter association" Koichi greeted Ashton before asking some questions Ashton explain what happened while he was there also the man named Carlos was actually a fake Hunter he also leads a gangs called mole. After hearing explanation from Ashton he asked one more question.
" who killed them how they all died?" Koichi asking about the mole gangs death but Ashton only remain silent Koichi asking the same question to him but Ashton still remain silent. just before Koichi going ask for the third time Ashton speak silently " I killed them all" after hearing the answer Koichi pat both of Ashton should and congratulate him as he went back to duty Ashton left the scene.
" hey!!!...wait!!!....you wait!!! I want to say something" A loud voice calling him from behind when he looked back it was Yuki running towards him.
" what do you want this time" Ashton asking with sarcasm looks towards Yuki.
" I am just want to say thank you for all you did if not for you we both died there" Yuki shows his gratitude to him also he wants to thank you him personally for what he did. Yuki also promise that will not tell anyone about this he also hope they path crossed again. Ashton just smile and nod both of them shake hands and went to each other path meanwhile Kim went to Benedict house when she knock the door no one's replied she knock for second time still no replies when she tried to pull off the door it opens automatically.
Kim went inside the house she called Benedict few but no one answered it while head to kitchen she suddenly heard voice came from second floor. the voice like someone moaning Kim slowly went upstairs the voice became more clear she look where source of the voice. turns out it came from Benedict room Kim slowly approach the room as the moaning voice became louder she spot the room the door are slightly open she went too peek suddenly she were shocked for what she saw Benedict and Carolina are having sex together.....
