Shadow Lord of DC

When I was young , my father asked me "Son what's your dream ? What do you want to do with your life?"

My first thought was that I will live like a normal person : find a job , buy a house ,marry a beautiful woman and have a child, but in the next second I thought about my favorite heroes from comics and I said "I want to be a hero ."

When he heard what nonsense I spoke, he smiled at me and said " Alex , you should stop dreaming about imaginary heroes and things , because they don't exist. You should learn and get yourself a nice job , a house and a wife. Only then will you be happy."

"Dad , I don't think so.."

"At least try to be a good man"

This was basically my first real conversation with my father. My name is Alex Darkwood and I'm 18 . My dream is to be a hero ,but I can't do that , so I will try and be a good son and get myself a nice job.

One week later I was sitting in a taxi ,when a van crashed into our car. The taxi driver was killed instantly while I was badly injured. When I tried to get myself out of this mess ,I found a guy with a rifle pointed at me.

"Sorry dude, but you need to die, you saw my face."

In the next second he shot me in the head ending my life.

My last thought was "You should have run , you ****** ."

When I tried to open my eyes , I found that I can't move my body or I should say that I done have a body,but when I tried to look around , I heard a voice .

"You should be confused. I'm the Purgatory or the Well of Reincarnation .When you were alive , you didn't make a mess or any crimes so I can give you a choice if you can answer my question."

"Can I hear it?"

"What guard you against the light and stay hidden in the darkness?"

"Hmm, let's see."

While I was thinking , I found one interesting thing about this question and that was why would I need protection in the light and then I found out why.

"Shadow"

"Correct, In the day your Shadow guard you and in the night your Shadow become the darkness itself. So what do you want to do now? Reincarnate or go to the soul resort aka heaven?"

"Reincarnation, but can I chose where ?"

"It's possible , but you need to use fifty percent of your wishes ."

"How many?"

"Two left if you choose to reincarnate in a special world."

"Well, I want to reincarnate in the DC World , I want to keep my memories from my last life and as for my final wish , can I ask you what would you recommend?"

"Shadow."

"Shadow?"

"Shadow Manipulation or I should say Shadow Lord?"

" What's this Shadow Lord thing?"

"You will gain a power that will control shadows , well only your shadows and the shadows that will remain after a living being died."

"That sounds interesting . Ok then , I will like to reincarnate in The DC Word with my memories and Shadow Lord power.*

"Very well, I hope you will be happy."

"You can be sure about that."

After some time I found myself in a baby bed, but the only thing that seems odd is the fact that I share this bed with another baby.

While I was thinking about my situation , a nurse approach us.

"You are awake little guy?I hope you will be a good boy and you will play with your friend here."

Looking at her , I can see that she's a young lady , maybe twenties? Well she wasn't bad or anything , but you couldn't say that she's beautiful either. Her face was well shaped but a scar covered her left side . Her body is alright I could say . She's a normal looking girl.

Staying in this orphanage was like hell for me. But why a orphanage ? Well it's seems that my whole family was killed by some gang when they were fighting.I said that this was hell , well the main thing was that I couldn't do anything I would like to do , because Nurse Nina will stop me and the next thing was I can't use my power yet.

Five years later , you could see a young boy sitting in front of a mirror. This boy was Alex, Alex Darkwood. He was tall for his age and you could see some muscles here and there, because when he become 4 , his power awake . From that day , Alex, trained hard every day so when he will be a teenager , he can start his own adventure as a hero.

"I changed . I'm handsome ,but I should remain humble and be modest . I may look handsome ,but that doesn't mean I need to be arrogant."

When I was able to read , I start searching for information about the time period I was born , but I found nothing , only somethings about some criminals like Bane , Gentleman Jim Jansen, Graham and other mobsters.

First I was shocked and then I start thinking about Bruce , is he a child or the story hasn't start yet?

Another thing that I found was that Poison Ivy aka Pamela Lillian Isley is currently in my orphanage. I have to say that she is a beauty, no wonder she becomes so hot when she gets her power.

For the time being I should learn somethings and train , as for my power... I will try using it when I will be alone.
