A spoonful of instant coffee, two packets of sweetener and a dash of whole milk.
Lina sipped the warm drink and watched the hand on the clock face move steadily, second by second.
She had to leave for work soon, and as usual Yanlin was still snoring in bed. Dad woke surprisingly early despite having stayed up late the previous night watching some drama series with their neighbor Mrs.Kim.
"Good morning dad," Lina said, "Tea or coffee?"
"Tea of course," he said stretching his arms and yawning, "I can't drink that fake stuff like you."
Lina nodded passively and made the cup of tea, passing it to her dad across the kitchen counter. "I gotta go dad," she said grabbing her keychain from the glass bowl.
"Come home early today," he called to her before leaving, "Mrs.Kim's daughter is arriving and she wants to meet you!"
"Sure dad!" Lina said pulling on her cross-body bag and slipping on a pair of flat ankle boots.
