Backfire

Windy and Leo entered a mall. After a day of staying at home, they decided to go for a walk. When they entered a shop, Windy's gaze fixed on a woman who was standing in front of a shoe window.

"Joya?" Windy muttered. His brow furrowed at the sight of his sister.

As far as Windy knew, the shop he was currently visiting was one of the well-known shops. The goods that are sold are expensive and branded goods. So, it's only natural that Windy was surprised to see her sister shopping at the same store as her.

"Leo... Isn't that Joya?" Windy asked Leo, pointing to where his sister was standing.

Leo looked where his wife was pointing. His eyes widened when he realized that the woman standing in front of him was Joya, his ex-wife.

"What is he doing here?" Leo asked back.

After confirming that the woman was indeed Joya. Windy immediately approached him. You can see Joya holding a pair of brown shoes that look expensive. With lightning speed, Windy took the shoes.

Joya turned her head, looking at the person who had taken her shoes. "Windy?"

Windy smiled crookedly. You are right. What are you doing here?"

Joya rolled her eyes. Among all the shop visitors, Joya didn't expect to meet Windy and Leo.

"You're shopping?" Leo asked scornfully.

"I'm cooking," said Joya.

"You don't see where this is? Of course I'm shopping," he continued.

" You? Shop here? Ha ha! Do you have any money?" Windy chuckled. "Don't even try to lie. At least you want to shoplift, right?" accused Windy.

Joya glared. " Watch your mouth! Just like accusing people. Whether I have money or not, that's none of your business."

Joya turned around to leave, but Windy caught her hand.

" Wait! You've been caught trying to steal, now you want to run away?"

"What the heck, off!" Joya threw Windy's hand away. "Don't accuse people at random. I'm not a thief."

Windy laughed. " Ha ha ha! Where are the confessed thieves? Don't brush you off!"

Joya looked around. Windy laughed loudly at each other, all the shop visitors stared at her. "Stop Windy! Everyone is watching us. Don't you have any shame?"

" Embarrassed?. You're the one who should be ashamed. I didn't expect you to become a thief. As expected, Irwan really can't afford anything for you. So, you steal like this," he accused again.

Joya is furious. How could Windy accuse her own sister of being a thief. Joya looked at Leo asking for help "Leo... Can you make your wife calm? Don't just shut up!"

Instead of helping, Leo accuses him. "Joya! You must calm down. Why have you changed like this? Are you so short of money that you have to steal?"

"He's not short of money, but he really doesn't have money," said Windy sneeringly.

Joya looked at everyone who was watching him. Joya was embarrassed, their gazes seemed to strip her naked. They even started to gossip about him.

"Just report it to security!" said a woman wearing glasses.

"That's right, just annoying! Try calling security!" another said.

Joya was starting to get scared. He didn't mean to steal. But, what if the security guard asks for evidence. What must he do to prove his innocence.

Leo looked around him. "Windy, we better go. Look everyone is watching us.!

" Yes man!" said Windy. He didn't want to be seen by people. Windy glanced at her sister. " Embarrassing! What's wrong with me to have a brother thief like you, "he growled.

Windy and Leo were about to leave, but someone shouted at them. "Man! Miss! Do not go. Wait for the security guard to come. You are witnesses who saw him steal."

Windy and Leo looked at each other. Like it or not, they have to wait until the security guard arrives.

Joya is getting scared. He looked around for his husband, but Joya could not find him. Joy's eyes glistened. His ears were already hot from hearing people's ridicule.

"Here sir, the thief. Just arrest him! Jail everyone!" said a woman, pointing at Joya's face.

Joy's tears fell. His body was shaking. His legs felt weak. Joy is scared. "I'm not a thief, sir! They accuse me wrongly," defended Joya in a trembling voice.

"Better, mother come with us!" said one of the security guards while holding Joya's hand.

Joya pulled his hand, trying to release the security guard's grip. But his grip is so strong. "Irwan!" Sobbing Joya was scared. Joya looked at Leo and Windy, hoping they would help her. But they seem indifferent.

" Come on! Follow!" said the other security guard while dragging Joya's body.

Windy smiled crookedly as he saw his younger sibling being dragged away by a security guard. He was content to see his sister suffer. Unlike Leo, he couldn't bear to see the fear on Joya's face, but he chose to remain silent because he didn't want to be accused of being his accomplice.

" WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" snapped a man behind Joya.

" LET HER GO!" he ordered.

The two security guards immediately let go of Joya's hands and bowed respectfully to her. Everyone glanced at the source of the sound. You see two men walking towards Joy.

Windy and Leo were stunned to see that one of the men was Irwan.

Joya looked back. He saw Ivan walking towards him. Joya immediately ran to him and hugged him.

" Are you ok ?" asked Irwan.

Joya cried while shaking her head.

Irwan hugged his wife back. He glared at Windy and Leo. Their gazes met theirs with a look of astonishment.

" What happened?" asked the middle-aged man who came with Irwan in a firm tone.

The two security guards were still looking down. They look scared. " Excuse me sir! Earlier someone reported that the mother stole, "explained one security guard.

" HAPHAZARD! Who would dare to accuse my nephew of being a thief?" snapped the middle-aged man.

Everyone was stunned to hear the man's words. Including Windy and Leo.

The middle-aged man glared at the security guard and everyone who was watching him. "Quickly say! Or I sue all of you!" The threat.

People were starting to get scared, they knew the middle-aged man who had just threatened them very well. Buce Maitimu, a famous lawyer who always appears on television screens. He is also the owner of this mall building.

" They! It was the husband and wife who said that mother was a thief," said a woman, pointing at Windy and Leo.

" Oh! So you guys. I make sure you will rot in prison!" Buce said. Windy and Leo exchanged glances. "It's just a misunderstanding, sir! We can explain," said Leo.

"Misunderstood how? You clearly said earlier that mother stole, "said one visitor who was overlapped by other visitors.

" No sir! We didn't say he was a thief. They're the ones who misheard and instead called the security guard!" said Windy.

There was the sound of the crowd cheering for Windy. They even started chatting about Windy and Leo. Irwan's jaw tightened. His teeth chattered. Irwan's face did look flat, but his gaze implied anger.

Joya no longer wants to be in that place. He whispered to Irwan. " I want to go."

" Okay!" said Irwin. He stretched his arms, without letting go of his wife's body.

"What should we do with them?" asked Buce as he turned to Irwan.

" Just leave it! That woman is my wife's older sister," Irwan answered in a cold tone. He immediately went to take Joya leaving his brother and sister-in-law.

People cornered Windy and Leo even more.

"You king of heart! Accuses his own sister of stealing."

"Aahhh! You guys have no heart!"

"What a disgrace you have done!"

Windy couldn't stand hearing the blasphemies from people. He grabbed Leo's hand and walked out of the shop. The sound of cheers echoed, cursing Windy and Leo's actions. With a quick walk, finally Windy and Leo reached the car. Windy was furious because she felt humiliated. " God damn it! How could Joya embarrass me," he cursed.

Leo glared. "You were the first to embarrass Joya by accusing her of stealing."

Windy stared furiously at her husband. "Why are you even defending him? Didn't you accuse him of being a thief?

He fell silent. " That's enough! Besides you, don't you know that the shop belongs to Uncle Irwan?"

Windy's turn to be silent. While married to Irwan. Windy does not know any of Irwan's family. Windy only knows that Irwan is Lung's grandson, who has been living abroad and has just returned to Indonesia. Irwan also never talked about his family.

"If he has a wealthy uncle like Buce Maitimu, Irwan should also be rich, right?" he muttered. Could it be that all this time Irwan has been hiding his wealth from you?"

Windy was shocked to hear her husband's words. He never really got into Irwan's life, because he was too annoyed with his lazy nature. Windy even more focused on getting Leo. " unlucky!
