59 C56 1 Year Time Skip

As of this chapter, the patreòn is 5 chapters ahead at chapter 60. I'll probably be writing and posting some more chapters for patrons today. Also there are 5 chapters of the Naruto story on the patreòn as well.

"Souei, take them to my manor in Sena. Keep them hidden for now." I say and the three beasts are teleported away.

I can't tell my parents about this. They will definitely freak out if they knew I left them and recruited the big bad herd ruler. It's easier to just keep quiet for now.

After teleporting my new servants away, we returned to the group. Slipping back into place without anyone noticing. The soldiers were celebrating their victory over the beast herd. My mother returned to the group before me. She had a relieved smile on her face. I'm sure she's happy that this mess is done and over with. She's been here fighting off the herd for months after all. Since this area has been cleared, my mother sent a letter via pigeon to the fort. The status of the cavalry is unknown to everyone, so tensions were still a little high. When a pigeon returned with a letter, mom opened it quickly and scanned through its contents.

"*sigh* it's fine. We lost a small chunk of the cavalry, but all of the beasts that broke through are already dead." She says.

With the new information spreading through the camp, everyone let out a sigh of relief. It seems that everyone was worried about the cavalry. The celebration truly began, and everyone took this time to relax. The wounded were tended to by Rem. She worked as quickly as possible to heal as many as she could. Having her healing ability saved a big part of our army.

The day after the camps celebration, every able soldier went out to start collecting cores from the dead beasts. They also took some other valuable parts of them as well. The kingdom needs money after all of this, so this must be my father's way of boosting our coffers. Although it won't be much, every penny counts when you need the money.

When everyone was healed and ready to move out, a week had passed. Father didn't want us to use Nova to return the army, but I did have her bring the cores and other things to the palace treasury. There's no point making the soldiers lug all of that back to the capital. The reason father wants them to travel back themselves is he wants the army to triumphantly march back to the capital. They would have to pass through some city's, towns, and villages. This would show the people that the army is strong, and keep the nobles in line. Your typical show of power to inspire confidence and fear.

After the Royal army returned to the capital and the noble's armies returned to their lands, dad announced that the tournament would be delayed for another 3 years. That's annoying but it gives me time to work on my duchy.

I've given the core beasts a mission for now. They are to go into the dungeon via Souei and rank up enough for my liking. The fire bear who I have named Baloo will be my future ground mount, and the owl who I've named Archimedes will be my flying mount. Of course, Archimedes is named after the owl in The Sword in the Stone, and Baloo is named after the bear from The Jungle Book. Mia is also going to the dungeon in order to rank up, but she won't be a mount like the other two. I think I'll make her a maid or something. I haven't fully thought her role out yet.

One year time skip. Syrin is 8 years old

Shortly after the end of the beast war, Dalir had finished the blueprint for the manual water pump. It didn't take him long to construct a prototype for testing. After all the tests were run, the manual water pump was a success. Dalir fine-tuned the blueprint slightly, and we had a perfect manual water pump. I had him make a lot of them and had them installed all over Sena. The people were amazed at how easy it is for them to get water now. While the pumps were being installed in Sena, I brought a blueprint and a newly made pump to the capital.

After showing my father the pump and the blueprint, Nova brought us to one that was already installed in Sena. When my father saw the pump in action, his eyes practically had money signs in them. The country needed money badly, and selling this new technology to other country's would rake in some quick cash. Dad asked who invented the pump, and I told him it was my idea, but a blacksmith did the majority of the work. He thanked me for helping the kingdom and voiced that he wanted to meet the blacksmith. I told him that I would set something up later on.

I left the blueprint and pump at the palace, so my father can get to work. I'm sure he had to contact every country in order to sell the pumps or the blueprint. Whatever he wants to do with it. I'm sure he will do whatever makes the most money for the country.

Another thing that progressed this year is my road plan. A few months after the beast war, an earth mage figured out how to make concrete with magic. After he figured it out, I had him teach the others. I then sent them off to work on the roads of Sena. I also wish to use the concrete to upgrade buildings and bridges, but the roads are far more important. With smoother roads, carriages can travel safer, faster, and farther. This would boost trade exponentially, and in turn, provide a stimulus for economic growth. In simple terms, better roads equal more trade, and more trade helps grow the economy.

While the earth mages were working on the city's roads, I worked on recruiting more earth mages. Those I recruited swore loyalty to me, as I would rather not have the concrete spell fall into the hands of an enemy country. I also have Souei clones watching them closely for any possible leaks. You can never be too careful when it comes to things like this. If game of thrones taught me anything, it's that anyone can stab you in the back at any given time. Better to be safe than sorry.

Another project that I got done during this year is the schools of Sena. I sent some earth mages to the build sites to upgrade the school buildings. With concrete reinforcement to the foundation and some other areas, the schools turned out perfect. Due to the use of concrete in the schools, the size of the buildings went up a scale, and the number of floors increased as well. School is starting this January which is exciting. In order to get the students in the doors, I made attendance mandatory. If I didn't parents wouldn't send their children. This is because most children help their parents at work, or help out at the family farm. They may also have their own jobs since there are no underage labor laws.

Why send your child to school when he or she can be put to work. I did offer somethings that families should be exited for. Schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch to all students. Their children will also be able to get high paying jobs in the future, as the ability to read, write, and do math is very rare. I don't see why they wouldn't jump at the chance to send their children to school.
