105 Acting Out — II

Jordan walked in behind me. "You're supposed to be resting." He positioned himself behind me.

I looked at him through the mirror. His eyes looked heavy with sleep like he hadn't slept for days. It was the first time all day that I noticed that.

"Jordan, I am fine. The doctor said as much. I can resume my daily routine and isn't that the best thing to do? Besides, I need to put that day behind me." I moved away from the mirror and slid my feet into my black platform wedges.

"Why the shoes—Rose, what are you doing?" Jordan asked, sounding impatient.

"I have to go to the Spectator to get my check."

"The Sp—No! You're not leaving this house today," he commanded. I spun on my heels and set my glare on him.

"You can't tell me what to do," I said and moved towards the door. Jordan blocked it with his body.
