Acting Out — I

After the doctor's check-up assured Jordan that everything was fine with me, at that moment, he left, and a while later, so did everyone else. I heard Jordan telling Alec to handle things at the office for a while until he returned and Maddy had to go handle some things at the cafe. But before she left, she made sure to bake me her famous and my favorite: oatmeal raisin and choco-chip cookies. 

That's what I was smelling back in the living room. 

I lay idly on the bed as per everyone's request, waiting for Jordan to come back up so that we could finally continue our previous conversation. He had gone to see the doctor off. 

I sat upright, bored of staying on my back, and scrolled through the notifications blasting on my new phone. I smiled to myself. I didn't even say a word to Jordan about losing my phone but he had been so thoughtful about it.
