Jasper POV

Reaching the surface didn't take us long. Cordelia wouldn't stop smiling for me or at me. I have always been plagued by others emotions always bogged down by a sea of other people's feelings but with her it is different I can feel her happiness and her sorrow but it doesn't overwhelm me. Her feelings are comforting like a cool breeze that just barely kisses your skin and sends shivers through you. The good kind of shivers the ones you get from excitement for something new. When she merged the pearl with me I felt and saw her past. I now knew everything that has happened to her and I am amazed at how strong she is. Cordelia is my light in the dark and I would do anything to keep that beautiful smile on her face. It was at this thought that she spoke, she finally actually spoke not through her mind but with her voice. Her voice is the single most beautiful sound I have ever heard. 

Cordelia POV

Looking at Jasper in awe I couldn't stop the smile from spreading on my face as he looked at me with such devotion. Thanks to the pearl I can now sense his feelings and I now know his past. Merging the pearl with him created a link within us we can share thoughts and emotions with one another now and I have seen all his memories and I know all his pain. I will have to tell him all this and more but for now I just want to speak with him, truly speak with him so I open my mouth and say, "Hello Jasper, wow it feels weird to actually speak out load." At this stupid comment we both fall into fits of laughter neither one of us able to stop. His laugh is such a full rich sound that makes my skin tingle and my heart soar. In this single moment I am so happy that I came above the waters surface. 

Jasper grabbed my hand and led me back onto the shore he went to put his clothes on but I stopped him and dried him off first. He looked shocked but smiled at me and said, "Now that's gonna take some getting used to Lia." 

It took all of two seconds for my eyes to start watering at the nickname my parents in this life used to call me and another two seconds for me to wrap my arms around Jasper's neck and hug him with all that I had. He chuckled but wrapped his arms around my waist and held me to him. His head was at the crook of my neck and he took in a deep breath and said, "I have been wanting to do this since I saw you with those wolves."

I chuckled at him and said, "Don't be jealous love they are just friends. They helped me when I first came to shore. I especially like Sam and Emily they are the siblings I never knew I needed."

Jasper sighed and loosened his hold so he could look into my eyes and said, "I know that Lia I saw all that when your pearl merged with my heart. It is just hard to wipe away decades of hatred in just a few moments. I will respect them for helping my mate anything more will take time but I promise to try for your sake." 

Smiling softly at him I said, "Thank you for understanding." I was about to continue when I felt Jasper stiffen before he said, "Wait if I saw all your memories does that mean you saw mine as well." He took a step back and began to panic pleading for me not to leave him, that he will be better and do better as long as I just stay. It broke my heart to see him so lost and he felt my ach because he grabbed his chest and then looked at me.

I came to him and grabbed his face in my hands to hold his gaze and said, "I will not leave you Jasper. You will not lose me for I am yours and you are mine. Yes, I have seen your past but your past does not define you. Yes, it may shape who you are today but it does not hold you prisoner. You my sweet Jasper have made a choice to change and become a better man than you were. You never have to be that man again. You are my mate Jasper and I will be with you always remember that."

Jasper took a deep breath and placed his forehead on my own and we just sat there for a few silent moments and soaked in each others presence before he spoke. 

"Even though I know everything about you I think we should discuss what we should and shouldn't tell my family. I don't want them to know everything at least not right now with what's going on with Edward and Bella."

I nodded "I couldn't agree with you more my handsome tactician." with that line I felt his embarrassment. If he was still human he would have blushed and how I longed to see a blush on his cheeks but that will have to wait. 

Jasper started by saying, "I know there is a lot to go over with all of the powers you have but first I want to address the fact that this seems to be your second life." I started to panic because I didn't think he would be able to see those memories. Jasper just grabbed my hands and said, "It's ok, I'm not mad and I'm not going anywhere you are stuck with me." 

I relaxed a little and said, "I didn't know how to tell you that in the world I come from you are all just characters in a book. It's awkward even if God said he was changing things it worried me. I'm still worried you have your family and I know Alice isn't Alice but Archie and you are just best friends but I was so scared when I saw you at first and..." Jasper cut off my rambling with a kiss. It was the kind of kiss that stole your breath and made your toes curl. His right hand wrapped around the back of my head holding our mouths together possessively while his left pulled me closer to him by the waist. There was no space left between us and my breathing got faster and my slow heart rate sped up. I had my hand wrapped around his neck in an instant with my fingers pulling on his honey blond locks. It felt so right to be with him in this moment.

It was over too soon as jasper pulled back but left his forehead resting on mine as he said, "I am not going anywhere darlin and don't you forget it. I saw your memories and I know everything. Yea, it was shocking at first, but I am ok with it cause I realized God made this world just like he made your first world. He made us who we are and I finally know that I am not the soulless monster like Edward thinks we are. I finally understand somethings that made no sense before. This leads to my point I don't think we should tell my family about the whole book nonsense that would just confuse them. We can tell them about your powers but keep the baby thing a secret for now."

I went to argue with him over that but he stopped me with a finger to my lips and said, "I know you want to help Rose and Esme and I am thankful for that but with the newborn army on our heels we don't need Rose distracted she already hates Bella enough and we don't need potential offspring getting in the way of that. Plus you have never done anything like it so it might not work and we need to be sure before we go getting their hopes up."

I nodded and said, "Your right love, I'm sorry It's just that I know their stories and they break my heart I want to help them." Jasper sighed and said, "I know you do that's what makes you so special you want to help others before you think about your own safety." Chuckling slightly as his hold on my waist tightened he continued "I guess I will be the worrier and planner in our relationship." I reached up on my tip toes and kissed him softly on his lips before saying, "I guess so cowboy." He smiled down at me and lifted me while spinning my once in a circle before he placed me back on my feet in front of him.

He got serious after that though and said, "I mean it darlin we can't tell them about the baby thing, not yet anyway. We will tell them everything else minus the first life, meeting God and whole baby situation. Agreed?"

I sighed but said, "Agreed." 

Jasper let out a sigh I could tell he was relieved but also worried. I took his hand in mine just held his gaze for a while before he said, "As much as I would love to spend eternity just looking into your blue eyes I do believe I have to take you to meet my family before they start to worry about our whereabouts." I chuckled at this and jumped on his back and said, "Giddy up cowboy." Jasper let out a loud boisterous laugh and said, "Hold on tight darlin it's gonna be a bumpy ride." He took off and the trees began to blur into shades of green as we sped through the forest.
