Cordelia POV

Jasper reaches his hand out to me and I do the same. The second our hands meet my heart pearl glows and I know he is my soul mate. I will have to explain to him what that means and give him his heart pearl once we are alone. 'Before any of that happens though I have to talk to him' I think while giggling quietly to myself. After the glow fades I see Jasper with the biggest smile on his face but also confusion in his eyes I reach out to just him and say "I will tell you everything but we need to be alone to do it. Until then I will give a brief summary to everyone. Do you have somewhere we can be alone after this?" Jasper just nods his head and I turn to face everyone. Carlisle and Sam say in sink "What was that?" I giggle at their synchronicity and reach out again but this time to everyone present. "That was me finding my mate. Jasper is my soulmate. When a merfolk finds their other half our heart pearl glows so that everyone in the pod knows you have found your heart. I would love to answer more questions but I would like to speak to my mate alone first if possible."

Carlisle and Sam both nod in understanding while I am using everything in me to keep from throwing myself into Jasper's arms. He was always my favorite character in the books.

Jasper POV

She said I am hers and that her heart glows for me. I didn't know I could ever be this happy and even now I am slightly terrified of what this will lead to for us but I can't help but smile when she asks to be alone with me before talking to anyone else. So taking her hand I ask, "Is it ok if I carry you darlin?" She blushes and nods her head. I bend down so she can get on my back before we leave I say, "I'll see you at home Carlisle." He smiles at me while holding a smiling Esme to his side and says, "Take your time son, enjoy your time with Cordelia." With that and Cordelia safe on my back I take off into the distance. I head for my secret spot It's high in the mountains, there is a large lake and a water fall surrounded by flowers and trees.

I let Cordelia down and turn to face her, she smiles so brightly for me that if I still had to breath I would have lost my breath to her in that moment. She then opens her mind to me and says, "I have to talk to you like this until you accept my heart pearl and we merge our essences. Not that I'm trying to force you to accept my pearl but I... Ugh... I'm rambling without saying much of anything again. Can you please say something so I don't continue to embarrass myself like this."

At her rambling I laugh a full body laugh that I haven't done in ages but her flustered face is just so cute I can't help myself. She pouts at this and I say "I have no plans on rejecting you or your pearl darlin. You have no idea how long I have waited to have you in my life."

At my declaration she blushes and says "Ok... Will you accept me and my pearl then?" I nod and smile at her as her blue eyes almost shine with joy and it radiates off of her in waves. She pulls my hand and leads me to the shoreline of the lake and starts to disrobe and gestures for me to do the same. She is the most exquisite creature that I have ever seen. I take off all my clothes except my underwear and follow her into the water. She changes into her merfolk form and then says "We have to do this under the water. I'm glad you brought us somewhere that had a large enough body of water. Follow me mate" with that she is under the surface of the water I panic a little with her out of my sight but calm as I feel her emotions from the depths of the lake. 

I dive under the water and sink to the bottom of the lake. Cordelia swims over to me and I can finally see her under the water her hair is everywhere and her scales almost glow beneath the water. She is gorgeous and the only thought I could muster in that moment is that I am so lucky that she is mine. 

Cordelia Swam up to me and pulled me towards her while blushing. She spoke to my mind again and said, "I...Um... We have to kiss for this next part. I wont be able to talk with you after that until after we finish. promise me you won't leave or freak out." I couldn't speak while under the water so I just nodded to her and she began. Cordelia leaned in put her hands on my chest and placed a chaste kiss to my lips. It was in that moment I felt my world shift she was my center. She was my everything I pulled her in placing my hands on her sides and deepened the kiss. Cordelia pulled away all to soon in my opinion. I could have kissed her until the end of time and been content with her in my arms, but she had something she needed to finish for us so I let her go. Her chest began to glow brighter and brighter as her smiler grew. A small pearl floated from her chest and she cradled it in her palms. She took the pearl in her left hand and placed her right on my chest I felt a warm sensation as a navy blue substance began to leave my own chest. This Is where I almost freaked out but Cordelia just smiled at me and I forced myself to stay for her. She brought the pearl and the substance together a pushed them into one another the blue liquid seemed to melt into the pearl. A soft glow began to radiate from it, Cordelia then took the pearl and placed in onto my chest as it then started to meld with me. Here is where I should have lost it but with Cordelia's hands on my chest and the utter joy and love I felt from her I just stood there under the water and watched her entranced by her. When she finished she kissed me again but this time I felt everything from her so much more clearly. It's in that moment that she let me see her life it was like I was her but yet not her all at once I knew everything about her and that left me speechless. I didn't think I would even know another person as well as I know myself but with her doing this it felt like I had know her forever. If she wasn't my world before she is now. I could feel the pearl pulse in my chest It's like I can feel her heartbeat through it and it is a blissful feeling. I have her heart in my heart and it beats for her. We break the kiss and I just stare at her. She smiles and points up, so we head to the surface to have our talk.
