21 Hospital & Cullens

General POV

Hadrian's words calmed down not only Alice, but also Edward. Bella had trusted Hadrian with her life since he saved her as a child, so she didn't panic at all once Hadrian grabbed her.

Edward, Alice and Bella watched as the van reached Hadrian's finger tips and slowed down as he slowly pulled his arm back. The van came to a stop before reaching his body.

"How?..." Alice started to ask before Edward interrupted her.

"Alice! Let's go." he said before taking off over the bed of the truck.

"Hadrian, are you okay?" Bella asked, completely ignoring the two vampires as they retreated.

"I have grown much stronger since we were kids, Bella." was all Hadrian said with a smile before the students started to swarm them.

After too many questions asking if they were okay, Hadrian and Bella were 'forced' into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

...

Hadrian's POV

"I told you we were fine." I said to the nurse as she removed the arm band from my arm.

"I'm just doing my job." she defended herself.

"Umhm." I responded skeptically.

As she was walking away shaking her head, still holding her number written on a piece of paper as Charlie walked in.

"Bella, Hadrian. Are you both okay?" Charlie asked us before noticing the boy next to us. "You and I are going to talk."

"We're fine, Dad." Bella answered.

"We aren't hurt. Being stuck in this bed hurts more than anything else that happened today." I said, earning a smile from both Bella and Charlie.

"You can kiss your license goodbye." Charlie told the boy before the doors opened again.

"I heard the Chiefs kids were here." Carlisle said.

"Dr. Cullen." Charlie greeted.

"Charlie." Carlisle responded. "I can take it from here."

"Isabella." Carlisle started.

"Bella." she corrected.

"Bella. Looks like you had a scare. No bumps or bruises. Not even an elevated heartbeat from stress. I guess I don't need to worry about PTSD from you." Carlisle said.

"No. My Brother was there to save me...again." she said.

"Yes, I've read the reports. A ten year old fighting off two grizzlies to save his six year old cousin made headlines." Carlisle said.

"We don't talk about that." I said without looking at Carlisle.

"It almost killed him. She was nearly dragged into the woods before he jumped in the way and took the attack on himself." Charlie explained to Carlisle with a shaking voice.

"You raised him well, it seems." Carlisle said.

"I tried, but he pretty much raised himself." Charlie said with a fond smile.

"Back on topic. Are we cleared to go? We still have plans for the weekend." I said impatiently.

"I see nothing wrong with you both. Charlie, if you want to sign them both out?" Carlisle asked.

"Ya...Bella.....you should probably call your mom." Charlie said quietly.

"Did you tell her?!" Bella asked.

Charlie's only response was a shrug

"That's just, great. She's probably just freaking out." Bella said as she walked around the corner, pulling out her cell phone.

"I'll go with her. Just go sign us out. We still need to get her car home before we leave." I told Charlie.

"Alright. She'd probably never forgive me if I forced you to cancel this trip anyway." Charlie said as he walked away.

Walking around the corner, I noticed Bella wasn't on the phone, but talking to Edward and Alice. Noticing me, Edward went silent while Alice walked up to me.

"Can we talk?" Alice asked me.

"Sure. But I'm not leaving my sister's sight." I said.

"That's fine." she responded as we walked down the hall.

"So...how did you stop the van?" Alice asked when we were out of Bellas earshot.

"How did you get to me so quickly?" I countered.

"I was right next to you." she lied.

"So you can lie to me, but expect me to expose my secrets? Don't forget that you started asking the personal questions, not me." I said.

Looking down, she took a few seconds to respond "I can't say."

"That's fine. But if you want my secrets, you need to be willing to divulge some of your own." I told her seriously.

"Okay. What's your name?" she asked, seemingly more energetic.

"Hadrian Swan. Yours?" I asked.

"Alice Cullen!" she said holding out her hand.

"It's an honor to meet you Ms Cullen." I said before gently placing a kiss on her knuckles.

Hearing a Gasp from down the hall, we both turned to see Bella and Edward staring at us in shock.

""What?"" we both asked in confusion.

""Nothing!"" they both responded at the same time.

"Alright. It was a pleasure to meet you, Ms Cullen. However Bella and I have plans to leave the country..." I started to say.

""Leave the country??"" Edward and Alice asked at the same time.

As i was taking a deep breath to calm down, Bella finished my sentence "...for the weekend."

""Oh!"" they both replied.

"So are you going to let go of her hand or is she joining us?" Bella asked mischievously.

Looking down I realized our hands were still entangled. Releasing her hand, I tried letting go just for her hand to tighten its grip.

"Where are you going?" Alice asked, while Edward was also interested in knowing.

"Nagasaki." I responded.

"It is beautiful there this time of year." Edward said.

"Well, we're going for the sights, but we're foodies so we're going to eat lots of stall foods. There is a festival there this weekend so we're going to dress up in kimonos and enjoy ourselves." I responded.

(Idk what times of year this stuff happens over there so I'll just peg it up as an AU thing)

"How are you getting there so fast? A plane would take like twelve hours." Alice said.

"Personal spacecraft." I replied easily.

"How did you afford one? They're so expensive!" Alice asked.

"I helped build and design them." I said.

"Employee discount?" Edward thought aloud.

"You could say that." was all I said.

"So, when you get back...do you want to hang out?" Alice asked me.

"I don't mind hanging out." I said before starting to mess with her. "But I don't know how your father would like it if he found out his high school daughter was hanging out with a twenty two year old." I said, smirking internally.

Alice realized this would be tougher than she thought.

"So long as you aren't hurting her, he won't care." Edward was quick to respond.

"Maybe, but my Uncle might." I said as we continued to walk towards the exit with Alice still refusing to release my hand. Not that I was actively trying to remove it.

"I might have a problem with what?" Charlie asked, walking around the corner with Carlisle.

"With a high schooler wanting to hang out with me." I replied before anyone else could say anything.

After looking at Alice for a few seconds and seeing that our hands were intertwined, Charlie turned to Carlisle and asked "How old is she?"

"Seventeen. I don't care so long as you keep it..." he looked for the right words before saying "...PG?"

After thinking for a few seconds, Charlie gave his opinion "PG works for me. Just don't forget that she's a minor, Hadrian." Charlie said as seriously as he could, but you could see the mischievous glint in his eyes.

Trying my best to not blush, I responded "That's why I was having an issue with her request to hang out. If it's with others, I don't mind so much. Unfortunately, I spend a LOT of time alone and I don't think she'd want to spend that much time waiting while I'm working."

"That's true. He does spend days at a time at work." Charlie told her seriously.

"That's fine. At least I'd know where he's at." Alice responded seriously.

"Well, since that's all taken care of, don't you two have a trip to prepare for?" Charlie asked.

Realizing we were getting late, Bella and I took off like bullets out the exit doors.

It was only after I released Alice's hand that I felt like something was missing.

And unknown to me, while I was running my scars were exposed at the top of my back when my shirt was fluttering around. I didn't hear the gasp from Alice, but Charlie did and explained the basics of what happened to her when he noticed what she saw.

That story convinced her to heal every inch of the scars all over his body.
