Chapter 5

CHAPTER 5: Learning

In the following days and weeks, Hope and I have warmed up to the couple, and I propose for them to stay for a bit longer. To which they accepted, Lucas then decided to teach me some stuff such as how to properly shoot a bow, hunt, skin and cook animals, how to properly cut a tree and how to fix some common household problems. While Max took care of Hope. Though, sometimes we rotate for them to spend some time together aswell. We also explored the town, and they told me some secret(not really) places they found when they were kids.

But all good things must come to an end, it seems, as they told me that they will continue on their quest to find their precious friends.

"Are you really leaving?" I Sadly questioned with Hope once again clinging onto me, though she has gotten heavier on these past few weeks.

"Sadly, yes, we need to find Dustin... another one of our friends." Max replied with a small smile.

"Can't we go with you?" I hopefully said.

"No, both of you are safe here more than ever." Lucas rejects my request with Max nodding.

"..."

Max hugged both me and Hope and said. "Take care of Hope."

"..... I will. " I quietly replied as the memories of me promising the same thing to my parents resurfaced.

Then Hope started to reach her arms out to them and began wailing.

'seems like they have grown into her.' I sung a lullaby, and she calmed down albeieth

I watched as they went out and dissappear from my range.

"Stay safe." I muttered as I returned inside the cabin and started doing the chores that are left undone with Hope still clinging though this she's at my back looking over my shoulder, instead of my chest.

Many seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years have passed since, and a lot has occurred during those times.

Year One.

Hope has started to crawl somehow... even I a reincarnator didn't manage to do this feat she also became talkative babbling stuff here and there. I worked on strengthening the cabin as Hope's strength is increasing, and she sometimes accidentally destroys furniture or her toys and also creates some baby size holes on the cabins' walls.

Year Two.

I started to do gardening as I discovered that the animals don't appear more often than it should. This should probably reset it and make more animals roam around the surrounding forest. Hope has also become more adventurous and moody as one time when she's crying as she couldn't reach the blue plastic cup, and when I gave it to her, she threw a tantrum! Like, seriously! I gave her what she wanted, and now she is crying! Because she has it. I don't understand babies at all. Her hybrid side grew, and she now has hairs covering her entire body except for her hands and face... it seems like it came in late. She now looks more gorilla like but without the monkey face.

Year Three.

I once again decided to go to town and visit the library over there and I brought back tons of books ranging from Geography, Pyshics, Mathematics, Novels, Herbology, Zoology, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, History, a children's story that Hope picked and much more. I carried them back using a grocery cart.

Year Four

I mastered the use of bow and I decided to train Hope for her to control her own strength, as our cabin is becoming more of a junkyard with how many furnitures and utensils got destroyed and with how many times I visited the town to get a new furniture or utensils.

Year Five

Lucas and Max came back along with their friends Dustin, Mike, Jane, Erica, and Steve, an old dude. And this is where I found out that they were indeed who my mom was talking about but I kept it from myself and Hope was confused as to who they are, of course she would not remember it. Anyway, they bonded pretty, and while they're bonding, Steve told me tales about his "awesome hair," as he calls it. They told me that they are departing, so Hope and I joined them as they seem like good people.

Year Six

We didn't stay in one area as the last are pretty stubborn. I even got the name "The Wraight of Winter," as they say. But that was just a one-time... well, two time thing when they took Hope saying she was a hybrid and they did it at my birthday! Let's just say all of them fell asleep freezing. Then, old Great hair Steve died. Yeah, that's pretty sad. i even found a wig similar to his and placed it on his tomb to pay my respects. though, I didn't get it why Lucas and the others laughed at me doing it. And a preserve for hybrids popped up. Oh, I also started to school, Hope.

Year Seven

Jane told me the truth about what happened to the town of Hawkins, and let's say I'm grateful that they vanquished that vecna guy, and I also revealed to them my past... this past and Dustin told me that he heard some of the last men years ago talking about a new recruit, the guy studies plant, and if that guy is who I think he is... he'll have a hell of a beating once I make sure he is my dad. I am leaving both Hope and I alone for many years, and I have a question to ask. Wait... if he is with the last men then.... where is mom?

Year Eight

The Wraight of Winter is back... the last men they... they killed Dustin and Erica...

If Jane still has her powers right now... anyway, I slaughtered five camps of the last men, making my kill count to 12,831... and I came back home, and I found Hope terrified not to the last men but to me... and whenever I tried to approach her, she ran away and hides so I called the preserve even though Jane and Max went against it while Mike silently sided with them as he knows not to anger a woman. And hopefully, in the preserve, she will feel safe with her kind. I also left to go on my own journey, and in Colorado, I got injured, and a woman is nursing me back to health, and now I stayed at her home though she have one rule... never go to the attic.
