63 The Trek

*SLAP*

The sound generated by Mizuki bitch slapping the genin was clean and crisp.

The sound was so distinct and loud, that it could be heard miles around, as the sound echoed throughout the forest.

The victim of the attack; a boy who was about to spray fire all over his assailent, turned and spewed his fire towards his teammates.

Two orbs of fire, both the size of basketballs, could be seen flying towards the genin's two teammates.

Luckily for them, they were able to get out of the way of the attack just on time, just barely escaping unscathed, with some of their clothes even being slightly singed by the attack.

The attacks which missed the boys, hit the trees behind them, causing a large screen of smoke to emerge as the orbs of fire hit the trunks of the large trees.

Fortunaetly, it had rained the night before, making the bark of the trees harder to ignite.

Had this coincidence not occured, there was the potential to start a forest fire.

Mizuki looked towards his opponent, a rare look addorned upon his face.

One of pure disdain.

Mizuki did not really care about most people, after all, who they were and how they acted was their buisness and not his.

However, when people acted like they were oh so important and didn't have anything to back it up.

Well then, those people were truly among the worst in society in Mizuki's opinion.

Mizuki simply grabbed the genin by his collar and slammed him against a tree which was directly behind him.

Mizuki: "That was just pitiful. Now, where is your scroll."

The genin looked towards Mizuki with a look of anger, causing the boy to let loose a light chuckle.

Mizuki: "You can be pissed off at me all you want, doesn't change the fact that your a waste. Now. I will ask for the last time."

Mizuki: "Where. The fuck. Is your scroll."

The genin relented, handing him a heaven scroll which he had hidden inside his jacket.

Mizuki let loose a smile, his previous attitude seemingly vanishing as he grabbed the scroll and pocketed it.

Mizuki: "Thanks. See, that wasn't too hard now was it?"

The genin stayed silent, still looking towards Mizuki with the same look of hate.

Mizuki: "Good Chat."

Mizuki: "Well, as much fun as that was, I believe we will be leaving now, but first..."

Mizuki chopped the back of all three of the genin's necks, making it so that they would faint for roughly two hours.

Mizuki then summoned two shadow clones and had them take two of the genin and scatter them in random directions, if for no other reason then spite and to try to prevent more teams from passing the second phase.

Mizuki: "Nice! we got the scroll we needed first try, lucky!"

Anko: "Wait, so we finished our task already?! That must seriously be a record"

Anko's eyes quickly gained a mischevious gleam to them as she looked towards Mizuki.

Anko: "You know what that means..."

Mizuki looked towards her with a questioning gaze.

Anko: "FIVE DAYS OF REST AND RELAXATION!"

Anko had a look of sheer joy on her face. Whilst she could certainly hold her own as a Kunoichi, that did not change the fact that some part of her was still the little brat at the academy who would sleep through the teacher's ramblings alongside Mizuki.

Idate: "..."

The group then proceded to leap through the forest, expertly navigating through the branches as they made their way towards the tower in order to finish the exam.

Along the way however, there were some minor disturbances, When they were halfway to the Tower, they noticed that another team was approaching them, no doubt to rob them of their scroll.

Mizuki suggested that they simply hide their chakra signatures and body flicker away, but his idea was vehemntly opposed by his two teammates.

"You already had your fun, let us have ours"

They both replied.

And so, Mizuki and his two teammates continued towards the Tower at their normal pace, not changing their course in the least for their assailents.

Idate and Anko played Rock, Paper, Sciccors over who would get this team with Anko winning, much to Idate's dissmay.

Soon enough, the group of genin appeared and, as one would expect, demanded their scroll.

However, Anko was having none of it, as before the genin could even finish their threats, she attacked.

Anko: "Suiton: Wild Water Wave!"

She then exhaled as a large pillar of water shot out of her mouth, engulfing the three genin.

As they could not dodge in time, they could only try to block it.

Whilst one of them was swept away in the current, the other two were able to create walls of earth around themselves.

Just barely being able to finish before the tide slammed against their walls.

However, the smirk never left Anko's face, as she then threw two senbon which flew towards each of the earth walls, both of which were imbued with lighting.

Anko: "Raiton: Electrification!"

However, she was not done as she continued to weave handsigns before using the jutsu that would end the fight.

Anko: "Shuriken Shadowclone Jutsu!"

The electrified senbon quickly doubled, then trippled, before there were soon dozens of electrified senbon rushing towards the walls of earth.

Anko aimed the senbon perfectly, as they all pierced the weakpoints of walls, dealing extra damage due to the elemental effect.

The now electrified water quickly burst through these weakpoints of the wall as they engulfed and shocked the genin behind them, ending the fight.

Much the same as the last battle, they took their scroll and then they scattered the teammates.

After reducing their competition in the third phase by one less team, the group continued onwards towards the tower, continuing at a relatively leisurely pace.

However, another incident occured yet again as they sensed another team approaching.

Idate: "About time"

It was almost comical as Idate did not wait for them to even start their threats before attacking them.

Idate: "Futon: Vacuum Wave"

Idate took a deep breath before spinning in the direction of the three genin and exhaling, creating a series of wind blades which rapidly covered the area in which the genin were in.

and although one of them was able to body fliccker away from the attack, the other two were caught in it, resulting in several gashes covering their bodies.

Not enough to kill them, but only just barely.

Idate let loose a "tsk" sound in dissastisfaction at his failure before drawing a kunai and leaping towards where the genin had body flickered to.

Idate: "Futon: Vacuum Blade"

His kunai then became smothered in wind chakra as it took the shape of a scitimar, which Idate swung down ruthleslly at his opponent, creating a large gash along his chest.

The genin then fell out of the tree tops, speeding towards the ground at a speed which would surely kill him in additon to his previous wound.

However, just as he was about to land, Mizuki caught him gently before begining to heal him, looking towards Idate with a glare whilst doing so.

Mizuki: "Idate, I don't give a shit about how you handle your enemies, but when you are implicating me, then we start to have issues."

Idate also let loose a glare at Mizuki, the tension in the air starting to rise.

However, as suddenly as the tension arrised, it left, with Idate and Mizuki going back to their own buisness.

Mizuki finished healing the unknown genin before taking their scroll and scattering the teammates, similar to what they did with the previous two teams.

With that obstacle finally passed, the group continued towards the tower, still at a leisurely pace.

Thankfully, the group encountered no more obstacles, and by the time the genin had arrived at the tower, it was already mid afternoon.

The proctor was clealy surprised at having a group arrive so early in the exam, as most teams only started to arrive after the first night.

As the group had wasted their time for the exam, stopping for unnecasary fights and only approaching the tower at a leasure pace rather than their max speed, they had not achieved the record, or were even the first team to pass this year.

Rather, they were exactly thirty minutes away from the eight hour record, which was set by the future fourth hokage, Minato Namikaze.[1]

The first team to arrive for this exam, had arrived five minutes before them, and belonged to Kakashi and his team, which was to be expected, as expected of a prodigy.[2]

And so, with the exam complete, the team was aloud into the tower, much to their joy, as they could have a nice place to sleep tonight, unlike the majority of their competition.

[1] This is something I made up, couldn't find Minato's Forest of Death Records so I just made one up that was longer than Itachi's.

[2] Aight, so I get that Kakashi got his chunin rank at 6, but he is the same age as Obito (according to the wiki), but we can also clearly see that he is competing in the same chunin exam as Obito, despite alledgedly getting chunin years prior. So although this is a plot hole, in canon it would either mean that: a. Kakashi's age on the wiki is wrong, or b. Kakashi got chunin later than age 6, I decided to go with option B here because having Kakashi be like 10 years old when the Kyuubi is unleashed would be weird.
