First Day at the Academy Pt 2

Deciding to talk with the infamous Uchiha later, Mizuki went up to the cafeteria and got his tray before finding a seat next to Iruka.

Iruka: "Hey Mizuki, Taijutsu was exhausting huh?"

As much as Mizuki hated to admit it, although he ended up learning very little in the taijutsu class it was still exhausting with all of the physical activities the class required.

Hearing the growl in his stomach, Mizuki let loose a light chuckle before diving into the meal that they were provided, a bowl of rice accompanied by a couple strips of beef.

The entire class desperately gobbled up their meals, all having a similar sense of fatigue after going through hours of straight physical training.

However, upon glancing up Mizuki noticed an outlier.

Shisui appeared to be completely fine, eating his meal in a slow and dignified manner.

Clearly, the boy had already been through some sort of shinobi training since he was young.

Mizuki: "As expected of one of the most powerful clans in the Leaf"

Mizuki muttered to himself softly.

Lunch quickly came to a close all to quickly, much to the complaints of several of the children, and they all moved on to their next period class, ninjutsu.

The entire period was a surprisingly useful for Mizuki as although they were only talking about hand seals, It was a good refresher of what he remembered from the show and also helped him get the hand positions into muscle memory.

"Gotta add this to my training regiment as well"

Mizuki thought to himself as he continued to complete the in class exercises.

Whilst Mizuki already knew most of the material in some capacity, he purposefully botched his scores so as not to draw attention to himself.

Whilst the Old Mizuki certainly wasn't stupid, he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box either.

So, considering it to be for the best, Mizuki decided to stay in roughly the top five for most theoretical subjects, making to score higher than the civilian children, yet lower than the clan brats.

In most Ninja related subjects though, Mizuki did not have to fake his mediocrity as although he was an avid watcher of the show, It still never went in depth on the method of controlling chakra.

Mizuki was finalizing his schemes in last period, Ninja World History.

He was sitting next to Iruka in this class yet again and although the latter was vigorously taking notes on the lesson content, our MC was busy with other issues.

Mizuki: {Inspecting my chakra pool and the Old Mizuki's memories, it appears that my chakra levels are a bit above average, Maybe a good way to gain power would be to become a sage?}

Thoughts like these were racing through our MC's brain a mile a minute until he heard the sound of the bell chiming, indicating the end of classes for the day.

Anxious to start his personal training, Mitzuki rushed out the door, not forgetting to give Iruka an excuse of still feeling off from the previous day's antics.

His first stop, was to a vendor that sold chakra paper.

These types of places were few and far between but interestingly, Mizuki was able to find it at TenTen's Shop.

Although it was operated by her father right now due to how Tenten wasn't even born yet.

Deciding to also buy a dozen shuriken and several kunai whilst he was there, alongside a pouch to keep them all with him, Mizuki glanced down at his ever thinning wallet.

Good thing for him that payday was near the end of the month rather than the beginning. Although, he would need to get by on lots of instant ramen for the next few days.

Rushing back home, Mizuki slammed the door behind him as soon as he entered his apartment, anxious to see his results.

Holding the Chakra Paper in his hands, Mizuki's thoughts were racing a mile a minute.

The results of this test would change the course of Mizuki's Ninja Career. This piece of paper could determine Mizuki's entire future.

After anxiously staring at the paper in his hands for five minutes, Mizuki took a deep breath. He would be a ninja. Regardless of the results.

A new look of determination appeared in the young boy's eye as he channeled his Chakra into the slip of paper between the boy's hands.

And then it happened. The left half of the paper started to crumble to dust whilst the right half caught aflame and started to burn.

"Fire and Earth" Mizuki muttered to himself as he watched the chakra paper slowly vanish before his eyes in a mixture of burning and erosion.

He was hoping to at least have lightning or wind release as one of his elemental transformations as they both appeared to be the most powerful on the show and he knew how to level them up.

No major characters really used earth or fire as their main attacks. Sure, you see fire and earth jutsu thrown around in the show, but seriously, even when sasuke used fire jutsu against naruto, unless they were powered by a magic eyeball they didn't do shit.

Earth Style was rarely used by any of the main cast in the show. Kakashi notably used it against the genin but beyond that the style itself was mainly defensive. It took hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of earth walls to block a single tailed beast bomb from the ten tails.

(To all of you who talked about how it's not that weak bc Madara could use both well: I would just like to point out that 1. The meteor wasn't earth style, it was a rinnegan technique that use bansho tenin, and 2. of course his fire style jutsu are good, because he is MADARA FUCKING UCHIHA)

Sighing at his bad luck, Mizuki could only hope that he had Yin or Yang Release as well. They weren't revealed via the Chakra Paper and having either of them would be invaluable.

Whilst the former would open up access to utilizing all sorts of genjutsu and widening his arsenal, the former would allow him to use Medical Ninjutsu which would make him all the more powerful.

Sighing at his apparent mediocracy yet again, Mitsuki started to train. Luckily, the Academy already provided Mizuki with the textbooks they would be using for the entire year.

So Mizuki spent the remainder of his second day in this brand new world studying a textbook and practicing hand seals.
