Chapter 18: Another Timeskip

(Timeskip: 1 Year)

*Third Person POV*

-Takoba Municipal Beach Park-

"Behind you, Midoriya! Dodge!"

Without even looking to confirm, Midoriya immediately dodged and rolled to the left.

Right afterwards, a dark purple orb hit the spot he was just at.

When it hit the ground, the orb expanded and detonated, creating a small purple dome of electricity. It crackled violently before disappearing.

Seeing this, Midoriya's sweat dropped. If it wasn't for Denki's timely warning, he would have been at the center of that.

He didn't even want to imagine what he would experience after being hit by such an attack.

"Thanks, Kaminari! You saved me." He said to his trusted training partner.

"Don't thank me just yet. I lost sight of Oz again. I'm not as good at sensing electricity as my sister. I can only sense him just before he makes an attack." Denki replied while still being vigilant.

After a year of training together, the two of them had developed a close relationship. It was inevitable since they only had each other to rely on while training (suffering) under Kirari's harsh regime.

They stood back-to-back, on guard against the unseen opponent.

After a while of observing their surroundings and not spotting Oz, Denki started to feel that something was off. They were in an open space that they cleaned up in the beach park, yet they couldn't spot an out-of-place purple raven.

It was then, Denki sensed an electric ball moving towards them at a high speed. The source was coming from directly above them!

'Damn! Oz built up his attack and fired from outside of my sensing range!'

He instantly determined that it was too late to warn Midoriya and dodge at the same time. One of them would have to take the hit.

He knew that Midoriya's electric resistance was lower than his, so it wasn't a hard decision to make. Without hesitation, he rammed into Midoriya and pushed him out of the attack radius.

Midoriya only had time to look back at Denki and see him smiling at him while giving a thumbs up.

"Kaminari!"

*BZZT*

The Electro-ball attack, that Kirari based off the tailed-beast ball from a ninja anime, hit Denki and detonated.

Denki's figure was shrouded behind the crackling purple electric dome.

When it dissipated, Midoriya immediately ran to Denki who had fallen on the sandy ground, his clothes slightly charred.

"Kaminari! Are you okay?!" He asked while checking Denki's state.

"*Cough* I'm still alive. But I'm barely breathing…" Denki replied. Surprisingly, he still hadn't short-circuited.

This was not their first training session with Oz and Kirari.

After completing their foundations for growth, Kirari gave them more advanced training.

During training, Kirari had been secretly using Electro-therapy to strengthen them.

Over the course of one year, they had been shocked, stunned, and electrocuted an uncountable number of times.

The results of the training paid off though, as shown by the lean muscles developing on the two boys.

Their reflexes, reaction speed, and tolerance to pain and electricity increased. Denki's wattage limit had boosted by a good amount too.

"… You should run now, Midoriya. The goal of this training session was to survive for 30 minutes against Oz. It's only been 20 minutes. I'm… already spent."

"No! We will make it through together! Don't give up!" Midoriya tried to encourage Denki.

"There's no way… I'm still numb from the last attack. Also, look up."

At Denki's words, Midoriya looked to the sky and saw Oz.

Oz had grown a lot in the past year. He now looked just like his original counterpart from Genshin Impact. He had also grown more intelligent thanks to Kirari's upbringing, enough to take independent actions without Kirari around.

Up in the sky, Oz was preparing an extra-large Electro-ball above the two boys.

*Gulp*

Midoriya gulped a mouthful of saliva upon seeing it.

"See? In my current state, there's no way I can avoid that. There is no point in both of us getting done in, so you should escape while you still have the chance. You already know what failing means…" Denki stated.

Midoriya shuddered upon hearing Denki's words.

In order to motivate them into training seriously, Kirari implemented the carrot and stick method.

If they can achieve the goal of the training session, she would give them rewards like a painless Electro-therapy strengthening massage, or a limited-edition All Might action figure.

As for failing… Let's just say that to level up Oz, he needs to attack or kill things…

Midoriya clenched his fists. He looked at his partner who had sacrificed himself for him.

He built up his resolve and spoke without stuttering,

"… No. I'm tired of running away. Like what Kamin- I mean, Kirari-san said before, I don't want to be the kind of hero that keeps backing down! If you go down, I would be too ashamed to go on without you. I wouldn't have made it this far without your help anyways. Even if I run, it wouldn't be long until Oz takes me down. Plus… I guess I could use a little more electric resistance."

His words were more to convince himself than Denki. He gave Denki a bright smile, trying to emulate All Might.

"Midoriya… Damn, that's pretty cool of you to say that." Denki said admiring Midoriya's resolve.

Not wanting to lose out, he forced himself to get up.

"Ugh. It's been a while since I've pushed myself this much. Guess now's a better time than never." He smiled back at Midoriya who placed his arm over his shoulder to support him.

Together, they looked up at Oz who just finished firing the massive Electro-ball towards them.

It was way too late to run now. Honestly, they were scared out of their wits.

However, they knew that Kirari would never take things too far.

They believe in the saying she always says, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger."

Seeing first-hand their improvements and the results of her training, all doubts they had at first were gone by now.

If Kirari could hear their thoughts, she would say, "What perfect little sheep I have raised. Bwahaha!"

Seeing the approaching violet ball of doom that encroached the sunlight, they couldn't help but clench their teeth, pucker their cheeks, and shout,

""Go above and beyond! PLUS ULTRA!!!""

*BZZZZZZZZT*

-Kaminari House-

Inside her family's garage, Kirari was tinkering with some mechanical parts while observing the fight by sharing senses with Oz. She had trained to be able to turn the sense-sharing on or off whenever she wanted.

'My Lady. Mission accomplished.' Using their telepathic connection, Oz reported to Kirari.

She saw through Oz's eyes that the two had been knocked unconscious by his last attack and were comically laying on top of one another.

She could also feel that Oz was trying to say, "Praise me, praise me!" in her mind without actually saying it.

'Un. I saw. Well done, Oz. I can see that you have grown much stronger than last time. Use "Little Crow" mode to drag their bodies back home. I'll come up with their punishment later. Oh, and keep up the good work.'

'Understood.'

After feeling Oz's elation at the praise and cutting their connection, Kirari got back to what she was working on. After tightening a few screws, she called out to her friend,

"Mei! I finished this part. How's it going on your end?"

On a table a few meters away, Mei Hatsume, Kirari's genius friend, was using her quirk, Zoom, to finish the final touches on their current project.

"I just finished too! Hand me your part and I will attach it." She spoke.

"Here you go." Kirari handed Mei the part she was working on.

She quickly assembled the final product and then proudly raised it in the air.

"Behold! My adorable baby number 18!"

In her hands were a pair of black inline skates with two wheels.

"I think you mean OUR adorable baby..." Kirari said.

'… Wait. What did I just say? Ugh. I've been spending too much time with Mei. Her personality is starting to rub off on me.' Kirari belatedly realized.

"… What I meant to say was, this prototype is the result of our combined effort."

"Yes, yes. Sure. Now, what are you waiting for? We need to test and see if it works!" Mei said excitedly, wanting her best friend to try using their new invention.

Kirari nodded in agreement, also excited to test it out. But then, she shook her head.

"As much as I want to, we don't have time. We need to-"

"Kirari! Hatsume-san! It's almost time to go! Are you ready?"

As if on cue, a loud voice coming from the house interrupted her.

The voice calling them came from Kirari's dad.

He was calling to let them know that it was almost time for them to head to a scheduled meeting.

After hearing his call, Kirari and Mei jumped into action.

They quickly cleaned up the tools they were using and washed up in the bathroom.

After grabbing a suitcase that they prepared earlier and shoving the invention they just created inside, they rushed to the front door where Haruto was waiting with Kirari's mom.

"Good luck at your meeting, Dear." Hikari said while giving Haruto a kiss shamelessly in front of the two children. "And to you two as well."

""Hai."" Kirari and Mei replied monotonously.

Mei, who had stayed over in preparation for today's meeting, was unaffected by the sight. Kirari was already used to her parents' public displays of affection.

'Ever since mom got pregnant a few months ago, they've been acting more and more lovey-dovey. What happened to my mom's strong pro hero persona that kept my dad whipped??? Haaa. Oh well. I can't wait for my little brother or sister to be born~' Kirari thought.

After raising and taking care of Oz, who grew from a smol chick to a big boi (bird), Kirari's "motherly" instincts were awakened.

This combined with her desire to experience what it's like to have older and younger siblings since in her previous life she was an only child.

Through subtle manipulations, she was able to "convince" her parents and get the result she wanted.

"Don't worry dear. After personally talking with these two for the past few months, I can tell that they already have this meeting in the bag." Haruto said.

Just last month, he had finally finished setting up everything and registering the company.

It was called the Goro-Goro Company, after Kirari's suggestion.

"Goro-Goro" is the onomatopoeic sound when thunder is rumbling or something big and heavy is rolling.

Haruto thought that it was a perfect name since the company's main products were electronics, and that it was about to roll in big changes to the market.

Kirari and Mei had been hired as specialists who focus on design development.

Haruto also hired most of the employees that his old company had fired.

There was only one thing missing before the company can start the production of their first product, and that was material suppliers.

In order to save on production costs and make the product cheaper, Haruto was hoping to find a local supplier here in Japan instead of importing from other countries.

The meeting they were going to was to see if they could convince a certain supplier to form a partnership with the Goro-Goro Company.

"If they aren't convinced by the end of my and Mei's presentation, then it will be their loss!" Kirari arrogantly declared.

"Yeah!" Mei agreed wholeheartedly.

Before the meeting even took place, they were already acting like the other party was the one that needed them, instead of the other way around which was the case.

It was because of this confident attitude and Mei's natural-born salesperson personality that they were able to score the other partnerships and contracts that Goro-Goro Company now has.

Afterall, how can those old coots from big companies reject two cute loli's presenting a very promising and lucrative deal?

"Hahaha! Glad you guys are in high spirits. Then, let's head out. Time to show them what you got." Haruto said.

With that, the three of them got in the car and headed to the meeting with one of Japan's biggest suppliers.

The Yaoyorozu family.

Chapter End.

A/N:

I don't think it was explained how Yaoyorozu's family became so rich. Based on her quirk and quirk inheritance, I made this assumption.

I feel like I crammed too much information in this chapter. It was a shorter time skip than last time, and I wanted to explain the important stuff that happened to get it out of the way. Next chapter is probably going to be similar though. Ugh.

Sorry for the wide gap in releases. I need to fly overseas next week so I'm kind of busy preparing my requirements along with work. There's also the new event in Genshin…
