Ch-2: Capturing a New friend

As Marcus and Pikachu ventured onward, a shadow from the past cast itself upon their path, in the form of a Spearow. Marcus spotted it circling overhead and felt a sense of déjà vu. It was the same Spearow that had relentlessly pursued Ash and his Pikachu in the animated series, eventually evolving into a powerful Fearow and leading a fierce flock.

The memory of that Spearow's transformation and power prompted Marcus to seize this opportunity. He knew that capturing this particular Spearow would not only be a testament to their growth as a team but also that spearow was an alpha controlling a flock/ herd of spearow.

Before taking action, Marcus turned his trusty Pokédex toward the spearow

Having this information at his fingertips allowed Marcus to strategize effectively during their encounter with the fierce Spearow and make informed decisions to strengthen his partnership with Pikachu. He said to Pikachu get ready now is time to complete our deal.

Pikachu's response was not in words, but rather a series of distinct sounds— "Pika, pika! Chu, chu!" It was as if Pikachu was talking back to Marcus in its unique language, conveying agreement and acceptance of the deal.

Understanding their mission, Pikachu prepared to attack. However, when Marcus commanded, "Pikachu, use Thunder Shock on that Spearow!" Pikachu hesitated. It wasn't about defiance but more about questioning the plan. Marcus recognized the doubt in Pikachu's eyes.

In response, Marcus spoke directly to his partner, "Pikachu, I know you're not sure about this, but please trust me. I've seen this Spearow before, and we need to catch it. I promise, once we're done with this, we'll focus on your freedom and your journey."

This heartfelt plea seemed to resonate with Pikachu. The trust between them was still fragile, but Marcus's sincerity shone through. With a determined look, Pikachu nodded and released a powerful bolt of electricity towards the Spearow, just as it was circling overhead.

The impact was intense, but when the smoke and sparks cleared, the Spearow remained standing, its feathers bristling with defiance. It was a formidable opponent, much like the Fearow in the animated series. In response, the Spearow retaliated with a fierce Gust attack, sending a powerful wind whipping towards them.

"Quick, Pikachu, evade the Gust attack!" Marcus shouted. Pikachu nimbly dodged the wind with a skilled maneuver, showcasing their growing synchronicity. The timing had to be perfect, and Pikachu executed it flawlessly.

With the Spearow off balance, Marcus seized the moment. "Pikachu, use Quick Attack!" he ordered. Pikachu shot forward like a bolt of lightning and made contact with spearow which sounded like a ball of metal hitting a wall , Marcus threw an empty Poké Ball, capturing the fierce bird in a flash of red light.

A victorious smile spread across Marcus's face as he held the captured Pokémon's Poké Ball in his hand. He knew that this Spearow, with its tenacity and power, would become a valuable addition to their team.

However, their victory did not go unnoticed. A Spearow perched in the trees had witnessed their actions, and it called out to its horde with a series of sharp cries. It seemed that Marcus and Pikachu had unwittingly challenged the entire flock.

The sky darkened as more Spearow descended upon them, their wings creating a whirlwind of chaos. Marcus, Pikachu, and their newly captured Spearow were now faced with a daunting challenge.

Their focus shifted from the hunt to a battle for survival. The horde of Spearow, inspired by their alpha's capture, was determined to defend their comrade and avenge their fallen leader.

In the midst of the turmoil, as the Spearow attacked, Marcus took a decisive action. He swiftly scooped Pikachu into his arms, and with determination in his eyes, he began to run.

Pikachu nestled in Marcus's arms, the bond between them growing stronger in this moment of trust. With the horde of Spearow in hot pursuit, Marcus raced through the wilderness, his heart pounding in his chest.

As they approached a steep cliff, Marcus realized there was no way to outrun the Spearow. In a split-second decision, he changed his course and leaped off the cliff, clutching Pikachu tightly. They descended into the river below, creating a tremendous splash.

The river's swift current carried them downstream, and they were swept away from the horde of Spearow. It was a daring move, but it had saved them from the relentless pursuit of the flock.

The turbulent waters of the river carried them farther downstream, and it was during this perilous journey that fate intervened. They were swept near a tranquil riverbank where they were able to swim ashore, exhausted but safe.

As they caught their breath, a new presence arrived on the scene, a fiery-haired girl with a serious expression. She had watched the events unfold and now approached them.

"You two are incredibly foolish for jumping into that river's current," she scolded. "What kind of Trainer just jumps into a river like that?"

Marcus, still catching his breath, couldn't help but notice the girl's striking beauty. He mentioned, almost unconsciously, "What a beautiful girl."

Misty's cheeks turned a shade of pink as she blinked in surprise. She soon came to her senses and started lecturing Marcus about his impulsiveness. "Your sweet words won't save you from reckless decisions, mister . You should never jump into a high-current river with your Pokémon in your arms. It's dangerous and irresponsible!"

Marcus realized the gravity of his actions, and his concern shifted to Pikachu. He immediately checked his Electric-type partner to ensure he was okay. Pikachu had taken in some water and was showing signs of distress.

In a panicked voice, Marcus asked, "How far is the Pokémon Center from here ? I need to get Pikachu there right away."

In a hurry, Marcus sought Misty's permission and took her bike. He was determined to get Pikachu the help he needed, all while hoping he hadn't put his newfound friend in danger.
