Winter

Glancing over at the tall trees beyond the fortress to where it originated, I didn't know what sort of monster it was, but the dense wave of Abyss energy it emitted was unmissable, its mana especially turbulent like it was experiencing great amounts of pain.

Typhon carried on talking with the nestlings and it didn't surprise me that none of them could perceive it – it was something only another Abyss creature or one close to turning could sense. As a fake abyss creature myself, I was more than glad, because it confirmed they weren't corrupted.

And yet, all I could think was what happened to Morgana for her aura to have melded with its own?

Surely, she wasn't affected, or worse, turned, right?

When I checked the Atlas, she was still in the forest beyond, but there was another presence near her – the one radiating such hostility. Aside from being strong, it didn't appear to be one of my creatures, which made it all the more dangerous.
