Death

"I was lying in the hospital bed, as I had been for the rest of the year. Numerous cables were attached to my body, and the machines around me emitted regular sounds. If any of these connections to my body were severed, survival seemed unlikely.

Due to congenital deficiencies in my organs, I've been dependent on medical assistance since birth. Fortunately, my family's financial situation is quite good, so I never faced any issues with covering my medical expenses.

Despite not communicating much with me, they never neglected my medical needs. For them, the cost was insignificant.

The only thing that brought me happiness in life was watching anime. At least, it allowed me to momentarily forget my current situation.

Today, I noticed some issues with my body compared to the past. My doctor had mentioned a few months ago that my time was limited, so I was prepared for this day.

Despite my fear of death, I couldn't help but feel a bit relieved. I'm not one to easily give up, but I've spent my entire life in a bed, connected to machines, and now I'm aware that there's no hope left for me.

I took the remote control in my hand and opened my favorite anime for the last time. The anime was about a man who is reborn as a slime after death.

A few minutes later, my vision started to blur.

It seems like the end has come. Despite years of resistance, the laws of nature have finally prevailed.
