Helping to Destroy

Everyone looked at Ming Na in shocked, they all expected her to agree with Elder Ming's words. Ming Na looked over at Elder Ming and gave him a serious look, "I agree with Uncle Bai, I don't think that Ming Zhu should be forced to leave the company."

Elder Ming shook his head with a frown, "Dear Na, you don't have to stick up for your younger cousin, it's only right that she gets punished for doing something wrong."

Glancing over at Ming Zhu, "She has worked hard for the company and personal feeling shouldn't enter the business, that's why I have another idea for her punishment."

"I want Ming Zhu to move out of the Ming Estate and live on her own dime, for the time being, I don't wish to see her around me. Ming Zhu, if you were honest with me I could have gotten over the heartache of losing Liu Kang, but it won't be so easy for your betrayal." She said in a serious tone.

Ming Xia nodded her head at her eldest niece's comment, fully agreeing with her words. This punishment would be good for Ming Zhu who was spoiled greatly by her parents. It was far time she had a reality check and knew what it meant to have a hard time living without a silver spoon. Even if she felt that way the final decisions would be left for her father to decide.

Ming Bai and his wife started to get nervous after listening to Ming Na's statement. For their diamond of a daughter to live like some commoner was hard to fathom, especially since they made her want for nothing. Ming Bai's wife Lu Li was so upset at Ming Na and wanted to yell but held her tongue. That quiet and small orphan Ming Na had the nerve to suggest something so harsh for her precious daughter. Ming Zhu was better than Ming Na in every way so it's no surprise that Liu Kang fell for her, Ming Na should just have accepted the fact and let things go.

While it was a quiet pause, Ming Na knew that everyone was thinking about her words, and she had to fight to keep the smile from forming on her face. She knew that taking away the Ming's fortune would throw a great blow to Ming Zhu's world. In her past life, she would always go around bragging about how she was the young miss of the Ming family, making everyone forget about the fact that Ming Zhu was the true heiress. Now that she was forced to live like those she looked down upon, it would be a great show.

Elder Ming thought about the punishment that Ming Na suggested and believed it sound reasonable, but he felt it was still too light for Ming Zhu's crime. Glaring at Ming Zhu he cleared his voice, "We will do as Ming Na said and cut off Ming Zhu's accounts, you'll live off what you get paid at work. In addition, you'll be demoted at work, I don't think you should be in a position to lead others when you need help yourself."

Ming Zhu couldn't say a word at what Elder Ming decided, she could only silently nod her head in agreement. Inside she was cursing Ming Na, vowing that she would make her pay for today's humiliation. Ming's Sweets and the entire Ming fortune would be her if it was the last thing she did as she clenched her fist in her lap.

Ming Na had a small smile on her face which looked like she was happy that Elder Ming agreed with her. In truth, she was looking forward to Ming Zhu downfall, if she thought to get the helping hand of the Ming family taken away was the end she was sorely mistaken. It was the only beginning, all those who caused her downfall and death will pay twice-fold.

Once the punishment was laid down, Elder Ming closed the family meeting and sent everyone away. Leaving only himself and Ming Na left to talk among themselves about the whole incident of today.

"Ming Na, tell me are you really okay?" Elder Ming asked giving her a deep look.

"I'm fine, it hurts but I'll feel better over time."

"I so sorry my dear, I thought that if you had a happy marriage it would lead you to a grand future. I saw the way you looked at Liu Kang and was foolish to believe he cared for you as well." Elder Ming said with a sad face.

Ming Na shook her head and held her grandfather's hand, "I know you were trying to do the best for me and I couldn't ask for more. I did care for Liu Kang but I'm strong and won't let this destroy me. Trust me when I say I'll be fine and will be stronger from this incident."

Elder Ming heard the sincere tone in Ming Na's voice and knew that her words were true and could calm his heart a little bit knowing that what happened today wouldn't destroy his granddaughter's life.
