79 A Newcomer Enters the Battle Part 2

A strange azure green energy started to seep into Goku little by little when something incredible happened. Storm clouds began to gather above the Saiyan's head before it shot down a black bolt of lightning.

It hit Goku, but rather than harm him, the tree absorbed it and flooded the Earth-raised Saiyan with more of that strange energy.

Goku's body suddenly transformed into that of a Super Saiyan God. The Red hair was there, but his body didn't look any younger or slimmer.

99 more bolts suddenly struck at Goku, but none of them could get through the tree. Every time it struck, Goku's red hair grew darker and darker until it resembled the color of blood. The Azure energy continued to pour into the meditating Saiyan when everyone heard something cracking.

The noise was abrupt, loud, echoed out everywhere, but it wasn't harmful to the ears.

Goku opened his eyes and smiled, "So that's how he did it."

"What just happened? Why did your…no the Divine Ki feels different."

"That's because young Goku has just become an Immortal Being. Not since the first guardian god of Earth that appeared roughly ten thousand years ago has there been someone that actually managed to become an immortal through training. The last to do so was Siddhartha Gautama. However, these days he goes by the Lord Buddha."

Beerus shivered, "I hate that guy."

"That's only because you couldn't beat him. Not even I could when ascended as a deity," Whis laughed cheerfully.

"Buddha? Buddha is real in dragon ball? Wait…" Vegeta slapped his forehead, "Krillin is a Buddhist, of course Buddha is real! Why wouldn't he be? The biggest most powerful deity in the journey to the west, it doesn't make sense not to include him!"

While Vegeta was deep in thought, he sensed Goku's power suddenly skyrocketing to unparalleled levels.

He stood up and looked at his hands with a smile on his face, "I feel great!"

"The hell just happened?"

"Hey Vegeta? Why'd you look so beat up," Goku pointed at his raggy clothing.

"No, seriously, how'd you do that? Why are you still in god form?"

"Oh, I am? I don't feel like I am...that's weird…I can't power down," Goku commented.

"That's because you have truly ascended to the next plateau of power. Though, I must admit, it's surprising to see that Saiyans that have access to God Ki can make full use of it when they become Immortals rather than deities. I'd even say you are stronger than Buddha when he was just an Immortal."

"How'd you do that? Wait, are the other transformations gone now?" Vegeta questioned with interest.

Goku powered up and smiled as his Super Saiyan Blue Transformation was still accessible, so were all the other forms they had gotten up to this point.

However, strangely enough, he had access to new forms that solely relied on the Super Saiyan transformation. Blue 1, 2, 3, and 4 all had the exact boost he had with the blond branch of Saiyan evolution. It wasn't until he added Oozaru to the mix that he could access Purple, Green, and Orange.

However, the biggest difference was that every one of his forms benefited from Super Saiyan God Red becoming his new base form.

Vegeta couldn't help but think that something was wrong with the newest evolution of his rival. Like being stuck in the form wasn't how it was supposed to be. He didn't know why he felt that way, instinct, lack of understanding, but he eventually shrugged it off as simply being jealous of him reaching it first.

"Hey Beerus! Let's fight!" Goku chuckled.

Vegeta grit his teeth together as felt just how much stronger his rival had become. He then marched over to the tree and said, "If he can do it, so can I."

"Goku, I'm curious, can you use Ultra Instinct in this state?" Whis asked with a smile.

"Oh, you're right," The Saiyan replied while putting his fist in his palm.

A white energy enveloped his body and created a form with dark silver hair and eyes. It didn't have the same shine as it used too, but still glowed radiantly with power.

"Hmm…I think…the form is easier to control now. No, in fact, it almost feels second nature," Goku stared as his hands.

Vegeta's eyebrow twitched as he shouted, "Can you do that somewhere else? I'm trying to meditate!"

"Right…sorry!" Goku looked at Beerus and asked, "So, wanna fight?"

"Not really, maybe later," The God of Destruction walked away before going back to his meal.

"Awww…well, can you train me Whis? I wanna try out the limits of my new power."

"Hohohoho, very well. Come with me, let's give Vegeta some space."

He flew off with Whis while Vegeta contemplated how undergo the same tribulation Goku achieved.

Within days, Vegeta was on to something. The tree assisted in guiding him towards the path of true understanding. The laws of the universe were bare and revealed itself to him to study when he sensed something great within him struggling for dominance.

Magic, Ki, and the Godly Ki all clashed against each other. It was almost as if it were trying to merge together again. Vegeta took a deep breath a simply let go of trying to keep them apart. A whisp of the same Azure energy fell into Vegeta's body before he opened his eyes and walked off.

"I won't use the tree like Kakarot did. If there is a way to survive this, I will do it as a warrior!" Vegeta and cast a Regeneration Spell before he powered up to his most powerful state. He let the power of destruction overflow as he looked at the storm clouds gathering above.

Now in the mental state of total destruction, Vegeta grinned and said, "I'll do this like a Saiyan should. Come on then, hit me with your best shot."

The black bolt slammed down on him with righteous furry. However, Vegeta managed to destroy the bolt entirely.

"Is that all you got!"

It was clear the powers he had access too were far too powerful for a mere Immortal Tribulation. However, as if the Heavens had accepted his challenge, the storm grew more intense. A black bolt with a single streak of white in the center of it smashed into Vegeta. However, he simply grinned and flexed his power to eradicate the tribulation with his destructive Ki.

Vegeta's laughter grew, as if he were mocking the lightning tribulation. In response the lightning became more intense.

It continued to smash down on him, and for the first fifty bolts, they didn't so much as scratch his chin. Yet for some reason that was probably Vegeta's fault, a new color was added to the lightning bolt, making it white, gold, and black.

It his hit his body and tore into his flesh. However, Vegeta just laughed at let his regeneration magic heal the damage. In turn, his power began to grow stronger as well.

The power of destruction and creation surged within Vegeta before he suddenly came to an understanding of his own power. Destroy, and create. I was missing the middle ground. Destroy, Balance, and Create."

Suddenly, all remaining 50 bolts slammed into Vegeta at the same time. The force was enough to cause him to fall to his knees, but as he grew strong enough to overcome the tribulation, he shouted and extended his arms outward, making a massive shockwave that kicked up the dust around him. When the smokescreen faded, Vegeta had the same blood red hair as Goku and the same boost to his powers. In fact, his new Divine Origin Ki was even more stable than his rivals.

Vegeta grinned as he flexed his new power and said, "I bet I would have beaten Kibo if I had this kind of power back then. Who knew that there were tribulations in dragon ball…wait is that what the lightning thing was about on the anime version?"

He recalled the black bolt of lightning that struck Goku during the Tournament of Power Arc.

Vegeta shook his head and made sure to head off in order to inform the rest of the group about Immortal Tribulations and decided to use the dragon balls in order to get more information about it. He didn't summon Shenron but let Krillin do it instead since he wanted to test out his new powers.

Ultra Ego and Ultra Instinct now had a completely different feel to them. Other than the darker hair color, his SS3-like facial appearance was lost when he used Ultra Ego. He still had purple hair, his feral and yellow-colored eyes, but his eyebrows were intact, and the strain on his body was practically nonexistent.

Vegeta traded blows with Goku. The two tried tirelessly to combine the two forms of Ultra Ego and Instinct, but every attempt resulted in failure. The closest they came was switching forms for offense and defense.

Whenever they attacked, they used Ultra Ego, whenever they needed to dodge, they used Ultra Instinct.

As the two battled harder than they ever had in their life, Beerus and Whis watched on in interest.

"A strange compromise. It's not true balance, but by switching off like that, they can find some semblance of middle ground," The Angle commented with a cheerful smile.

"Hah, they may have evolved, but they're still just pups learning to crawl to me," Beerus crossed his arms and leaned against his lounge chair.

The two warriors then clashed in their perfected Ultra Ego form and caused the area around them to shake. Thanks to their evolution, the Timeless Training Grounds grown stronger to keep up with them. Even at their peak, it was barely enough to shake the space within the massive terrain.

While they beat the ever-living shit out of each other, their powers continued to evolve and grow at a rapid pace. They healed and started the cycle over and over again until Beerus threw an empty He-Tap soda can at them.

"Will you two knock it off already?! You've been fighting for 2 years now!" The god of destruction growled with an annoyed expression.

"What?" Vegeta lifted a brow as he looked down at them.

"Really? I feel like we were just getting started," Goku rubbed the back of his head.

"You're Immortals now, so you should expect this to be the normal. In fact, you aren't anywhere near the record. There were once two Gods of Destruction that fought for thousands of years," Whis informed.

"My energy feels almost limitless. Not to mention the realm we're in is constantly restoring our stamina," Vegeta landed on the ground and powered down.

He realized that he was going to have to get used to having red hair. However, he couldn't help but miss the black hair color of his base form.

While he walked over to grab something to eat, he noticed something else. 2 years of nonstop combat, and he barely felt hungry at all.

Still his Saiyan appetite was bigger than humans.

After scarfing down a few meals, Vegeta looked over to see Krillin and other humans meditating under the Jade Tree. With the techniques Shenron provided, the group was well on their way to achieving their own form of Immortal Ascension.

Surprisingly, Krillin was the first person to become an Immortal due to him returning to his roots. With the teaching of Shaolin, connecting with Buddhist techniques was rather easy for him. In fact, Whis took interest in him in particular when Krillin showed he had talent for inheriting Gautama's methods.

When he ascended, his lightning tribulation seemed rather tame, but the biggest difference was that he managed to absorb the energy instead of dispersing it like Vegeta did or Goku through the use of the Jade Tree.

Piccolo was the second, and his ascension was unlike the others. His bolts resembled dragons and were completely golden in color. However, the power he exuded after showed just how unique it was. His Skin was an almost golden color, the lines on his arms disappeared, and he realized that he was no longer was he limited to picking Warrior or Sage, but he had the powers of both without needing to transform into his red dragon mode.

Tien was the third and for some reason, he manifested Godly Ki instead of Immortal Ki like the others.

Chiaotzu came fourth and barely managed to get through it without blowing up. Tien tried to interfere in the tribulation, and it only became worse, nearly costing the small warrior's his life. Luckily, he was stopped in time and barely managed to overcome his trial.

Chi-Chi and Bulma being full blood Saiyans experienced similar transformation bonuses like Vegeta and Goku. Then their kids managed to pull it off as well.

It appeared that a new age of power was on the horizon for the cast of Dragon Ball. Even Whis for some reason was eerily happy. They caught him more than a couple times meditating under the Jade Tree.
