78 A Newcomer Enters the Battle Part 1

A/N: Sorry about the wait. But as you know, I lost like almost 140-160k in words. I had a lot to work on. But maybe that isn't such a bad thing now that I've started rewriting it. In hindsight, I completely ignored until the Moro Saga and decided to go ahead and move that Saga to a different part of the story. Now, feel free to enjoy the 20K+ I managed to crank out. Will be working on Spider-Man more, and for those asking about Narutoverse, I decided to wait a little until I get more information from Boruto and will be deciding the end of the story soon. It's a lot harder to write an ending for the series I enjoyed so much, so please bear with me on this. I want the ending to be good.

A few months after the Tournament of Power, Goku and Vegeta were taking it easy on planet Earth.

They spent time with their families, trained with each other, and never stopped getting stronger.

It wasn't until one day that a group of surviving PTO members showed up looking for revenge that things began to take a turn for the worst.

While he was sitting in the Timeless Training Room, Vegeta sat cross legged while focusing. Beerus sat not too far away, enjoying his meal while he observed the Saiyan Prince.

"So…after taping into Ultra Instinct, how do you feel?"

Vegeta's eyebrow twitched as he tried to ignore the talking purple cat and focus on what he was doing.

"I asked you a question, Saiyan."

Vegeta sighed as he opened his eyes, "I can easily enough access the form, but I feel it has a fatal flaw."

The Saiyan demonstrated by powering up into the white-haired form, "It's not complete. I feel as if it's not as powerful when I go on the offensive. Like I'm lacking something important."

"Destruction," Beerus looked over at the tree Goku was sitting under. That reminder Kibo left of what letting Frieza take reign over the universe brought him.

"Listen up, Saiyan, I'm going to teach you that the power of Destruction is what you're missing. The reason Ultra Instinct feels incomplete is because it's supposed to be used in combination the Destruction Ki. I bet your think I'm lazy just like everyone else."

"Well..." Vegeta didn't get to finish as Beerus suddenly powered up.

The world around him shook, the entire realm inside the Timeless Training Ground started to creak while a black and purple energy enveloped the god.

"You see. I'm not relaxing just for fun. When it comes to destruction, I've already learned everything I need to advance. However, in order to master Ultra Instinct, I must go the opposite way. Me sleeping, the relaxation, my…laziness is all part of my training to finally master the Angel's greatest technique. You see, even amongst the other Gods of Destruction, there was a reason why I was considered to be the strongest. My understanding of Destruction has already reached the peak of what's possible."

Beerus made his way towards the Saiyan Prince and stood directly in front of him, "I haven't gone all out in eons, and you were the first to truly help me get back in shape. In order to repay you, I shall you teach you the true methods of destruction."

The Saiyan was about to transform, but Beerus flicked him the forehead and sent him flying into the distance.

"Fuuuuck!" Vegeta flew by Goku who was in deep meditation under the jade tree.

With an explosion of power, Vegeta rushed back at full power. He punched and kicked at Beerus who in turn smirked.

All of the Saiyan's blows seemed to do no damage whatsoever. It wasn't until Vegeta noticed what was happening that the Cat-God made his move.

With a spinning kick to the side of Vegeta's head, the Saiyan was thrown in to the distance with enough kinetic energy that his body nearly exploded upon hitting the ground.

Vegeta gasped for air as he suddenly pushed his form to the Master Ultra Instinct State. His Aura exploded as he charged back towards his target and attacked with everything he had. But once again, Beerus was able to completely destroy all of his attacks. It was like the power of destruction alone was negating his damage altogether.

Beerus struck out with a blow so fast, not even autonomous movement could keep up. A punch to Vegeta's jaw sent his face into the ground before Beerus kicked him into the air and chased after the Saiyan's flying body.

While Vegeta was in a daze, Beerus hit him with a series punches and kicks before grabbing the white-haired Saiyan's face and slammed him into the ground.

Every cell in Vegeta's body was being eroded by the might of the godly destruction Ki. It was painful for him to even breathe much less stand on his own two feet. However, he did just that. Through willpower alone, the Saiyan King rose to the challenge and looked Beerus dead in the eye.

"As I recall, Goku said that both of you were able to use some pour imitation of the Hakai. Try it while maintaining your Ultra Instinct state."

Vegeta raised his hand and said, "You asked for this…Hakai!"

It looked like something made impact with the dense aura of destruction surrounding the cat, but it didn't even so much as make Beerus flinch.

"Impressive. For a novice," He commented as he appeared next to Vegeta, "But you lack true understanding of what it means to be a destroyer. Forgo thought, emotion, and will. Give in to destruction, become the personification of a destroyer."

Vegeta recalled Kibo's words about understanding the law of certain types of energy. He then suddenly had a realization. To embody destruction, one must throw away all unnecessary thoughts. He had to rid himself of everything but the will to destroy.

He closed his eyes and looked deep within him. The primal urge of an Oozaru, the sheer instincts of his Saiyan heritage, and one singular thought, destroy everything.

A powerful beam of light ignited within Vegeta's body as he sensed something he hadn't really been able to before. The laws of certain types of Ki. Within the Saiyan's body, that dark and endless source of destruction appeared like a flickering candle. Vegeta raced to capture it and learn from it before minutes passed, hours passed, and then it happened.

Black and purple Ki erupted from Vegeta, sending out shockwaves across the entire training grounds. It was so powerful that it caused the earth to shake, even though it was in a separate reality.

Vegeta body bulked up slightly, his brows became like that of a Super Saiyan 3, and his hair had turned dark purple.

Vegeta looked at his hands with surprise before he saw Beerus slacked jawed at his evolution.

The purple cat then smiled, "Well, it appears that you aren't completely useless."

"What should I call this form…if it's the opposite…no it's not completely opposite of Ultra Instinct. The opposite of Instinct…Ego. Ultra Ego is what I'll call this form," Vegeta commented as he flexed his fingers into a grip. His blood was screaming at him for the fight the foe in front of him. Every fiber of his body was focused on destroying the God of Destruction.

Vegeta flashed forward and tried to punch Beerus. However, when they clashed fists, the realm shook and cracked around them.

Beerus smirked as he slugged Vegeta in the gut, fully expecting that to be enough to take him down, but when the Saiyan grabbed his wrist and glared at the god, he realized that it was far from over.

"I see…I think I get it," Vegeta jumped while holding on to the God's arm before kicked Beerus in the neck.

The cat god was sent flying a few feet away. Vegeta leapt forward and tried to hit a couple times. However, the God raised his hand and caught the Saiyan King's fist.

"I'm impressed. You managed to…"

Vegeta ignored the cat and swung out with his other fist.

Beerus caught that one, but Vegeta didn't slow down. The Saiyan's feet was raised between them, and he hit the feline deity under the chin with the heels of his boots.

Beerus' face shot up and he grinned before saying, "Okay, let's do this as Gods of Destruction."

A fierce headbutt to his skull, Vegeta felt like his neck was cracking before a surge of intense energy rose from within him. Gritting his teeth, he spun his fist with a fierce uppercut and cracked his knuckles against Beerus' face.

The God of Destruction laughed as he suddenly hit Vegeta in the stomach with a powerful kick and flew after his body. He hit the Saiyan several times, a punch to the face, a few kicks to his ribs, and ended it with a spinning heel kick to his ribs.

Vegeta's continued to grow rapidly, far faster than any of his other transformation. He could feel his desire for destruction fueling the spark of destructive Ki within him.

The two clashed again as the power of destruction eroded everything around them.

Vegeta hit him with an elbow to the stomach before Beerus kicked him into the air. Letting out a Final Flash, the wave of energy soared toward his target while the God of Destruction flew straight into it and out the other side before slugging the Saiyan on to the ground.

Ultra Ego Vegeta flew back up and rammed his head into Beerus' stomach. While the cat leaned over from the blow, Vegeta grabbed his neck and slammed him into the ground before kicking him into the distance.

Beerus regained his footing and stopped Vegeta's assault with thunder clap. He then raised his arms out in a welcoming stance, smiled, and shouted out, "Now this is a fight! Come Vegeta, push your limits. Show me what a Saiyan is capable of."

Vegeta bled from the ears as he shrank the distance between the two and hit Beerus in the stomach with a powerful charging blow.

Beerus slugged him the face and forced the Saiyan to the ground, but the King wouldn't let that be the end.

Vegeta performed a spiral uppercut and hit Beerus under the chin.

The God of Destruction laughed as he punched Vegeta in the cheek, stretching his opponent's neck before it snapped back, and he was hit with a knee to the gut. To follow it up, Beerus spun and kicked the side of Vegeta's head.

The blow did damage, but it also made the Saiyan stronger as he punched back and hit the God with a fierce punch to the jaw.

Vegeta followed it up with a kick to the God of Destruction's leg and spun around to land a back kick against his side.

Beerus raised his arm and slid a couple feet before he look at Vegeta with a surprised expression, "Incredible. The more damage you take, the stronger you become. This is an interesting form, Vegeta. However, you are just a fledgling when it comes to understanding true destruction."

Vegeta's eyes widened as Beerus hit him just one time. It was a simple knuckle to at the bridge of his nose. However, that glancing blow was enough to send Vegeta miles back, bouncing off the ground several times hard enough to leave massive craters all around the landscape.

His body slid to a stop a few dozen feet away from Goku, who was still in deep meditation underneath the Jade Tree.

Vegeta vomited up a mouthful of blood as he forced himself to fight off the dizzying effects of the blow. He grabbed his head and took a deep breath to use his magic, but the moment he did, he lost focus and the transformation ended. His body healed, but the loss of his desire to destroy caused the Ultra Ego form to collapse.

"You see, it's not easy to balance the power of destruction with other abilities," Beerus powered down and pawed his ear, "I haven't been this awake in eons. It's going to take me a while to readjust. Until then, you'll be my punching ba…student. You'll be my student."

"I…ugh…thanks?"

 "Aww…that's so sweet," Whis chuckled as he ate an ice-cream sundae.

"Ahem…anyways…what's with Goku. Usually, he'd snap out of it at the mention of a good fight," Beerus changed the subject.

"Huh…yeah you're right, he didn't make a peep during our battle," Vegeta looked over at the strange phenomena.

"That's because you two aren't paying attention," Whis chuckled.

Vegeta immediately used his senses to try and see what Kakarot was up to, "The hell?"

"I can't sense him at all," Beerus was the next to speak up.

"He's becoming one with the nature and laws of that tree…Young Kibo certainly left you all quite the gift." The Angel grinned with closed eyes.
