Unlike Daisy, who was just living an idle life, Angela's parents had plans for her future. The reason they came to this obscure church school was mainly because of the good relationship between the school and Yale University.
In the early days, these prestigious universities had connections with churches, and obtaining good grades or a significant recommendation from a church school could greatly help one get into a prestigious college.
However, the situation seemed to be changing now.
"Why do they want to close the school?" Daisy wasn't particularly enthusiastic about singing hymns, but this was her current foothold. Without a clear plan for her future, this place was still important to her.
Angela pondered for a moment and replied, "I heard that some company wants to buy all the properties in Hell's Kitchen and rebuild the area."
Daisy took out her laptop and connected to the internet, quickly searched, and found the answer, "Union Allied Construction is planning to acquire several nearby properties."
Behind the scenes of the Union Allied Construction stood Wilson Fisk a.k.a Kingpin. At this point, Jin was not yet at the peak of his power, and taking over Hell's Kitchen alone was beyond his capacity. So, he partnered with several other criminals to establish the facade of the Union Allied Construction.
According to her memory, they only began buying properties after the Avengers fought the Chitauri invasion, which was still several years away!
In the following days, she returned to school, and everyone was anxious. The teachers were no longer serious about teaching, and the students were doing their thing.
The only ones happy about the situation were the school directors. Fisk didn't want to have trouble with church schools due to their extensive connections. The compensation for demolition was quite generous.
Daisy witnessed Kingpin's right-hand man, James Wesley, a man who meticulously managed the criminal empire for him, appearing at the school. The school board members were very deferential, afraid of any negligence.
The negotiations progressed quickly.
No matter how subjectively displeased she was, the school's closure was already a fact. Before her, there were two paths: one was to fend for herself, and the other was to find another school to complete high school and then go to college.
Daisy felt confident that her abilities, combined with her past life's experience and foresight into the future, would make earning money an easy task.
However, the problem was deciding on her future path.
Joining the criminal world was immediately ruled out. Even though she lived a challenging life as an author in her past, at heart, she was fundamentally a good person. She had no interest in getting involved with selling drugs, organs, or weapons.
Creating a vibrant social organization was significantly more challenging for women compared to men. Without depending on male support, whenever a new ambitious person emerged, they would challenge her, leading to constant frustration.
She was not aware of many women who had achieved prominence in the criminal world, and the idea of following that path did not align with her goals or interests.
Running a legitimate business required adhering to many rules. And once it reached a certain level, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra would undoubtedly take notice.
In the films, Hydra was portrayed as operating in secret within S.H.I.E.L.D., and their strength seemed comparable. However, in reality, Hydra was an extensive organization, structured into four distinct divisions.
The first part involved transnational groups that disguised illegitimate activities with legitimate ones. One example was the Typhon Group, which had 250,000 employees, with its board of directors entirely controlled by Hydra. Their businesses encompassed food, medicine, arms, aerospace materials, and more. Unknown to most of the world, Typhon is the premiere creator and manufacturer of military-grade chemical weapons. Among its clients are the US Army and Marine Corps, the British Army, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Russian Navy, the German Bundeswehr, and the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
The second part included government agencies from various countries, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US National Security Agency (NSA), and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), among others. Some of these agencies had important figures, with some directly led by Hydra.
The third part consisted of international criminal organizations, with Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), which confronted Iron Man, being one of the representatives.
Finally, the fourth part involved intelligence agencies, with S.H.I.E.L.D. being just one of them.
To Hydra, S.H.I.E.L.D. was just a "more important asset" within their vast organization.
Hydra could mobilize assets worth hundreds of billions of dollars at any time, and they had elite, trained soldiers in various sub-bases around the world, totalling at least 100,000.
Facing such a colossal organization, Daisy realized that she had no means to fight against it.
For now, she could only focus on the present issue: she was once broke again!
Finding another easy target like last time wasn't easy. She needed to find some money to sustain herself.
Angela proposed the idea of working together at a convenience store, and she was also considering it. Nevertheless, Daisy decided to rent a car and spend the day driving around Manhattan to clear her mind.
As she passed by the famous Central Park, she planned to go in for a walk. However, police officers were surrounding the area, and she overheard people talking about a gang shootout. Daisy felt a pang of curiosity but decided not to get involved. It seemed unrelated to her, so she chose to turn away, opting not to interfere with the ongoing events.
As she was about to continue her stroll, she realized she had forgotten to lock the car door. So, she went back to her car to lock it, but she was in for a surprise.
As she opened the car door, she saw a man covered in blood lying on the back seat. Her heightened senses allowed her to detect the faint sound of his breathing.
Panicking, she initially planned to call for help from a distance.
"Huh?" Instinctively using her vibration frequency perception, she made an unexpected discovery. Unexpectedly, this man emitted a unique frequency pattern associated with positive attributes, indicating qualities like integrity, courage, and fearlessness, and based on the frequency patterns she sensed, it appeared that he possessed these virtues to a significant degree.
Changing her mind, she decided to help him. Recognizing that genuinely good people were scarce in the world, she felt a strong urge to extend a helping hand. Moreover, considering the recent Central Park shooting, she had developed some suspicions and felt it was important to offer her support.
The man was still somewhat conscious, and upon seeing Daisy approaching, he seemed to recall something before passing out.
"Hey, wake up, wake up! What's the matter? Don't faint on me!" Daisy shut the car door and encountered some difficulty in flipping the man over. Despite her enhanced strength, he proved to be quite heavy. In layman's terms, he was a big guy.
Daisy fished out his ID from his pocket and glanced at it.
"Frank Castle? This guy..." Daisy abruptly shut her mouth. It was him, the Punisher from the future! After the Central Park shooting, Frank Castle's once happy and content family tragically died. He went on a crazy quest for revenge against the gangsters and vowed to find the true culprits behind the incident.
