13 Chapter 13 Bleeding Money

"That was pretty impressive." Ram praised as he entered the secret room. "It was nothing." Rak replied as he finished reading the book on Gold Tooth. 'Seems I can just repeat the same plan.' Rak mused shutting the book before putting it away.

"So you're going after Gold Tooth? Good choice." Ram noted as he saw the book which Rak had shut. "Yes, if I go after Black Root it would be too suspicious. Out of all the Captains, Black Root and Ink are considered to be the most devious. So if I assassinate Black Root it will be obvious that it wasn't him who killed Grip. Which if Ink is as intelligent as I believe he is, will lead him to suspect that us Marines have gotten involved and then he'll rally all the pirates together. At that point I won't be able to win very easily." Rak explained his logic to Ram.

"Agreed, while it could also be seen as Ink vying for more power, in reality he is already the uncrowned King of Polink, so he'd have no reason in their eyes to kill the weaker Captains like Grip and Black Root, if anything he'd just do it out in the open." Ram agreed while giving his own thoughts.

After this short conversation went to sleep. In 8 days he had killed 1 Captain, naturally he wouldn't take so long to kill the next one. The main thing holding Rak back was his stats after all, otherwise why would he fear an open fight with the Captains. 'Caution is king.' Was his last thought before falling asleep.

The next day Rak woke up and made his way to West Polink. Just as every part of Polink was, it was quite quiet in the mornings with the only people walking around being drunkards. 'Now according to the information provided, Gold Tooth doesn't move around much, but rather stays within his base.' Rak thought as he finally arrived at Gold Tooth's base.

It was a large building that looked extremely gaudy. Frankly it astounded Rak how such a building could stay mostly unblemished within Polink, probably anyone else who had such a building would have had it ransacked, unless it was one of the other Captains of course.

'I need to find an entry point.' Rak thought before circling around the building. It was filled with windows throughout but realistically Rak needed to enter at a place where he could easily find Gold Tooth after. Unlike Grip's crew, Gold Tooth's was not only stronger but smarter. Not to mention that they should be on high alert after what happened to Grip.

Rak then spent the entire day scouting out the building, but realised it was pointless. 'I should wait until night.' Rak thought before going to a secluded alleyway. He then began to train while waiting for night to descend. If he was gonna waste his time waiting anyway he might as well be as productive as possible.

Night soon descended, and immediately Rak began to scout out the building once again. 'Seems it really is a gambling den, that means I can enter without any suspicion placed on me.' Rak thought before taking off his cloak.

He then changed into some basic clothes that those around Polink wore, so basically a stained and torn up shirt and shorts. Rak then took out some alcohol he had carried with him from the bar. 'Lets take a small sip, and then splash it on myself.'

After that Rak had completed his transformation into a pirate drunkard. People were already flooding into the building, which meant now was the time to infiltrate.

Walking along the street Rak looked a bit dazed as he approached the building. "Oi, you! What are you doing here? Are you trying to make a mess?" The guard asked in annoyance grabbing Rak by the shirt. "I-I just want to gamble." Rak replied with a stupid grin plastered on his face.

Seeing how drunk Rak was and that he wanted to gamble, the guard had a smile on his face. "Oh alright then, go in go in, I hope you enjoy your time." The guard smiled before shoving Rak into the building.

Rak then entered the building, and immediately his eyes felt like they were burning. The room was filled with bright lights and was decorated with gold all throughout. 'How could they even afford this?' Rak thought in confusion before looking around the room.

Currently they were possibly 100s of people gambling within the room. Some howled in despair as they lost their money, others couldn't hold back their joy from winning it big. From what Rak could tell they all held one similarity, whether it be the winners or the losers. Every customer was intoxicated to some extent.

'I mean tricking drunk people is easier than tricking sober people.' Making sense of the situation, Rak then went to table and began his gambling journey. Safe to safe, he wasn't all that successful. 'Unlike those protagonists I don't have some luck skill or other cheats to help me along.' Rak sighed as he said goodbye to his 20,000 Belly.

Nonetheless Bob's goal was never to win. "Eh, where's the bathroom?" Rak asked the dealer. "Its in that direction the room should be clearly labelled." The dealer swiftly replied while pointing to the side.

Rak then made his way to the bathroom. It was in a separate hallway, and some distance away from the bathroom was a "Staff Only" door. 'Bingo.' Rak then entered the Staff Only door. Surprisingly it wasn't locked, but Rak assumed this was because it was frequently in use.

Entering the door Rak found himself in a dark hallway. Compared to the lively casino this hallway was much more dilapidated. Walking down the hallway Rak found himself in front of another door. 'Lets see what's inside.'
