No Room For Failure

"So do you think you can make it over Xelifa?"

"Yeah it shouldn't be too much of a problem but what about you?"

Xilo wasn't that weak compared to her but it still wasn't going to be an easy jump for him. "Most likely I'll need to help, which means I'll have to go first." Once she got herself to the other side she would have to grab Xilo when he got near the platform's edge and pull him up afterwards. Looking down the into the abyss near her she dreaded the thought of failing to catch him and watch him plummet into the unknown again but she would just have to make sure to grab his hand. "You got this..." Psyching herself up a little she got ready to jump.

"I should be able to make it most the way myself but I might need your help, are you okay with that?"

"That's what I was thinking so don't worry about it."

Smiling at them having the same thought she put herself in front of Xilo while he gave her enough room so she could use what little room she had for a running start. Breathing in she pushed herself forward toward the edge and jumped through the air and watched as the room moved around her while soaring through the air until she landed on the platform and breathed out in relief after safely landing with no issues. "Easier than I thought." Maybe she was underestimating herself but that jump was a lot easier than she had initially anticipated but she had no more time to think about it as she saw Xilo getting ready to jump himself.

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah all good here, you can jump whenever."

With that as his signal Xilo began his run as well with a little more room this time around and jumped with all the strength he could while flinging himself forward toward Xelfia. Getting closer he began to think he might not even Xelfia's help as he travelled through the air a pretty decent distance but something ended up distracting him in the corner of his eye, Hovering above the platform on the other side a mass of energy started to swirl above it as a Bunny once again spawned there and landed back on the platform. Instantly without delay after that it opened its eyes and looked at them while beginning to fling more icicles then even before at them while Xilo was mid air.

"Xelfia Quick!"

Reaching out his hand he gave up on any idea of trying to make it himself before he started to get pelted by more icicles along the way. At the moment he was basically defenseless and if he was hit enough times he would probably be knocked out of the air and fall down below to never return. Now wasn't the time to test his limits.

"Figures it wouldn't be that easy..." With only a little bit left to go Xilo watched as the first icicle came flying at him.

Hearing Xilo's voice filled with panic as he looked behind her she wondered what was happening as she turned her head and saw more icicles flying at them. "Xilo!" Seeing that she instantly Wiped her head around again with no regards to anything else while she began to lean her body forwards even more to catch him faster as she worked on making another shield in the meantime with her other hand. Splitting her concentration like this she watched Xilo arrive in front of her as an icicle landed on his body just as he grabbed her hand.

"I got you."

Feeling his weight she paused for a split second before pulling him up as two icicles dug their way into his chest and just like his arm they slowly started to spread ice as well. Making room on the platform Xelfia finished making her water shield as Xilo calmed down looking at his chest. "Even more huh." Staring at his chest he felt the ice coldness run through that area before looking up at the finished shield once again while icicles started to go through them again and began starting to break more before any more could hit him. Slowly but surely the movements in his hand slowed down as the ice spread further but he had to do this. "We can do this...." Dying in this trial wasn't something that he would let happen

"How are you holding up?"

"A bit chilly but other than that I'm fine."

He felt a little bad lying to Xelfia but it wasn't something she needed to worry about right now especially since she was going to be the reason they would even pass this test at this point. "Without her I couldn't do it alone, at least not anymore." So it was for the best if she stayed as focused as possible. When this was over the icicles should go away anyways then there wouldn't be anything to worry about at least while also being one step closer from escaping this place. Breaking another icicle in his path while choosing to dodge another instead of breaking it Xilo could feel the pressure increasing now that there was more attacking them.

"So what now?"

"The same as before we just need to figure out the timings of everything so this time around we do it fast enough to not get caught mid jump like before."

"Alright, I can try but be careful about getting hit more okay? We don't know how many more you can take.."

Hearing Xelfia's worry Xilo knew she was right and he was frustrated with himself as well. "If only I was better." If he didn't fail to hit any of the icicles before then they wouldn't be in this position where the clock was slowly ticking down and instead could maybe have a little more breathing room. "Maybe I can use this situation to improve?" that split second thought occurred to him as another icicle broke.

Before he hadn't really thought of it like training but that they would die if he made even the slightest mistake and that wore him down a lot. Being worried that every little thing could potentially be there last moment wasn't easy to deal with but maybe he could learn to deal with the icicles better if he went at it with a different mindset. "It's worth a shot." Breathing in deeply he began to calm himself down as he exhaled and stared at all the targets coming for him.

"Not again."

lost track of time whoops, sorry about that

Enjoy
