Memories Lost

"I failed....?"

Watching Landel stand there perfectly fine after that attack Lexia's heart sank as her vision turned blurry. A cold liquid crawled it's way down her forehead and reached her eyes. "Blood?" She didn't even have the strength to wipe it off as she let streaks of red cover her eyes. "I can't feel my body." The pain in her body wasn't even registering anymore, her nerves had been completely fried. "I guess this is how dying feels." Struggling to even breathe Lexia knew that she was coming to her end. it was almost a familiar feeling to her, one that she recognized but didn't remember.

"In...the end..I accomplished..nothing."

Coughing out blood Lexia carefully closed her eyes as she let the darkness overcome her. "Sorry, everyone." In the next moment her heart stopped beating as the air in her lungs disappeared into the sky. The screams of everyone else could no longer reach her anymore. Tearia got up and ran straight for Lexia through the crowds of soldiers. "Let me get there in time." The fighting around them had completely stopped as Tearia pushed past every single soldier in her way. Crossing the field she dropped down on to her knees next to Lexia as she lifted up her arm.

"Please, be alive."

Feeling for a pulse that wasn't there, Tearia felt her stomach turning as she lowered her head onto her chest. Their was no longer any air or a heartbeat, her entire body had gone still. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she dropped her arm. Stubbornly refusing to accept the truth Tearia pulled out some medicine she had on her and shoved it down Lexia's throat without another thought. Waiting a moment she applied pressure on her chest as she did everything she could think of. None of it worked though, no matter how hard she tried. Tearia couldn't bring a dead person back to life.

"She's dead."

A croak left her throat as the damn holding back her tears broke. Sobbing like a child, Tearia could only repeat that same line over and over again. Someone that was in front of her died and there was nothing she could do about it. It was a huge blow to her especially since Lexia had become her friend. Hugging Lexia's body, Tearia's cries echoed throughout everyone's ears. Xilo stopped where he was as he heard Tearia confirm her death. It felt like time had stopped for him as he stared at Lexia's corpse. "She's...dead?" That wasn't a reality he wanted to accept, Lexia should have been alive to lead everyone here.

"She said she would beat Landel..."

*Clinggg*

The daggers Xilo was holding fell to the ground along with his heart. "No!" Cestrin's King observed his troops fighting from the backlines as a wave of power flashed past him. Shivering, blood spilled out of his body as he turned towards Tidal's Capital. "He actually did it." There were only a few things that could cause him to bleed. He didn't actually think Landel would have the guts to kill his own wife but it looks like he had severely underestimated him. The connection between his puppet could only mean one thing. "They've died." While it sucked to lose a useful tool he quickly brushed it off.

"My King, What's wrong?"

"Nothing, keep fighting."

Falling to his knees Xilo couldn't feel his legs. The power to stand up had left him entirely. "She can't be dead." There were still so many things he wanted to talk about with Lexia. He wanted to really get to know the woman behind the Queen. Recently he had thought he was getting closer with her and starting to see the real side of her. "She was just a scared and lonely girl." She was forced to put an entire Country's weight on her shoulders all because Landel abandoned her without hesitation. "Landel." Xilo breathed out ice as he turned his head to stare at the person who was responsible for all of this mess.

"You."

"Hmmmm? Don't look at me like that you pig. This isn't some kind of game, it's a war. People die no matter how much you try to avoid it, so get off your high horse and face reality. That demon over their is dead."

"SHE WAS YOUR WIFE."

Xilo felt himself screaming at the top of his lungs, the way Landel was acting disgusted him.

"That thing wasn't my wife, that thing got what it deserved especially after trying to kill me. It won't end with her either, you're all next."

Landel had finally set things right and now he was free to do whatever he wanted. Lexia was dead and out of his way, there was no else here that could even hope to stop him. "Even with my injury." It took a lot out of him to heal his injury and kill Lexia. He was running out of power so it was best if he ended this situation as soon as possible. He would need to be in top condition to face Cestrin's king. Dragging himself up off his knees Xilo stood back up as he grabbed his daggers.

"I'll rip you to shreds Landel."

At this moment there was nothing else that Xilo wanted to do more then to tear Landel into tiny little pieces.

"I'll give you all the pain that Lexia received in return, I swear it."

Being rational had already left Xilo's mind entirely, he didn't care about anything else.

"You're own wife...you killed her without blinking. Bastard."

Getting closer to Landel, Xilo could feel himself falling off into darkness yet he didn't let himself fall into it this time.

"No, I'll deliver each and every blow with my own hands and my own strength. Nothing else, I'll show him just how wrong he is myself."

Xilo couldn't rely on his power everytime and it was time he finally started to take control of it or at least prevent it from overcoming in when overwhelmed by emotions

Enjoy.
