Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Lacking Medicine

With Althea's tantrum going on Xilo talked about some ideas he had with Katrin while Tearia healed the injured. Xelfia and Felli guided the rest of the people to the rooms that they would be staying in. They couldn't really go anywhere else at the moment so Xilo planned to keep them here. "Last one." Pointing directly at the door, Xelfia tossed her head to the side as she stared at liandra. The early kindness Xelfia showed had disappeared completely in front of Liandra. "Her attitudes annoys me." Maybe it was because she had overheard Liandra barking at Xilo earlier or her complete leave me alone aura.

"You'll be staying here. I don't care what you do in the room, just don't break everything and come down to the dining room to eat with everyone else."

"Hmm."

Not really responding, Liandra grabbed the doorknob and twisted it open while ignoring Xelfia's words. Shutting the door behind her Liandra collapsed onto her bed, worn out. Falling asleep nearly instantly she went into a world of dreams while the girls left her. "Hopefully she doesn't try anything funny." Xelfia took Felli's hand as they walked towards Tearia to check up on her next along with the others. Entering the medical room Yulrin was sleeping on a bed while Tearia stood in between Rana and Vandor's bed giving them some more medicine. Besides a few groans of pain they looked like they had stabilised for the most part.

"Hey Tearia, how's everything here?"

"Rana lost a lot of blood and I'm working on fixing that before anything serious happens. His bones are slowly mending back together as well. Vandor was mostly just exhausted with a few minor injuries here and there so he'll be good in a few days. Yulrin, as you can see, is just resting. Out of everyone she was the least injured, only tired. So my main concern is making sure Rana is alright. What about you two, guiding new to their room go alright?"

"Eh, mostly fine except for one who seemed a bit off. It's good that everyone is fine though. I know Xilo was pretty upset when he saw their condition along with the rest of us. It's useful having such a skilled "doctor" around."

"Oh please Xelfia, you know that isn't true. Can you hand me those bandages next you?"

Leaning over, Felli picked them up off a table nearby and handed them to Tearia.

"Here you go."

"Thanks. Once I'm done with Rana I'll meet everyone else at the dining room. I'm sure there's a few things Xilo and Lexia want to talk about as well as getting some food in our stomachs."

Xelfia couldn't agree more.

"Yeah, Xilo and Lexia have gotten a lot closer than I ever thought they would have. Then again I didn't really think we would be walking into a war unprepared but here we are."

Felli noticed the slip of tone in Xelfia's voice.

"Oh, jealous of Lexia now?"

"Nope, They don't feel like they have that kind of relationship in the slightest. While they are friends now there seems to be this wall between them. I don't really know what it is though, just something feels off about Lexia."

"Lexia just got thrown out of her own castle and her husband. I'm not surprised Lexia's throwing up walls around her. That's not something someone just overcomes in a day or two."

Xelfia placed her finger on her chin as she took in Felli's words.

"No, it's not like that. It feels like it's something else that's creating those walls. I think the closest thing to put a name to it would be...fear? Eh, no. That doesn't really fit either. Arhhhh whatever. I just know there's something going on up inside of that head of hers.

Shaking her head at Xelfia's cute behaviour she leaned over and took Xelfia's hand.

"I'm sure you're just overthinking it. Come on now let's go get some food. We'll see you there Tearia, good luck with Rana."

"Yup, thanks, you two. Have fun!"

Placing her hand overtop of Rana's broken bones Tearia checked on their progress. "Such a nasty injury." This was just the beginning of it too, she had played it down for the girls but it was much worse. If Tearia didn't wasn't able to get her hands on the right medicine Rana was definitely going to be paralyzed. "His back was completely destroyed." Whoever attacked Rana made sure to do as much damage as possible without killing the man. "I don't have everything on hand though..." Which meant she had to go out and gather some more ingredients. She couldn't leave him though in case something went wrong nor did she want to ask Xilo for help while he was incredibly busy with everything else.

"So what the heck do I do then?"

If it really came down to it she might have to keep Rana here for a couple months until she could handle his injuries properly. Being down another person would suck, yet it might be her only choice. "if it happened to Vandor and Yulrin." Tearia felt her entire body shake as that thought entered her mind. These three were extremely lucky to have come back alive and mostly in one piece. "Who would do such a thing and why..." Xelfia and Felli headed back to the dining room and saw Xilo still talking with Lexia. Waving hello, the girls sat down next to him without another word.

"Hello girls, how are the injured?"

"They're being taken care of by Tearia so they'll be fine and our guests are all in their rooms, probably sleeping. Is there anything else you'd like us to do or is that all?"

Xelfia answered that as she leaned her body against Xilo.

"No, that's all. Thanks for the help you two."

"No problem."

Smiling, Xelfia picked up the glass of water in front of her and took a sip while they talked.

Enjoy.
