Forming A Bond

Leaning back on her chair Althea stared up at the ceiling as sweat trickled down her forehead. Brushing the hair out of her face that had begun to stick to her she looked down at a boy who laid on a table with Metal chains that cover his arms, legs, chest and even his head. She wasn't taking any chances with him. "Even if he lost all his strength." Looking at how many scattered blades that still littered on the floor she felt even more tired. Even just putting back together some of them had nearly sapped all of her energy and she still had so many to go through.

"Well at least I'm able to actually repair them so that's a plus. I thought they might have been irreparable. How are you feeling Xilo?"

"I can't feel my body..."

"I know but tough it out a little more for me, It'll get easier."

"Why are you fixing them?"

"So that I can create a connection between us."

Finishing her sentence she didn't hear a reply as she watched Xilo pass out from the overload in his senses. "Get some rest." Feeling some of her energy come back she stood up and leaned over him as she saw his hair turning more Silver than before. Waving her hand over top of him she pierced his stomach but no blood or injury occurred. Her hand phased through him as she started to drag more of her soul into his body. Every day after she finished fixing some blades she would repeat this process as he healed himself. Fighting against his weak energy she very slowly intertwined the two of their souls making them one a little at a time.

"You did well once again."

She had honestly thought he might have broken by now but he was still pressing through it.

"Such a weird kid."

Raising her hand she brought it up his head as went to rub his hair however mid way through she paused at what she was about to do. "Stop..." Letting hand fall down she plunged it into his body as well to try and speed up the process and keep her mind on track. "He's just a slightly interesting tool." Weaving together their souls she let him sleep in peace as she felt herself growing more tired. She was even starting to hear weird voices in her head.

""Althea, Althea, Altheaaaa. Wake up.""

"Wake up?"

Groggily she barely opened her eyes as those voices were an insistent annoyance.

"Where am I?"

"We're currently on the way back home."

"You've been passed out for a couple hours now so we figured it was best to try and wake you up now and fill you in on the details."

Not feeling the ground beneath her feet she looked at her two scouts as they flew through the sky. Her body felt like it wanted to implode on itself but she was barely breathing. "The corruption." Feeling her throat dry up as her eyes refused to stay open for long she croaked out a couple words as she remembered what happened. "Damn Hunter." She was so close to Xilo but he just had to ruin everything for her. Quickly though she calmed herself down. Sporadic emotions weren't going to help in this situation only make things worse. For now she needed to return home and get rid of this corruption.

"Speak up then."

""Very well.""

Still feeling the heat on his back Xilo collapsed as they finally left that room behind him. Everything was catching up to him now and he was feeling it. He didn't even know how long in had been anymore but he knew he needed some rest. "I wonder if those people from before are still skulking around. Well hopefully they aren't." Even if they were Felli and Tearia should be able to handle them. Letting his back hit the wall he looked around the room as he offered a seat to the both of them. That explosion had knocked the wind out of all them plus the transfer from before. All three of them needed a short break and he needed to wrap his head around all of this.

"Why did she protect us?"

He wasn't blind, he had seen what that woman had done for them but that had only confused him further. "She wants to capture me right so why let me go?" However his brain wasn't working enough to think any of this through right now. The three of them needed a chance for a break and this was the perfect chance. They finally escaped that room that they might have been trapped in forever. "I wonder, will she come for me again?" He had looked back when leaving and saw her collapsed on the floor passed out however he didn't really know how long that would last.

"So Xilo, what the hell was that all about, care to explain?"

Hearing Felli's irritated voice enter his ears as she sat beside Tearia he didn't know what to say.

"Can you give me a minute please?"

"Fine."

Taking a couple deep breaths he waited a few minutes as he got his thoughts sorted out. There wasn't much to tell her however that wouldn't be good enough to put their thoughts at ease. So the only option he had at the moment was to lie to them a bit even though he hated that a lot. It was for the better this way. He would deal with Tearia later in private but with Felli still here it was different.

"She's my lover eh?"

No longer feeling as much repulsion as he thought he would have to such a sentence he remembered the words Tearia spoke to Althea as she stood in front of him.

"Her name seems to be Althea and to my knowledge while it's a bit hazy she seems to be after me and something that I have."

"What exactly is the thing she's after then?"

"Me and the bond she created with me."

"Eh!? bond she created with you? What does the mean."

Hearing Tearia's voice he knew that was coming once he mentioned a bond between them but he didn't know what else to really say besides that.

Enjoy.
