A beast in daylight?

The journey had been on for about 4hours now, and it finally occured to Silver that he had totally left his hometown. Throughout the journey, the only things he did was to check out scenery, sleep, check out scenery, and sleep! The journey had been one of a kind for him.

After passing some very remote areas, they arrived at a town, with a symbol, " WELCOME TO SEVILLE ". Silver was awed by the scenery and buildings. They all seemed so beautiful and well arranged. He had to admit that it was more beautiful than his hometown.

About 20 minutes later, they arrived at a huge mansion, with military guards everywhere. The mansion was situated at the center of the land, which was as spacious as a very remote village. He could see different maids performing their duties. But, in all, he did not fail to notice the old architecture of the house, despite its size.

The driver took Silver through the entrance, and Silver was indeed surprised to see soldiers saluting him. He could only guess that he had a reasonable rank in the army, and that explains his cold attitude. But if that was the case, why would he be playing the role of a driver?

They went inside the house, and Silver wasn't too surprised by the sight. It had a very spacious living room, with a mini library at the corner, a small desk, and also a small wine bar. The staircase was just beside the bar. The room had kind of a dark theme, with woods, as the main source of painting.

Silver was surprised to see only four chairs in a living room as large as that. His eyes soon shifted to the interior decor, and it wasn't too bad. He saw a few paintings on the woody bricks which served as walls. The paintings were mostly about mystical animals, and some members of the military, with their names boldly writing at the bottom.

He was busy checking out everywhere when a cough interrupted him.

" Ahem... you are welcome to my humble abode my son. " A soft, yet authoritative voice called out.

" Sire " Silver bowed politely, and was rebuked by a scoff.

" Come on, don't be so formal. You can call me grandfather. " He grinned playfully, and that only made Silver awkward. There was no way he would get used to calling this reputable man ' grandfather ' anytime soon.

Silver noticed the driver saluting before his ' grandfather ', and that was when he finally introduced the driver.

" Oh! This is Lieutenant Maleek. A lieutenant in the Southern coast military region. "

' What?! A lieutenant?! ' Silver screamed inwardly, and remembered the previous ' conversation ' he had with him, which only made his face red from embarrassment.

" Oh, well, since that's all, come let me show you around the house. " Alejandro said while dismissing Maleek.

Mr Alejandro showed Silver some rooms, the kitchen, corridors and hallways, and of course, a training room. However, Silver noticed that a particular place had been kept locked throughout the tour.

Just as if his grandfather knew his thoughts, he finally opened the door with a key he brought out of space, and behold, was a very dark room. His grandfather quickly cast a fire spell, and it lit up a large portion of the room. This made Silver admire magic even more.

Why wasn't there just lamps or lightbulb? he wondered.

" This is my storage room. There is an inner room inside, but this is where I keep my basic artifacts, and I'm going to give you one as a gift, when you are to resume school. " Alejandro smiled.

" You are free to look around, ask questions, but, you are not allowed to touch anything. You have 5 minutes. " He added.

" That won't be necessary. " Silver smiled.

Silver, being a bookworm in his school days, felt excited, and started going through some things. He saw some amulets, which only the newly awakened wears. It could improve their cultivation rate by 20%, and would be useless once their magic evolved.

He saw others like, weapons, necklaces and bracelets, wood carvings, and ores. All these were just for beginner and newly advanced magic. He wondered what could be in the inner room. Finally, he decided to take a look at the weapons. He could see daggers, scythe, arrows, hand knives, swords, and others. But, he suddenly felt drawn to the sword group. He inspected each one of them with the help of the system telling him their names, origin, and uses.

There was one, which was coloured bright and shiny in silver colour, and had a rough body, with sharp tooths which looked like they could be protruded and retracted, giving it an odd but beautiful shape, that caught it's attention. He tried inspecting it with his system.

" Name: toothed Excalibur

Uses: fighting at long range, for giving a

deadly blow to the enemy.

On the other hand, the old man kept looking at the young boy, wondering why he was inspecting a particular sword closely. He had to admit that he had good eyes.

Just as he was about touching the sword, the old man called him out.

" Do not touch anything! Time up! Come, let me show you to your room. You would be resuming school in two days. "

Silver felt sad he didn't touch the sword, but felt happy at the mention of him resuming a magic school. His grandfather showed him a room and opened it with a key. Soonest, Silver settled down, and decided to have a good rest, when he heard an annoying beep.

" Daily quest: Train in the training room for 2 hours.

Rewards: +5 strength points, +2 combat skill points.

New: Unlock level 3 of any stat, to get a special feature. "

Silver groaned annoyed about the so-called system behaviour. Why can't it wait for him to have a nice nap? He however, ignored it and continued his sleep, with a plan of completing the quest the next morning. Like, who does training at noon?

He had slept for about 30 minutes, when he heard a shout in a microphone.

" Level 2 Emergency! Soldiers, rush to the north, a group of Three-eyed Leopard has surfaced near the mountain border! "

" What? A beast in daylight? " Silver was totally shocked.
