94 Collar

A little before the incident happened involving Pixel and the dangerous explosives that could have killed many people, there were many other locations that had similar things happening.

Some happened moments before or came shortly after but each of them had been targeted attacks.

Rufus was sitting reading some documents when a child had appeared near the door that had been blocked off by his guards.

The child seemed to be begging for some food until the guards had become suspicious of the motives of the child once they picked up on the smell coming from them.

Their eyes became wide with shock as they called out. "Master! Danger! Get…"

A huge explosive sound spread from their direction and those closest to it were the ones to suffer the most.

Rufus was a little further away but was knocked back by the blast and was left injured.

That was not the end of his misfortune and the building that was damaged had come crashing down onto his body.

He was fading in and out of consciousness but he tried to struggle to remain awake. "Ugh.."

Hurried footsteps started to get closer to him and excited voices followed. "Hurry! There is a survivor! Hahaha."

The people started to search through the fallen debris left behind from the explosion and the destroyed building.

Their actions were very quick like they had been prepared to act beforehand.

Rufus felt something strange being placed around his neck before he was dragged out then carried away.

He fell unconscious and lay weakly with a slave collar around his neck.

There was one guard that had died that was closest to the blast while another had suffered near fatal injuries and burns.

A nearby shadow guard had arrived at the scene to chase after the people carrying away Rufus and the other Minks that were captured and still alive.

Just as they had removed a ninja style sword to stab towards the back of those people, it was surrounded by the channelled Electro but was negated by a similar force once another sword had clashed with it.

A cloaked Mink wearing a mask had stopped them and fought back so their swords had continued to clash.

Their sword clashes came from many angles and created a lot of noise which led to people being directed to their location.

Just as the shadow guard had gained the upper hand and pushed back the other Mink, he went in for the killing blow but was caught off guard.

An attack suddenly came silently from behind which had stabbed into their waist and the Electro travelled within the wound. "Ugh!"

"Quick!"

"I will hold them."

The shadow guard was quickly subdued and a slave collar was put around their neck once they were rendered unconscious.

The head of the Meridian family and many Minks that were closely related to him had been captured and their future fate did not look too good.

If they did not die from their wounds then their lives would be one filled with suffering.

There would be those that would be able to adjust to the life of a captive or slave of someone else but it would be much harder for Rufus who was brought up as a noble and was already very old.

As he was being carried away through the streets, a cloaked hyena Mink was sitting in a high position overlooking everything that happened.

A cruel smirk appeared on his face. "Gyahaha. Oh Rufus. How you have fallen. Do not worry. You will not be alone."

His gaze turned towards the direction of the other explosions that were triggered which caused him to look more relaxed. 'This should be over soon. The Marines would never have agreed to this so they must be on their way so we need to get out of here quickly.

Luckily they were so easy to bribe so that they would not be around to interfere with the plan. It was a shame that we had to use this method but a head on confrontation was too risky and required more time to complete.'

Not many would have suspected a child to be an assassin that was carrying explosives on their bodies.

Children were usually the best kind of assassins that could be used against most people due to them being highly underestimated by adults and them looking so harmless.

Not every Mink had access to Haki so they could not pick up on what was hidden beneath their clothes like Pixel had done.

There could have been those that may have been able to pick up the sound or smell coming from them but they may not have guessed that the children were carrying explosives on them.

The only reason why the team guarding Rufus had been able to warn Rufus in advance was due to them being faster than others to check over the children that approached them.

The children had been stopped at the door so it had saved the life of Rufus but they were unable to have enough time to save themselves.

Those caught up in the explosion would be left dead, injured or greatly disoriented so it would allow for them to be taken advantage of during their vulnerable state.

The nearby criminals and those affiliated with the Glutt family had taken action quickly as they had mainly focussed on taking down the main force belonging to Rufus.

Once the shadow guards were lured out, they sent out more of their people to quickly deal with them.

It was only a matter of time before each of the hiding shadow guards of the Meridian family would be pulled out into the open before they could no longer be considered as a threat to the plans of the Glutt family.

The heirs that were only thirteen years of age were not considered that big of a threat so the Glutt family expected that they would be dealt with just as quickly.
