Beast Nest

Mason and Remi were at the entrance of a Beast Nest.

They had decided they would go in and kill the beasts since there were a lot in a small space, this would boost their efficiency by a lot.

For Mason, this was the best place to hunt. He was confident in his ability to kill any of the beasts in it, he also had a strong AOE-skill.

Remi had a mixed opinion, she knew Mason was strong but he was also reckless. Beast Nests are way more dangerous than normal dungeons, since it was more crowded.

They wouldn't be able to fight them one at a time like usual, they would be fighting two or three at once.

"Are you sure we can do this?" She asked.

Mason looked at her confidently.

"Of course we can, you've still never seen me go all-out."

Her nerves calmed a bit as she knew it was true, Mason had never been near Mana Exhaustion ever since she knew him.

They then entered the Beast Nest and started fighting, breaks weren't allowed for the first hour. The beasts weren't nice enough to go out of their way.

Mason was smiling as he heard the notifications for killing all the beasts, this was truly the best!

"It's getting crowded! Use that one spell you used against that guy we saw earlier!" Remi yelled.

Mason nodded as he used Ice Wave. The beasts died instantly as most of them didn't have a lot of HP.

He didn't know how many of the beasts had died but if he guessed it was around 15.

Remi had a shocked look on her face as she kept fighting against the beasts, not knowing that what she had just seen was only the tip of the iceberg.

Mason casted Ice Wave a couple more times as around 50 more beasts died.

"What the fuck! You should've told me you could do that before we went in here you dumbass!" Remi shouted at him.

Mason smiled.

'That's the first time she's said fuck since I've known her. I didn't know princesses could be so impulsive with their words.'

They now had more time to calm down since a large amount of the beasts nearby had died.

"How much Mana do you have left?" Remi asked him.

"You don't want to know." Mason said with a mysterious smile.

She decided he could still go on for a while and they went back to killing the beasts.

They kept hunting until it was around 2:00 AM, they were both tired and they needed sleep. One of them had to stay on guard so Mason decided to sacrifice himself.

'This is kind of fun, even though it's tiring as hell I can feel my combat ability improving. I've also levelled up quite a bit since the expedition started.'

'System, show me my status.'

He had gained eight levels and levelled up to level 37, his physical body wouldn't be inferior to his magical ability now.

He also collected more than 3000 system points again, he didn't know if he wanted to do 10 Normal Spins or get a Premium one yet.

The System had also told him that if he reached certain levels, the System could upgrade too.

He didn't know what level he had to reach but he was looking forward to it since the System had helped him an insane amount up until now.

He was stuck in thought as a beast crept up behind him. Mason killed the beast easily with an Ice Lance but he still got a scare and decided to focus on guarding.

There were more beasts in this place so there would be more beasts approaching their tent. They had to eat food but most food was already taken by the others, thus they had to go hunt things they didn't want to.

It was another heavenly five hours for Remi as Mason had to fight a beast at least once every hour, you could say it was unfair but Remi would have to do the same now.

"Remi, wake up. It's your turn to guard now." Mason said as he jumped into bed and fell asleep instantly.

The girl woke up with a confused look on her face.

'How do you even fall asleep that quickly, is he a sloth?'

That night, neither of them ate as Remi promised herself that she would force Mason to make her breakfast next morning.

The next day.

Mason had woken up again and was currently cooking breakfast. He didn't know why, but when he woke up Remi was forcing him to cook even if he wasn't really hungry.

He was cooking the beasts she had slain while he was asleep, and you best believe it was insanely good.

After they finished eating, they went out again. They wanted to finish this nest by tomorrow, Mason had to know if he could fight level 25 beasts after all.

You'd think fighting beasts all day even though you could beat them easily would get boring, but Mason didn't think so since he was testing out all kinds of ways he could use his skills.

He wanted to not only be the main damage in a team, he wanted to be able to execute all roles possible.

He still preferred to fight alone though, he didn't want to go all-out with just anybody watching, that'd be akin to sending himself to his death.

There were plenty of weirdos who liked to kill talented people they couldn't recruit into their own team, Mason wasn't planning on being of of those people.

Killing the beasts went quicker than they thought it would, this was also because Mason became comfortable about showing Remi his full strength.

He wasn't worried about her telling anybody because she didn't have any friends nor any family who liked her.

In the end, they still fought the entire day. Remi was weirded out by Mason's massive amount of mana supply.

'Does he not have the ability to run out of mana? He has been going for hours on end!'

When it was once again evening, around 7:00 PM. They finally reached the end of the Beast Nest. Now they only had one more obstacle: The leader.

Every nest had its leader. The leader was the most powerful of them all and led them, they usually had a special trait.

Mason had never fought a beast with a special trait yet so he instantly got excited.

'System, can u sense what level the beast is and show me its trait too please!' Mason asked the System.
