Overlord: Supremacy

This fanfiction follows the journey of a young man who, despite being crippled, finds solace in playing the DMMORPG Yggdrasil. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he is transported to a new world. While the premise might seem cliché at first glance, I assure you this story is anything but typical. I've poured my efforts into crafting a unique and immersive narrative, and I hope you'll give it a chance. ----- A warning though: the new world and other worlds will be AU (Alternate Universe), meaning certain things will be different. This story is based on another author’s work called 'Overlord Ascension,' which was dropped. I received permission to continue it in his stead. Additionally, English is not my native language, so I ask for your understanding if any mistakes slip through despite my use of Grammarly. Unlike other Overlord fanfics where the MC simply conquers the world, this story will take a different path. How, you ask? Well, you'll have to read it to find out.

Battle of Carne I

'What should I call myself. If I tell her my in-game and if there were Players in this world, I would be found out immediately.'

Although he had told Guu his in-game name, that was because he had planned to kill him later on, but this was different. In Yggdrasil, Raizel was a well-known Player because of his unconventional build and because he was a famous Pk'er.

If the items' and classes' Flavor Text hadn't become a reality in the new world, he might have given his in-game name, but things were different. Because their Flavor Text became a reality in the new world and the prevalence of hardcore role-players suggested that some might wield items with unusual Flavor Text.

'Hmm, let's give them a made-up name. That should be feasible for the time being.'

He contemplated his choices before smirking slightly and turning around, facing the sisters.

"You'd do well to remember my name. My name is Frankenstein— you can call me Franken.'

~Scene Change~

Rovan and Guu were running through the forest toward the village. The Slave Vampiric Knight was a level 35 monster, and it specialized in sword skills and could cast some blood-related 2nd-tier spells. Because of this, it was considered a level 45 monster, despite its original level.

Their swift pace brought them to the village in no time, where two knights stood guard. One of the knights caught sight of Rovan and Guu emerging from the forest, but before he could react, Guu lunged forward, swiftly severing his head from his body. The limp form collapsed to the ground, leaving the other knight stunned.

"What.... the..... hell?" The other knight was terrified and took a step back. This was due to a passive of the Vampiric Troll called Fear Inducing Aura that caused any being whose level was lower than it to be afflicted with fear. Of course, this was useless against those with Mind Control Immunity like undead and golems.

Turning his attention to the second knight, Guu dispatched him effortlessly, leaving the area silent save for their heavy breaths.

"Weak, these humans are weak," Guu growled in a guttural tone.

"So it seems. Let's not waste any time and finish our mission," Rovan replied, his voice steady as he approached the village entrance.

Upon entering the village, Rovan spotted more knights lingering on the outskirts.

"I will handle them. You head deeper into the village and deal with the remaining knights," Rovan instructed, determination firm in his voice.

Saying this, Rovan began walking toward the knights— who were busy searching the houses.

Guu continued moving deeper into the village and began any knight that came in his way. And before a few minutes, he had already reached the village's center, where the remaining knights and the villagers were present.

Without waiting, Guu bellowed out and lunged toward the nearest knight. This got the attention of the knights. Because of his Fear Inducing Aura, the knights nearest to him failed to do anything, and soon their heads rolled on the ground, and their bodies fell to the ground with a thud.

As Guu's Fear Inducing Aura had a limited range, only the knights closest to him were affected by the overwhelming fear it induced.

"What in the hell is that thing?" one of the knights exclaimed, but his question hung unanswered in the air as all present shared the same perplexity.

Before any knight could attack it, Guu moved with insane speed that didn't match his large frame and dispatched two more knights in a singular attack.

After this, Guu wasted no time and began his dance of death. With each attack, a knight fell. All the villagers saw this massacre with agape mouths and apprehension apparent in their eyes.

'Will this monster kill them after killing the knights?'

'Is this the end for them?' Such questions reverberated in their minds, and they wanted to run away. Yet, they didn't do anything out of fear.

Guu showed no signs of relenting in its rampage, and within a brief span, the number of knights had significantly dwindled.

~POV Shift~

Londes Di Gelanpo had probably cursed his gods more times in the past ten seconds than he had in the rest of his life. If the gods really did exist. Then, they should defeat that evil being right now.

Londes was a faithful man- why had the gods abandoned him? The answer was simple;

The gods did not exist.

In the past, he had looked down on those who did not believe in the gods as fools. After all, if the gods did not exist, how could the priests work their magic? And now, he realized that he was the foolish one.

The monster before him drew closer.

He took two steps back in response, trying to get away from it. A shrill creaking noise came from his armor, and the sword he clutched in both hands was trembling uncontrollably.

He was not the only one; the remaining ten knights surrounding the monster were all acting the same way.

Although they were filled with fear, none of them ran. This was not courage—the grinding of their teeth could attest to that.

Given the chance, they would run as fast and as far as they could.

It was because they knew there was no escape. Londes's eyes shifted, pleading for help.

Just then, he heard the voice of someone.

"You, you lot, go hold that monster back!" a desperate knight shouted. He knew that his fate was sealed.

The man who spoke was standing next to the monster. The knight was none other than their captain, Belius.

Londes's frown deepened.

Overcome by his lewd desires, he had tried to rape a village girl and then sought help from others after he got into a fight with her father. After he was pulled off the other man, he vented his anger by stabbing the father with his sword.

That was the kind of man he was. However, his family was quite wealthy in their country, and he joined this unit because of his family's riches. Everything had gone wrong because he had been made their captain.

"I'm not someone who should die here! All of you, hurry up and protect me! Be my s--"

Before he could finish his sentence, the monster swiftly dispatched him, silencing his voice forever.

~3rd Person~

Just then, everyone in the vicinity heard a regal voice.

"That's enough." As soon as the voice was heard, the monster stopped his massacre and assumed a relaxed posture.

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice, revealing a man clad in black knight armor, floating in the air, flanked by two girls.

"If you don't want to be killed, surrender peacefully. Or else..." He didn't finish his sentence, yet everyone understood the meaning. It was either they surrendered or met the sword of the monster.

Everybody had seen how the man had effortlessly stopped the monster, which meant that he was way more powerful than it.

"We surrender! Soldiers, drop your swords and kneel!" Londes took charge, assuming the leader's position, and set the example by being the first to lay down his sword.

"Yes, yes, I surrender— please don't kill me."

Within seconds, all the knights had laid down their swords and kneeled, hoping for mercy. Meanwhile, Raizel was engrossed in his own monologue.

'Pathetic! Utterly pathetic. If only a level 40 monster could do this, then what about level 70 summons or even higher ones. But these may be exceptionally weak even among other humans. I can't grow complacent, I should send them to the cave and extract as much information as possible.'

Ending his inner monologue, he pointed toward an empty space and cast <Gate >, which caused a purple portal to appear. This caused astonishing gasps from the bunch.

"What?"

"What kind of magic is that?"

"Now listen! If you want to live? Enter that portal, or don't blame me for being ruthless." Raizel spoke while slowly floating downward.

The knights hesitated, exchanging uncertain glances, unsure of their next move. "I don't have the entire day, hurry up or be killed!" Raizel's shout spurred them into action, giving them the final push they needed. With hesitant steps, all of them entered the portal.

"Huh, idiots. You go too," Raizel chuckled, issuing a command to Guu, who complied and followed suit, disappearing into the portal. After which, Raizel closed the portal and turned toward the villagers.

'Time to put on a performance.'

"Greetings, everyone. My name is Frankenstein, but please, call me Franken. Please be at ease; you have been saved."

"You, you are..." One of the villagers spoke.

"I saw someone attacking this village, so I came here to help."

"Ohh..." As the noises spilled out, looks of relief dawned on the faces of the villagers.

With this, Raizel has made his first interaction with the humans of this world.

~Scene Change~

Raizel was sitting inside the house of the village chief. It had been half an hour since he had saved them from the Theocracy's knights, and he was not extracting information from the chief.

Till now, he had gathered valuable information regarding his immediate surroundings. It turned out that he was near the border of two nations, the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Baharuth Empire.

These two nations were at odds with each other, and according to the chief, the knights attacking the village were from the Baharuth Empire, however, this speculation was wrong. Because according to Rovan, they were a part of the Slane Theocracy.

"Hmm, why would the Theocracy be targeting villages in Re-Estize? There doesn't seem to be any hostility between them. Even Rovan and the other knights are in the dark about this."

"Franken-sama, are you alright?" The chief inquired, concern lacing his tone as Raizel had fallen silent for some time.

"Yes, everything is fine. Continue your explanation." Raizel spoke in the same regal tone while focusing on the map— laid on the wooden table.

"Certainly, Franken-sama."

It took over an hour for Raizel to extract all the information he needed from the Chief. However, the information proved lacking in several key areas, such as details on leveling up and comprehensive insights into the different nations.

"Hmm, the knights have proven useful in that regard. But, I think going to the town is inevitable if I want to gather more information about the kingdom I am in."

Raizel mussed while leaning against a tree, overlooking the burial. The burial ceremony was held in a nearby communal graveyard. It was surrounded by a broken-down fence, and within it were several circular stone slabs inscribed with people's names.

'I am also curious about these Six Great Gods. According to the knights, they were the ones who formed the Slane Theocracy 600 years ago. And we're also the ones who helped humanity overcome powerful monsters. Were they real gods or some pretenders?'

Raizel thought, scratching his chin as he observed the Chief offering prayers for the dead. He spotted the sisters he saved among the other villagers — Enri Emmott and Nemu Emmott. Their parents' bodies were among those that would be buried today.

"Guess I should head back. I don't think I can get much more from this place," he muttered, straightening himself out. Just as he was about to start walking, he halted in his step.

"Things are about to become interesting," muttering this, he began walking toward the village's entrance.
