Chapter 3: -The Attempt-

Back to the marketplace courtyard.

"Mama! My head hurts." Arinitti said while whimpering.

Minerva immediately kneeled down next to her daughter and felt her forehead. "Oh my little angel, you're burning up-."

As she was feeling Arinitti's forehead, a gunshot rang. The clashing of metal on metal happened for a split second.

Augustus, the butler for the family. Blocked the gunshot after sensing something amiss with observation haki, using his devil fruit, the Tetsu Tetsu no mi, a logia fruit that allows him to control, create, and transform into metal at will. Though not very useful for his butler duties, it's amazing for defense. 

The clashing of metal was Augustus blocking the bullet with his arm transformed to iron. Luckily no haki was used in the bullet.

Arinitti looked up at Augustus in shock. Minerva was patting her head as the sound of wings flapping filled the marketplace as 30 guards had arrived, clad in black armor with silver lining 10 of them quickly surrounded the trio with shields at the ready incase of any more attempts while the other 20 quickly pursued the attempted assassinator.

A few hours later

The mother-daughter duo was currently on the couch. Arinitti's head on her mother's lap as she was being gently patted on the head by her mother.

There were 10 more armed guards surrounding the house, along with the families armed guards totaling to around 50 guarding the family from another attempted assassinations.

Meanwhile at Eldenhold Palace

There were various guards marching in perfect formation, patrolling the palace grounds and halls, in case of another attack on another member of the family.

Adia D. Ares, the Celestial General, and father to Adia D. Arinitti; was being briefed on various situations happening throughout the kingdom, various spies from presumably the World Government being captured, a few nobles had been murdered by these assassins and spies. 

The highest profile target in these attacks was Adia D. Ares' own wife, Orel Minerva, the 3rd child and 1st born daughter to the Orel royal family. 

Thankfully the attack failed due to Augustus' interference. However a total of nine nobles related distantly to the royal family and in charge of various operations in the city have been assassinated. 

The number was by no means big, there was thousands of nobles all in charge of various projects in the kingdom. However, to assassinate nine of them at once as well as the attempted assassination to the first princess was infuriating to the higher ups of the kingdom. 

Thankfully, they captured 18 total spies and assassins, with all of them being heavily guarded by elite forces and being interrogated by all forms of means.

Ares was frustrated that they couldn't do anything about this, the World Government, who was suspected to be the perpetrator, was too large, too vast. To even deal a significant blow back would suffer the wrath of numerous high profile targets. The world government had the three admirals, numerous vice-admirals, as well as Fleet Admiral Sengoku 'the Buddha' and Garp 'the Fist'. Both Sengoku and Garp being Yonko level at the least..

The Orel'Bora Kingdom only had Celestial General Adia D. Ares 'the Dragon', and the King of Orel'Bora at Yonko level. Their forces weren't weak per se, but they didn't have the numbers advantage in this situation. Considering there was plenty of vice-admiral level opponents as well as the Admirals themselves to deal with.

So currently Orel'Bora was in a sort of 'shadow war' with the World Government. They've been locked in this dance for centuries now, slowly escalating but until now neither side has attacked the others home turf.

It's time for a counter attack..

Back in Orel'Bora Noble District, Evangelion Mansion.

Minerva was still gently soothing Arinitti's hair as she was slightly nervous about what happened.

"Mama, what happened back in the marketplace." Arinitti asked her mother in a child-like nervous voice.

Minerva patted Arinitti's head, "There was an attempt to hurt mommy. But luckily Augustus saved me." Minerva continued, "What made your head start hurting, my little angel?" 

Arinitti asked, "I-it felt like a dream, like I saw the attempt happen before.. then my head started hurting and I felt hot." She snuggled closer to her mother.

Minerva was a bit surprised about what her little angel said, it was almost like she unlocked future sight for this incident? But that's impossible since she's only four years old..

Minerva continued soothing her daughter's nerves, "Hush, it was probably just a coincidence. As you can see everyone is fine. Your papa has probably already captured the ones that tried to hurt mommy anyways." Minerva distracting her daughter.

Arinitti was successfully distracted from what happened by the mention of her father, "Yeah! Papa is the strongest!" She broke off into giggles as Minerva started tickling her.

A few hours later, 6pm

Adia D. Ares walked into his house. Arinitti was asleep on the couch, dinner already being had between mother and daughter. 

Ares had been busy at the palace, dealing with the aftermath and planning the kingdom's next steps with his king along with various officials.

Minerva noticed her husband entering the house and made a 'be quiet' gesture as she carefully guided him into the dining room. There was still some food left as he started to sit down.

Ares asked his wife, "How are you, my love?" 

Minerva bit her lip, "I'm fine, thanks to Augustus. We really invested well with him. Getting him that logia fruit."

Ares nodded in agreement then asked, "How is little Arinitti?"

Minerva looked thoughtful for a few moments before responding, "I think she may have awakened future sight, though it seems she cant control it yet.."

Ares looked surprised for a moment, asking his wife, "Are you sure? Isn't that supposed to be the highest form of observation haki?"

Minerva nodded yes but responded, "Yes and no, for normal people it is. For the Odel bloodline some of us awaken it right off the bat, though it still needs to be trained."

Ares nodded and started to finish eating, his wife massaging his shoulders.

Minerva looked at her husband, "So what was father's response to the attack?"
