Vs Artur Bacca

AN: A few lines are copy-pasted from the wiki, since I did not want to rewrite them, and I did not want my readers to break immersion to go back and forth between the wiki. I did this assuming that most of my readers (and me) have not read One Piece novel Law and do not know or have very low knowledge of the events that transpired.

The civilians spread out in the port. This was done so that if they are clustered, they would be wiped out with a few cannon shots.

I had already got my weapons and ammo. My weapons included a katana, the modified flintlock pistol, and the modified flintlock rifle.

The katana was of good quality, not any meito but decent. I also had a bullet pouch on my hip and a bag full of round bullets. The bag also contained a small pouch of gun powder.

I quickly climbed a building and took cover behind a wall on the rooftop.

Penguin and Drake evacuated the children of the orphanage to Wolf's home and they too joined me along with others of my gang.

Everyone was armed with the weapons of their choice.

I wasted no time and started sniping the pirates.

I already had very good proficiency in sniping.

I took my first few shots at Artur and his elites, but they just blocked it or dodged it. I guess I was expecting too much.

But, that does not mean that I cannot kill the fodder. This time, I aimed at his fodder, mainly prioritizing the ones who were at the cannons.

As expected the fodder could not do anything about it. Every shot was a headshot. And his fodder dropped dead like flies.

"Boss our crew is dying. Please do something"

"You useless people can't even defend against a few bullets"

But taking control over his anger, Artur soon gave an order "They have a very good sniper, take cover behind something. Conney, take the helm"

"Yes boss"

Conney is Artur's, right-hand man. In the canon, he almost defeated Bepo, Penguin, and Sachi, but Bepo used his sulong form to turn the fight.

I had no way of killing them now since I could not attack through their covers and I did not master bullet bending. But at the same time, they too were handicapped and could not use their cannons, preventing civilian casualties thus far.

I could sense Artur's emotions, and he was damn angry.

I occasionally increase my haki range to sense their ship, since the distance is too much for the current me to passively sense it, and I cannot afford to waste my haki now.

The civilians were in an uproar seeing all the pirates dying and taking cover. They started talking among themselves

"Who is killing them?"

"The gunshots are coming from that side"

"But who is doing it? Nobody in our town is such a good marksman"

"Is it some bounty hunter who is temporarily staying here?"

"Let us find that person after this, and thank him properly"

I held my fire for now again since there was no use to waste bullets. This gave some fodders confidence and they came out of their cover, resulting again in a headshot.

The ship reached the port, but Artur was getting angry.

"Get out all of you and start fighting."

"But boss that sniper will kill us"

This time Artur simply smashed the head of the one who said that.

The others got the message and started coming out of the cover to attack, but with me here, how could they do anything.

Before they even got out of the ship, I had already taken the heads of all 5 enemy marksmen.

In the next 10 seconds, every cannon fodder was dead with a bullet in their head.

There were only 2 people left. Artur and his right-hand Conney.

Seeing this Artur was beyond angry. It is not easy to gather people, even if they are canon fodders. Now he lost them all, and it will take a long time to rebuild the crew.

Artur ate the Dero Dero no Mi, a paramecia that allow the user to dissolve themselves and the will of others into a liquid, making the user a Soluble Human.

The most common use of this fruit is for the user to dissolve themselves into a liquid, effectively making them immune from physical attacks. When dissolving, the user can control the acidity of their body, allowing them to gradually melt things that touch them

The fruit can also be used to "dissolve" the will of others, placing them under the control of the fruit's user. If the ability is not canceled within 24 hours of being triggered, then the affected person will die. To trigger this ability, the user must make direct eye contact with the victim, meaning that anything to block vision is effective in countering it, including reflective lenses.

While in liquid form, the user is completely immune to physical attacks, but can still be affected by electricity-based attacks, as the electricity still courses through the liquid form.

In the story, Law defeated him using a countershock.

Artur is strong physically too. I can sense his strength to be on my level. He most likely does not have any form of haki, but I too do not have logia like devil fruit, or armament haki which can hurt him.

In this case, I have a clear weakness against him.

The best strategy would be to include Bepo in my fight and shock him when he becomes soluble.

As far as Conney is concerned, anyone from Drake and above can defeat him barring Law without his devil fruit.

Artur, who was a ruthless person, did not hesitate to put all the civilians present in his control. Wolf managed to escape his control since he knew about the devil fruit.

"Oi sniper, come out. The people are in my control. I will order them to die. If you care about them come out now"

Wolf could not stand this. He was like a guardian to us and he knew that I will come out to save the civilians.

"Artur, have you gone mad. Attacking this town again? Release them now"

"Oh... you are still alive old man. Bring out that sniper, and the legendary treasure, and I will release them. I promise"

Wolf did not fall for this and he charged at Artur.

Artur, with a swing of his mace, knocked his father out instantly.

I had speculation about this will dissolving thing, so I just experimented with something on a person who was behind Artur and standing in the last. After seeing my experiment successful, I sighed in relief.

Thor and Hodur too noticed my experiment.

I put down the rifle. I had no way of fighting this logia-like guy with my rifle.

All of us climbed down the building and walked to Artur.

"Leave Wolf-san. We are here" I said

"Huh? You kids were sniping, don't joke"

I responded with a quick draw headshot at Artur with my pistol. He did not die thanks to his logia-like body, but the message went across.

"Baccacacacaca... brat. You are good. How about you join me?"

"Shall I consider you a fool or ignorant? Why will I join someone who is about to die by my hands"

"Oh, how arrogant. Join me or the people die"

I could not let the people die, so I asked my buddies

"Thor, Hodur, let's do that".

To this, both of them nodded.

3 invisible waves were released by us, covering the entire controlled population.

Each and every controlled person dropped. With our current strength, knocking out this many people would be impossible, but Artur eased the process for us by dissolving their will.

I had done this experiment with one of the civilians and it needed much less haki from my side to knock him out. This also helped us hide our true strength from the public.

Artur was shocked.

He tried to dissolve my will, but it did not work. I was surprised, but I got the reason. My haki is too strong for him to dissolve. Just like how the Yonko's haki was much stronger than Law and Law could not teleport them.

Conney: "How? How did you do that?"

Thor: "Do all dead people have such curiosity?"

Artur and Conney were well beyond angry at this point.

I simply laid down my strategy

"Bepo you stay with me. No need to fight him, just stay here for now. I will call you if needed"

"Sachi, go to the orphanage and bring out the box of bottles below my bed and stay with Bepo. I will tell you what to do post that."

"Others, fight this other guy."

Thor wanted to fight Artur, but he always listened to my orders.

I started my fight. If I just wanted to win, I could come up with a strategy easily, but I needed a strong opponent for my next breakthrough.

My katana and his mace clashed. His mace was made of steel and so was my katana. But in this clash, my katana was at a disadvantage.

We kept clashing. Artur bought down the mace and I deflected it. I countered it with another swing but he stepped back and blocked it.

It was clear from a few clashes, I was much faster than him and we had equal strength. So after every 5 hits, I manage to land a slash on him without using observation haki, but the logia body neutralizes it all.

Sooner I focused my ears and my observation haki focused on his mace entirely. After clashing for a certain amount of time, I felt like I heard something.

I could not pinpoint it but I continued what I was doing. After a few clashes, I heard the same thing but for a little more time. Not wasting the opportunity this time, I slashed at the mace.

This time, a spike in the mace chipped a little. I was glad that I was getting there.

Slowly but surely I was able to listen to the breath of the steel and the mace was losing its spikes.

Artur was getting angry seeing his mace lose its spikes like that, but nonetheless, he continued.

After a while, once I decided that it was enough.

I backed out from the fight a bit and put my katana back into the sheath and got into an iai stance.

Artur realized that I was serious this time and he readied himself.

"One sword style, quick draw: Victory slash"

"Artur smash!!!"

Meanwhile on Conney's side,

Thor: "I will handle this alone. I need to gain control of my haki"

Law: "Oi, don't go taking our opponent like that. We might need to help Jai deal with that weird devil fruit user"

Thor: "No need to worry about him. He will not lose. He might not be able to find a way to kill the guy, but he will not lose."

Hodur: "He has already figured out some way to deal with the guy. I sensed his confidence"

Thor: "So that decides it. I will fight him alone and train my haki"

Conney: "Oi, don't you brats think you are underestimating me a lot? I am not like those trash that you people just sniped. Even that sniper brat could not kill me"

Thor: "Thahahahaha... Jai could not kill you? Don't joke. He left you to us so that we become stronger. He could have killed you in less than 10 seconds if he wanted to"

"You sure have some confidence in a brat who will soon die to my captain, but then again, you will die to me too"

"Let's see who dies. No one else will interfere"

Thor pulled out a piece of cloth from his pocket and used it to blindfold himself.

They started fighting. Conney was a very strong sumo wrestler. He slammed his palm forward at Thor.

Thor sensed this and deflected his palm to the side. And proceeded to attack his knee.

The sumo seeing this dodged it. It should be noted that Conney is not very fast, but he is experienced. On the seas, he fought against many types of enemies. Some used swords and were very fast. But did he die to them? Obviously not. It was his experience that helped him fight countless enemies with different fighting styles.

Conney counter-attacked with another palm strike, but this time Thor's haki did not activate. He took the strike and crashed onto the ground a few meters far.

When he got up, he was bleeding from both his forehead and his mouth. He had taken quite a blow, but he did not give up.

Conney took the initiative to attack this time, but Thor sensed him again. He dodged and hit Conney's head this time with his hammer.

Conney's head got shaken this time, but nonetheless, he continued.

They continued to exchange blows and damages started to pile up.

Eventually, Thor was able to call forth his haki at a much more frequent rate and he took much lesser blows. He even stopped counterattacking Conney because he needed to improve further and he needed Conney standing for that.

Conney was surprised to see Thor's improvement. He became angry as soon he saw that Thor stopped counterattacking.

"Oi brat, you are taking me too lightly. I will kill you now"

"Then kill me. I even blindfolded myself to give you this handicap"

The fight continued and eventually, Thor was dodging Conney's almost every blow.

Thor too had enough as he got his breakthrough in haki and decided to end this here.

Thor pulled back his Warhammer and got ready to launch himself.

Conney too pulled his arms back for his final strike.

"Double palm strike"

"Skull crusher: Ragnarok barrage"
