In the world of powerful pirates, Big Mom stood out as a force that could threaten global stability.

The World Government, with its centuries of secret strength, could have taken down any pirate crew if they chose to.

However, they didn't always choose to use their full power. Pirates like Big Mom served a purpose, after all.

There were exceptions, of course—terrifying figures like Whitebeard and Kaido, whom even the World Government hesitated to confront.

In the anime, it wasn't until the number of pirates and their collective power grew too much to handle that the government began actively trying to eliminate them.

...

In the midst of battle, Brontes faced Big Mom with a grin, his body transforming into lightning and vanishing in an instant.

Big Mom charged, her attack slicing through nothing but empty air.

Brontes reappeared some distance away, his body returning to its normal form.

He decided not to continue using his Thor: Speed Mode; it was too exhausting, and staying in an elemental form for too long drained his stamina.

"Thor's Enhancement!"

Brontes was ready to fight. He was curious and excited to see how his left arm would perform in a real battle.

...

"ZliZli!!"

Brontes was instantly covered in Armament Haki, and lightning coursed through him, boosting his strength. His body didn't bulk up as much as it used to with this technique, but he still grew more muscular.

Big Mom watched Brontes's transformation with a mix of surprise and realization.

She now understood how difficult fighting him was.

"What's this technique?!"

His strength was beyond what she had expected. It made sense to her now why he had been promoted to Admiral at such a young age; the Marines wouldn't hand out a position just below Fleet-Admiral without true strength to back it up.

"Lightning Flash!"

Brontes didn't bother answering Big Mom. Instead, he stepped forward, closing the distance between them in a blink.

Big Mom let out a laugh: "MaMaMa! You've slowed down. It looks like you can't keep up that state forever."

She quickly figured out why Brontes had changed his fighting style; his high-speed technique must have a limit.

Seeing her chance, Big Mom smiled, sensing victory was in her reach: "This annoying bastard finally can't keep up." She thought.

"Go to hell!" She shouted, raising her fist and swinging it toward Brontes with all her might. In terms of raw strength, she had few rivals in the world, Kaido and Garp being exceptions.

Their fists met with a thunderous "Boom! Rumble!"

But in the next moment, Big Mom's confident expression changed, her eyes widening in shock. Brontes's fist, powered by his left arm, was pushing her back with an incredible force.

"Ah! How is this possible?!" She cried out.

"Boom!"

The force of the impact sent Big Mom flying.

She was knocked off Zeus and hurled into the middle of the distant battlefield, creating a massive shockwave upon impact.

The powerful collision sent shockwaves through the battlefield, causing both the marines and pirates to stop their clash and turn their attention to the rising dust cloud.

"What happened?" A marine soldier turned his head, his voice filled with astonishment.

"That damn Marine-Admiral, he's got to be finished." Sneered a pirate from Big Mom's crew, confident in their captain's strength.

"That's impossible, Admiral Ragnarok won't lose." The marine shot back, his voice laced with anger and confidence.

"Damn it!"

Amidst the bickering, a voice cut through the tension. All eyes turned to see a towering woman pushing herself up from the ground, her glare fierce and directed into the distance.

"B-Big Mom!" The marines' voices trembled, a chill of fear running down their spines.

"Mommy!" The pirates were equally shocked, staring at Big Mom's disheveled state in disbelief.

"Damn bastard!" Big Mom cursed, inspecting her trembling fist that now bore the clear imprint of a smaller one.

She knew that if her Armament Haki hadn't been stronger than Brontes's, her fist might have been rendered useless.

"Why did he become stronger again?!" She exclaimed, a mix of shock and rage in her voice.

"Are you talking about me?"

Before she could fully recover, Brontes appeared before her, his form crackling with lightning.

"ZliZli!"

"Damn it!" Big Mom was too slow to react as Brontes charged, her attempt to swing her sword futile against his speed.

"Stay down!"

Brontes commanded, his voice thundering over the sound of his fist connecting with Big Mom's cheek, driving her back to the ground. He then unleashed a barrage of punches, each one relentless and aimed at her face.

"Rumble! Bang!"

The ground shook with each impact, dust clouds and shockwaves erupting around them. Big Mom was pinned, defenseless under the mercy of Brontes's lightning-wrapped fists.

Both the pirates and marines watched, their mouths agape at the unfolding scene.

"Admiral is so..." The marines struggled to believe their eyes.

They had expected an even match between Brontes and Big Mom, not this one-sided domination.

Yet, there it was before them—Big Mom, one of the New World's most formidable pirates, being pummeled by Brontes like a mere sandbag.

They were witnessing a side of Brontes that was ferocious, his body sheathed in Armament Haki, his punches charged with devastating power.

They knew anyone else receiving such a beating would not have survived, perhaps not even withstanding a single blow.

The Big Mom Pirates stood in stunned silence, unable to reconcile the sight of their captain, an overlord of the sea, being overwhelmed by Brontes.

"Mommy!!" They cried out, their voices a mix of fear and disbelief.

Oven and his siblings were deeply concerned. Their worry was palpable, a thick tension in the air as they watched the battle.

Perhaps it was the sound of her children's voices that sparked a realization in Big Mom. The humiliation of being pinned down and relentlessly struck was too much to bear.

With a surge of fury, she roared: "Get off me!"

Her immense power was unleashed in a shockwave that sent Brontes flying.

"Wooosh!"

The air itself seemed to tremble as a fearsome aura burst forth from Big Mom. She rose to her feet, and with each step, the ground shook as if in fear of her wrath.

"You! You! I'm going to kill you!"

Her scream was ear-piercing, infused with the might of Conqueror's Haki.

It swept across the battlefield, knocking many combatants to the ground, while others clutched their ears, overwhelmed by the pain.

"I'm right here."

Brontes said coolly. Almost as if he had teleported, he was suddenly behind her, his left arm poised and ready to strike.

"The power in your left arm..." Big Mom recognized the sensation, the same one that had caused her such pain before.

"Pretty strong, isn't it?" Brontes sneered, with a confident smile on his face.

"Your left arm..." Big Mom struggled to speak, her mind racing.

She had endured countless punches, but now she understood—Brontes's arms had varying levels of strength. The left arm delivered a pain that was almost unbearable, while the right was something she could tolerate.

Memories flashed through her mind, recalling the moment Brontes had unwrapped the bandages from his arms before the fight, revealing the tattoos. She had sensed something unusual then.

"ZliZli!"

"Then experience it once more."

His left fist clenched, lightning crackling around it, and with his arm covered in Armament Haki, he launched another powerful punch at her.

"Boom! Rumble!"

The collision was cataclysmic. Lightning exploded outward, creating a shockwave that ripped through the air.

The ground beneath Brontes fractured from the force, and as Big Mom brought her sword down in a desperate slash, it met with his fist.

"Booom!"

The impact of Brontes's punch was like a bolt of spherical lightning, a display of raw power that seemed to challenge the law of nature itself.

"Heavenly Feuer!"

Big Mom unleashed her fearsome technique, Heavens' Fire, seizing Prometheus and hurling the fiery mass at Brontes.

"Rumble! Boom!"

The two forces, lightning and fire, collided with each other, the resulting explosion sent a shockwave tearing across the battlefield.

In the wake of the flames and lightning, neither Big Mom nor Brontes gave ground. Instead, they charged at each other, their clash resounding with the intensity of their wills.

"Kill!" The battle cry erupted from both of them at once.

"Boom! Boom!"

Each confrontation was marked by the sound of Brontes's fist slamming against Big Mom's sword, the force of their blows shattering the earth beneath them with every impact.

...

Meanwhile, away from the epicenter of the battle, Oven had managed to reach Perospero and the others, setting them free.

"We're finally free, let's go support Mom!" Cracker exclaimed, eager to join the battle.

"No, we can't get involved in that kind of fight. Fighting the marines now won't do us any good." Perospero said in a calm voice.

"Why?" Cracker was confused.

"Mom wants to retreat. There's no point in fighting to the death with the Marines. Continuing this fight won't benefit us." Perospero explained.

As the eldest son of Big Mom, Perospero knew his mother's mind better than anyone. She was not one to engage in a battle without gaining anything, especially against an entity as formidable as the marines.

They had already achieved their objective, and there was a certain unspoken agreement between the pirates and the marines, a mutual understanding that governed the delicate balance of power in the New World.

Unless Big Mom decided to delve into the mysteries of the Void Century like the Roger Pirates had, the World Government would not unleash the full might of the Marines against them.

Perospero knew this, and he knew that now was the time for strategic withdrawal, not a fight to the bitter end.
