V for Vendetta

Dec 1515, BlackRock

It was a peaceful evening with calm winds and a beautiful sunset that dyed the skies of BlackRock crimson red. Citizens went about their day as children laughed while returning from school, adults returned from work to their families and the elderly focused on their households and businesses. Underneath this calm chaos was brewing unbeknownst to the civilians as multiple forces were currently in action just for one goal, Nico Robin. The last survivor of Ohara is the only person who can read the ancient language and the most important threat to the authoritarian fascist World Government.

Dragon was planning to go to the Moriarty family private port before the marines could arrive and ally with Nico Robin but he has faced a problem in his plans. He has underestimated his enemy because it seems like he was a tad bit late. The dock was littered with corpses of the Government agents and a masked man whose entire attire was drenched in blood sat on the pile of corpses as if it were a throne. Victor Moriarty, Sabo, and Nico Robin also stood calmly behind him as if they were waiting for his arrival.

"What is the meaning of this?" Dragon asked sombrely. Sabo had informed him about Victor and Robin's plans to leave BlackRock and he also knew that the government agents were currently hunting for her. He has planned and leaked this information to draw out Nico Robin from hiding inside the Moriarty Mansion. Victor Moriarty, Nico Robins's golden goose husband who was secretly the head of one of the richest underground organizations would be a valuable asset in the Revolutionary Army. His plan was simple, rescue both when they were in trouble and cash in the favour. Revolutionary Army couldn't run simply on grand ideals, they needed money to buy weapons, food, medical supplies, logistics, and for all those expenses they needed sponsors. They can't just loot and pillage like the pirates, most of whom don't have any morals. As for the emperors of the seas, they all have their own goals and dreams.

"Leader, I am sorry. I failed in my mission." He said with a sigh full of regret. Victor has shown him some long-forgotten memories using his second devil fruit powers that help him enter dreamscapes of anyone whom he has touched. Using his powers he had shown Sabo a few glimpses of the past where he had made a vow to become great pirates with his brothers as they shared their true dreams with three cups of sake.

"I want to become a ....."

That idiotic crackhead Luffy with his ridiculous yet inspiring dream which never failed to bring a smile to his face and his partner in crime and trusted friend Ace. With that all his memories before amnesia started rushing in. The place called Windmill Village in the Goa Kingdom where he was a part of the nobility. The dysfunctional family that wanted him to marry a noblewoman just to climb in status and how the nobility used the excuse of a World's Noble's visit to orchestrate the tragedy of the grey terminal.

"Welcome to BlackRock Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army." The masked man said in a cold voice. He slowly stood up and walked towards Dragon who was wearing a cloak as he released a whisp of his Conqureror's Haki that instantly knocked out Sabo unconscious.

"Who are you?" Dragon was shocked by the sudden turn of events. This man also has Conquror's Haki, the ultimate source of power that only a select few with strong willpower can possess. Since Victor had not yet gained finer control his Haki was full of raw bloodthirst which caused Dragon to flinch a little by the sudden display of power.

"I am just a concept and my goal is simple, Vendetta. It seems like you wanted to poach my subordinates so I think it's fair for me to do the same in return, isn't it Mr. Dragon?"

"Your subordinates??" Dragon widened his eyes when he realized its meaning.

"He's our Godfather, you can address him as the Mirage," Victor spoke from behind with a smile as he and Robin continued their act. "We are part of a shadow organization, The Phantom Club."

'The Mirage?? Phantom Club?'

"Miss Robin, I don't know what are your goals but I want to invite you to join the Revolutionaries." Dragon didn't waste his time since it has come to this situation and decided to come clean for his true goals. "Professor Clover was my close friend and I want to bring him and the innocent archeologists of Ohara justice. For that, we need your help and the knowledge of reading the ancient language to learn what the Government is hiding."

"Sorry, but I'd like to respectfully decline your offer as I am already a part of something bigger. Even though I respect your goals, I am not willing to sacrifice my freedom." Robin was a little disappointed when she learned the Revolutionaries were using children as soldiers too. She also wants a revolution but Dragon's path is bound to be filled with continuous bloodshed and sacrifice. What is the main goal of the Revolutionarys? Of course, it's to get their hands on the powerful ancient weapons. "Even though we have a common goal, I'd like to tread a different path that I believe in. Akatsuki is my answer and we will do things by our own rules."

"Do you think you can face this world alone?" Dragon said with skepticism.

"Ohhh Dragon!! Don't be so naive, what makes you think we are alone? Do you think you are the only herald of liberty?" The masked man mocked with a villainous laugh. "You don't even know who is your true enemy. You are fighting a ghost. The empty throne that you want to topple, do you really think the throne is empty?"

Dragon was a smart man and he instantly realized the implications of his words. He instantly grabbed his collar and shouted furiously, "Tell me everything you know RIGHTT NOWWWW!!!!" The throne is not empty??? This fact alone shattered his entire worldview. The World Government was formed after the 20 Kindom alliance defeated the evil ancient kingdom and established their rule after a pledge that they would prevent anyone from occupying the throne again. As a pledge, the rulers of 170 affiliated nations have to surrender a sword below the throne room in Pangea Castle to pledge to abide by this oath. Now you're telling me someone was sitting on that throne and no one in this world has any idea about it? Ridiculous.

"You are not ready but let me show you a glimpse. Don't resist." Victor wearing his raid suit removed his glove and slowly touched Dragon's forehead. [Dreamwalk] Suddenly he found himself in a dreamscape as he saw the massive throne room. A mysterious shadowy figure with ringed red eyes wearing a crown sat imposingly on the top of the world as the Five Gorosei knelt like slaves. He couldn't hear any words as the vision was just for a second but to him it felt like an eternity. His heart bit sped up and he had cold sweat dripping behind his back when the shadowy figure suddenly looked at him dead in the eyes before the visions came to an end.

"T...This... What do you want from me?" Dragon muttered subconsciously as he was left speechless when his morale took a hit. He felt rage, frustration, desperation, and most importantly, fear. Fear of the unknown. His father was the Hero of the Marines, he had also climbed up very high in its ranks so realizes the value of this information. He can bet for sure that even the Fleet Admirals Kong and Sengoku had no idea about this mysterious figure.

"Join Akatsuki! We have a common enemy." Victor who was standing in the back with his real face came to his rescue. All this elaborate planning was to negotiate on equal terms. He needs the Revolutionary to work under him and not the other way. As a true master of shadows who wants to unite this world and bring judgment on the sinners, he will need all the allies he can gather. So he will become a concept with no name, face, or identity. "The people shouldn't fear the Government, the Government should fear the people. This is our Vendetta. If you want a revolution, we will teach you to do it properly."

Dragon took a moment to calm down as he controlled his chaotic emotions. The Mirage and this shadow organization have indeed granted him a piece of very valuable information. He still didn't trust their words fully but the seed of doubt had been planted.

"What do I have to do?" He decided to take a bet, if there is indeed such a shadow organization he should infiltrate it and learn its true motives. He wouldn't trust them blindly.

"Marine Hero Garp and Admiral Kuzan will be arriving here in...3 minutes." Mirage said as he looked at his watch. "I'll offer you a deal you can't refuse."

One hour ago:

Spandine and Laskey along with his 50 government agents infiltrated BlackRock and started investigating about whereabouts of Robin. That's when their unit tapped into a den den mushi call between the revolutionary about Robin's plans of escaping through the Moriarty's private port located in a secluded corner of the island. Spandine, whose goal was to capture Robin immediately rushed towards that direction to hunt her down.

"Laskey, we must arrest her before the Syndicate notices our presence. Let's go."

"Don't you think it's suspicious that she chose to use the Moriarty's private port?"

"No, it's less suspicious since she thought we would only look for her in the deep sea main port. We wouldn't have known if not for the Revolutionary spy." They discussed as they moved swiftly towards their target using rokushiki.

"Kill the guards! No one should know about our presence. We will blame it on the revolutionaries and this will further their alliance with the World Government." Laskey ordered the men.

"Yes Boss!!" Everyone nodded as they spread out on the seaport to look for Robin. The place was eerily quiet with many huge steel containers. The sound of the lapping waves and birds could be heard as they entered deeper into the maze-like facility. Everyone moved silently in groups of two as they looked for any presence. Spandine and Laskey walked confidently while smoking cigarettes and guns in their hand.

Unbeknownst to them, a group of 10 masked figures watched all of this from the roof of the facility. They were equipped with modern military gear and gadgets, from their varying size it was clear that not all of them were humans.

"Leave the two tall ones for the master! Kill the rest." Daz Bones said coldly as he jumped off the roof and others followed as they also copied the skywalk. Victor had bought the rokushiki manuals from the black market and gave them to the elite unit to train.

"Hey, did you hear a movement?" One of the CP5 agents questioned as they stood among the mazelike structure.

"What are y..."

*Swishhhh clenchh*

They watched with wide eyes as a huge blade pierced both of their chests like butter.

"Ehh, just so so. My students in the Academy can do better." Daz said stoically as he deactivated his devil fruit powers and the two corpses fell with a 'thump'. After a moment of silence, he decided to take out a kitchen knife from his pocket.
