2 Ch2

"What? I just asked a legit question?" Dan said before he disappeared in a flash of light.

Looking at the place Dan was standing before, ROB muttered angrily, "and just for that, I will cancel his starter pack."

After a brief silence, a dark shadow appeared at his side. "Was this all really necessary?"

ROB looked toward the shadow and replied, "Yes, it was."

"But you don't have to create all this unnecessary drama. You could simply send him there."

"Perhaps..."

.

After being in this world, Dan appeared on a random island, still wearing the same clothes as before, as he looked around.

"Where the hell am I?" Dan said while yawning.

He was still extremely exhausted from all his work and wanted nothing more than to sleep peacefully. Still, he couldn't rest before finding shelter or a safe place as he didn't think resting in the middle of a forest, no matter how peaceful it looked, would be a good idea.

'System, open my starter package.' Dan asked, hoping to find something in it that would help him in this situation.

[Negative]

[No starter package found]

"WHAT!!!" Dan shouted in shock, which turned into disbelief as he couldn't believe that ROB had scammed him.

They clearly had a talk in which they decided he would at least gain a great quirk and basic supplies for living in his starter package.

Now he finds out that the bastard didn't even give him a starter pack, and he can finally understand why he readily agreed to his request.

'Why the hell am I even cursing him? He never said anything about a starter package. Only I was dumb enough to think he would give me one,' Dan thought with a somewhat calm mind after his burst of anger and frustration was over.

'First, let's get out of this forest,' Dan thought, as finding a place to rest was his first priority.

Looking at the sun's position, Dan can relatively guess that it is still some time before noon, which gives him a lot of time to walk in the light.

In One Piece World, almost all the land is an island, so if Dan moved in one direction for some time, then perhaps he could see the shore after some walking ... unless it was a very large or super large island.

'But I can't be that unlucky, right?' Dan thought in amusement while leaving shallow marks on the trees as he passed them.

It wouldn't do much, but it would at least keep him from diverting from his path.

And just like that, a few hours passed, with Dan walking on a seemingly straight path, but the forest didn't seem to end, as he was still walking across the trees with only a single thing that had changed.

Dan was much more tired now than before, as he couldn't even walk straight without the support of the trees.

"Just a little more, just a little more..." Dan chants as he continues to stroll in the hope of getting out of this forest.

After an hour more of strenuous walking, tired beyond recognition and extremely hungry, Dan finally saw an open cleaning with a strong smell of the ocean. Seeing this, Dan began to run toward what he assumed was the ocean, just wanting to escape the forest.

But surprisingly, Dan came across a cliff near the sea after crossing the woods.

"Fi...nally," was the only word that escaped Dan's mouth before he slums down on the ground completely unconscious.

.

"When is he going to get here, Gina?" Jenny asked as she looked at the time on his watch.

"I already called, and he said he was going to be here any second now, boss," Gina replied as she and Jenny both waited for Dan to arrive.

"So, what is his excuse for today?" Jenny asked while looking at the elevator door as if she knew he was going to come.

Gina laughed a little before saying in a severe tone, "This one is really wild, Boss, so you better hold tight. According to him, an Omnipotent being kidnapped him and threw him into a different world, where he woke up in a jungle full of deadly animals after walking for almost eight hours with little rest but no food and water. Still, he finally escaped the wilderness and proceeded to adventure across the world before becoming the strongest. Then Dan came back to this world, and now he is coming back here to work."

Jenny looked at Gina with a look that said, 'Are you serious, bitch?'

"Na, just kidding, that was the dream he had last night. He is late because he overslept, simple as that."

"That's an oddly specific dream, but whatever. Dan could be weird sometimes."

*Ding*

Just then, the elevator door opened, and Dan walked out of the elevator, still in his sleepwear pajamas and t-shirt, and walked into the office with a confused look on his face.

"Why are you all looking at me so weirdly?" Dan asked as he saw the look on all the employees present.

A frustrated look appeared on Jenny's face as she grabbed Dan's hand and pulled him to the corner where fewer people could see them. "Are you still in your sleep?"

Dan looked at her as if she had said something offensive. "What, no, I'm totally awake. Why are you ever saying it, Jenny?"

Jenny's frustration only further increased as she was really holding back her urge to hit this idiot. However, Gina came to her rescue before she could give in. "Because you are still wearing pajamas and a t-shirt at work."

Dan stopped after hearing her words and slowly looked down at his clothes.

He was still wearing the same dark green t-shirt and dark brown pajamas he wore when he went to sleep.

"But, how I clearly remember changing clothes before coming," Dan muttered in disbelief.

"Maybe you are still in a dream."

"Hmm! You are right, Gina. He is still dreaming."

"No, I am not!" Dan said as his back touched the wall.

"Wake up, Dan, wake up!"

"Wake up, Dan, wake up!"

"Stop, I am not dreaming. Just stop!"

But they both didn't listen, as they kept chanting the exact words again and again while slowly walking toward him.

Seeing they both are not behaving normally as they just keep on repeating the exact words, Dan makes a run from them as he dashes toward the elevator.

But the elevator was locked, and he couldn't open it. Just then, the chant Jenny and Gina had been repeating came from behind.

Dan slowly looked back and saw almost all the employees and co-workers walking toward him slowly while repeating the same words like a chant.

"Wake up, Dan, wake up!"

"It is just a dream. Wake up!"

"Wake up, Dan, wake up!"

"It is just a dream. Wake up!"

"Wake up, Dan, wake up!"

"It is just a dream. Wake up!"

Dan started to hit the elevator door with as much force as possible, wanting to escape this madness. Still, they didn't stop as they kept coming closer while repeating the same chant.

His hands started to bleed, but he didn't stop, all while the chant continued, but the volume kept increasing as time passed.

As he continued to try, his hands shattered at some point. However, the door didn't move at all. At the same time, the chants became so unbearable that Dan, after a long time in his life, finally pleaded for mercy.

"Please stop, please I don't want to go back."

As the chants continued, a distorted voice asked, "Don't want to go where?"

"Please stop, please. I don't want to go back to the forest, please," Dan pleaded while keeping his head down.

"Then wake up!" the distorted voice shouted, as ripples spread through the whole place before it began to dissolve into nothingness.

Before everything becomes black, the voice says, "Then wake up and find out because only then will you exit the forest."
