"Please stop, please. I don't want to go back to the forest, please," he pleaded while keeping his head down.

"Then wake up!" the distorted voice shouted, as ripples spread through the whole place before it began to dissolve into nothingness.

Before everything becomes black, the voice says, "Then wake up. Only then will you exit the forest."

"Wake up! Wake up!" a female voice said as she shook Dan's unconscious body.

She didn't know what had happened, but this person suddenly started crying while muttering phrases like, "Please make it stop!"

It all started on her evening walk. She found this man lying unconscious on the cliff. Seeing his terrible condition, she decided to get him some help, so she called some of his friends for help.

And after that, they brought that man to a doctor in town, who diagnosed him and said that he was only unconscious due to tiredness and hunger. However, the situation was still dangerous for him, as his body was much weaker than what should be considered healthy for a person of his age.

They are now in the doctor's clinic, where he was lying on the bed peacefully a few seconds ago. However, he is still crying like a baby and muttering stupid gibberish.

"Wake up! Wake up!" a female voice said as she shook his body.

Dan slowly opened his eyes but quickly closed them again because of the brightness of the light in his eyes.

The lady stopped shaking him as she saw him open his eyes and quickly rushed to call the doctor without waiting.

After a few moments, Dan heard the sound of multiple steps coming toward him. Weakly, Dan opened his eyes and looked in that direction warily.

Seeing this, the Doctor immediately said, "There is no need to stress, young man. You are safe now."

"Where, cough cough, am I?" Dan said while coughing dryly.

A female in a nurse uniform quickly brought a glass of water with a straw and helped him drink it.

"You are in the hospital, young man. You are safe here, so don't worry," the Doctor said in a gentle voice as he tried to calm Dan down.

After finishing the whole glass of water, Dan asked in a voice much better than before, "But how did I get here? The last thing I remember was..."

"The cliff, right?" the female in the room said, "Actually, I found you there on my evening walk. You were in such terrible condition."

The lady was an above-average-looking black-haired woman in her mid-thirties who gave a vibe that she would never hurt a single soul.

Noticing Dan looking toward her, the Doctor introduces her, "Young man, this is Miss Daisy, our town's most kindhearted woman, and she is also your savior."

Listening to his words, Dan's gaze softened a lot as he bowed his head toward her while saying, "Thank you, thank you. Without your help, I don't know what would have happened to me, so thank you for bringing me here."

Daisy shook her head after hearing his words, as she humbly replied, "No, no, don't say that. I am sure anyone would have done the same in my position, so don't make a big deal out of it."

"See, she is better than I said, right? Not only is she super kind but also so humble and down to earth." The Doctor laughed as if he had heard a good joke.

After that, he came closer to Dan and whispered in his ear, "But, just so you know, she is the one that paid your hospital bill."

The doctor began checking him to determine if he had another problem and whether he needed to stay in the hospital.

Seeing there was no problem with him after some sleep and food, the doctor agreed to discharge him.

After leaving the hospital, Dan and Daisy both walked out together, as she insisted on helping him out.

"So, do you have any money or a place to live, 'cause when I found you, you didn't have any other thing with you?" Daisy said as she led the way.

After looking at her for a moment, Dan replied, "No, I won't. My ship and all my items were destroyed in the storm. I don't even know how I got onto this island," Dan stated in a sad tone as he walked along the streets as if they were going to be his new house.

Hearing this, a sad expression appeared on Daisy's face as she thought for a moment before saying the thing she had in mind.

"If you are interested, I can give you a job and a place to live," Daisy offered while looking at him innocently.

"I don't know. As you saved my life, I am already in your debt, so taking advantage of your kindness will only make me feel worse about myself."

"Nonsense, you will not be taking advantage of anything. If anything, I would be one because I am getting a worker at a meager price, and just so you know, you will also have to pay the rent with the beri you earn from your new job, so it is alright," Daisy said while trying to sound like she was not helping him out of kindness.

Dan looked at her again and saw Daisy with a determined look that he was all too familiar with, and then he knew that she would not take no for an answer.

'What other job can I have right now? I don't know anyone here. I don't even have any money. Thus, she is the best option for me right now,' Dan thought with a calm mind. He also wanted to recheck his system but decided to wait until he was alone before doing so.

Dan laughed a little at her antics. "Then I will thank you for the job, Boss Lady."

Hearing this, Daisy clapped her hands and said in a cheerful voice, "That's great. Now, what can you do?"

"You hired someone without knowing if I could do the job?" Dan asked in an amused tone.

Thinking that he didn't have any valuable skills for any job, Daisy said, "I own a bar, so I am sure there is at least something you could do."

"Oh, don't worry. I am sure we will find something I am good at," Dan said in a cheerful voice after he heard that he was going to work in a bar.

After a few more minutes of walking, they both reached a good-looking bar with a sign saying Happy Hours. It was the bar Daisy owned and ran.

She also owns a two-story house right next to the bar in which he will also be staying with her from now on as she is renting him a room in it.

"So, this is your room, and I will give you your salary for this week beforehand, so you can buy some clothes and other necessities," Daisy said as she showed him a standard room with a bed, wardrobe, and a table and chair in one corner.

Looking at the room, Dan thanked her again for doing all this for him as Daisy left, but not before saying he would be working in the bar from tomorrow.

After being alone in the room, Dan finally turned his attention to his system.

However, something else caught his attention as he read through the skills section. 'What happened? Why are there only three skills now? When I checked it with him, there were a bunch of skills in it, but now only four remain.'

Hearing no reply, Dan asked, 'System, are you there?'

'Well fuck, but at least I tried.'
