Chapter 154

As the three of them were running towards each other, Robert suddenly split in half and formed two of himself. The two Admirals were surprised and immediately separated from each other by two kicks from the two Robert's. Robert1 went after Fujitora, and Robert2 went after Kizaru.

Robert1 created a death scythe in his hands and swung it at Fujitora, who managed to block it, but a shadow suddenly shot out of the scythe's tip, which Fujitora barely managed to block with his sheath.

Robert1 suddenly did a backflip and kicked Fujitora's sword up, making his right hand fly upward, giving him an opening. He immediately swung his scythe at Fujitora's chest.

"Clang!"

But the sound of cutting flesh didn't come. Instead, one of metal against metal was heard. Fujitora actually managed to bring his sword back to block before Robert1 could hit him. Robert1 didn't stop with one strike. He immediately went for another one and another. He kept striking at Fujitora, but Fujitora didn't move an inch or looked like he was having a tough time.

Fujitora suddenly swung his sword and clashed with Robert1's scythe. The moment they clashed, Robert1 immediately let go of the scythe. The scythe disappeared, and a giant hole appeared in the ocean below them. It was impossible to see how deep the hole was, but the hole got quickly filled up with the water around.

When Robert1 was about to think of what to do now, he suddenly sensed something and aimed his hand at Robert2, who was about to get cut in half by Kizaru. Robert2 suddenly dispersed into shadows and got sucked into Robert1's hand.

'Tsk, I couldn't even keep him busy for a minute. And I didn't manage to damage Fujitora. Am I really going to die here?'

"Even though your Devil Fruit is pretty strong, you're not a fighter. If it wasn't for your fruit, you would have been dead long ago," said Fujitora.

"Shut up! Didn't I say that there is no need for talking! So, shut up and let me kill you already!" screamed Robert with a smirk on his face.

High above the cloud is a tall man with white wings flying at a breakneck speed. He has a worried look on his face.

'What is going on for Robert to send an emergency signal? Luckily, I was closeby, or else he would have to face whoever he is against alone,' thought Laffitte.

Robert never was the fighter type. Captain knew that he didn't have the talent or the will to be a fighter, so he left him alone most of the time when he went to train his Devil Fruit instead of going to train fighting skills.

Laffitte suddenly stopped and looked down.

Robert looked up at Kizaru and Fujitora as he had fallen on one of his knees. The only thing holding him from falling down was a flimsy shadow platform that looked like it was about to fall apart at any second. Robert didn't look much better himself. He had long ago transformed back to his normal form, and his body is filled with holes and cuts. It looked like he was tortured.

Kizaru and Fujitora, on the other hand, were barely wounded. Except for the hole in Fujitora's left shoulder and a couple of minor cuts, they were both fine.

"Any last words, kid?" asked Kizaru.

Robert spits at his face, but he easily dodged it.

"This is why I hate pirates," said Kizaru as he aimed his finger at Robert, and a bright light started appearing on it. Robert could only look at the attack as he wasn't able to move and he was too exhausted to create a portal.

The bright light shot out of Kizaru's finger and went right for Robert's head. But Robert didn't close his eyes and just looked at the incoming light with a smile on his face.

"It was a fun ride, Captain and Laffitte. Thank you for everything," said Robert.

"You idiot."

Right at the last second, a white wing appeared in front of Robert's face and blocked the incoming attack.

"An angel!" screamed out Robert in excitement. But then he looked up and turned disappointed.

"What is that look for?" asked Laffitte with a smile on his face. But this smile looked too sinister to even be called a smile.

"It was nothing! I'm so glad that you're here! Thank you for saving me!" screamed Robert, but the next second he passed out, and the platform under him disappeared. Laffitte's wings disappeared, and he caught him before he could fall down. He looked at Robert with a relieved expression.

'Even though he looks bad, the bleeding has already stopped, and he hasn't lost too much blood. If I get him back to Deuce quickly, he'll survive,' thought Laffitte.

Fujitora was about to say something, but suddenly, a vast amount of killing intent fell on him and Kizaru, making him shut up and get ready to fight. However, Laffitte immediately turned around and disappeared from there with Robert. Fujitora and Kizaru looked surprised for a second, but they quickly ran after him.

Fujitora used his fruit on him and Kizaru to make them lighter and faster. They then started attacking Laffitte, but he easily dodged everything. Laffitte suddenly moved to the right, and the Admirals immediately changed course and followed him. An hour later, they could see an island. Laffitte ran into a village and jumped onto one of the houses.

"Not one step further," said Laffitte in a calm voice. "If you don't get out of here right now, I'll massacre this entire town."

Fujitora and Kizaru looked shocked. They had almost forgotten that they were dealing with a pirate. Laffitte took out a Den Den Mushi. The Admirals didn't dare to move hurriedly, so they also grabbed a Den Den Mushi and called the Fleet Admiral.

Laffitte looked at his Den Den Mushi as it got the same features as Deuce.

"Laffitte, did you make it to where Robert is?" asked Deuce.

"I made it an hour ago, but when I arrived, he fell unconscious. We're now at XXX island, and the ones that are after Robert are Admiral Fujitora and Kizaru," said Laffitte.

"Tsk, that's troublesome. But don't worry, we will be there soon. So wait there for us."

Laffitte and the Admirals hanged up their Den Den Mushi at the same time. Fujitora had a solemn look, making Laffitte think he had won this bluff. But what happened next shocked him.

"Amaterasu." Kizaru pointed his index finger at Laffitte, and a light beam flew out of it. Laffitte couldn't dodge it because he let his guard down, so he quickly hardened his wings with Haki and protected himself and Robert. The moment the beam hit his wings, it exploded, sending Laffitte and Robert flying back and destroying the house that Laffitte was standing on. He had previously sensed five people in there, but now he couldn't sense anyone anymore.

"Why did you attack? Didn't you sense that there were people inside?"

"Kill them no matter what. That is our order," said Kizaru.

"Sigh, I should have known better than to think that Akainu would care about the citizens."

"It wasn't the Fleet-Admiral who ordered us. It was the 5 Elders. The two of you are heinous criminals that need to be purged no matter what."

The citizen had all gathered outside to see what that explosion was about. When they heard what Kizaru said, they quickly grabbed their valuables and family. They started running away to the ships instead of getting angry.

Laffitte wanted to turn around and run away again, but when he turned around, he saw a tall woman with an unsheathed sword in her hand.

"Well, this is rather inconvenient," said Laffitte with a smile on his face.
