To The Rescue

"We're here, master Zoro, Dravde!" The pirates announce as we arrive at the docks of Orange Town.

"What's this...? The town is empty? I can't see anyone around..." Zoro wonders as we look at the completely empty and silent townscape.

"That's because these bastards are raiding this place as we speak. Do you think a forcefully pirate occupied area would be lively?" I question Zoro's intelect since I already told him that this place is currently used by Buggy Pirates as their base.

"We better beat that Buggy guy then. Luffy should be there too, right?"

"Yeah, in trouble, but otherwise fine and dandy. Remember to be careful of the tricks." I remind Zoro of our enemies' nasty tactics.

*BOOOOM!!!!* We see a huge blast that blows a number of buildings in a straight line.

"I guess that was the bomb you talked about. Well, now we know where to go." Zoro starts walking towards the area where the blast originated.

'I'm going to fucking die.' I'm rooted to the spot from the sheer terror of my current reality.

'That's only one bomb but its area of destruction is like an artillery fire I saw in the army.'

I watch as Zoro's figure becomes smaller and smaller while I stand there as my hands shake and legs feel weak.

'I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die.'

[I can finally die.]

Memories of numerous failed suicide attempts return to me as I watch my shaking hands...

But then I remember why I'm still alive...

'I gave up...'

Numerous failed suicide attempts that only made my life worse by each failure. Death by hypothermia, it was too slow, got bored. Now my body can't handle the cold. Death by hanging, neck didn't snap nor did I suffocate, breathing problems. Death by medicine overdose, body made me forcefully vomit, extreme sensitivity to foreign objects. Death by traffic accident, permanent minor to major pains on arms depending on overexertion.

Everything ended in failure and everything in my life got worse. So I just... gave up. Went on with my life. [Loser, failure, worthless.]

And so... I did it again... I gave up.

I started following Zoro. I took my rifle and loaded it.

'It doesn't matter. I'm gonna die anyways. Here, or in the next island or the one after that. Maybe even at the sea. It doesn't matter.'

I gave up.

But by giving up I could walk forward. Instinct guiding me towards my destination.

…

I've gotten to the roof of the building next to where everyone is located. Zoro has just saved Nami and is currently facing Buggy. Luffy is tied in a cage with a cannon facing him and definitely loaded with a Buggy Ball. I aim my rifle like I've been trained to and keep Buggy in my sights.

I can feel my heart rate increase as adrenaline courses through my veins. My focus gets a bit better but my hands are still shaking. I try to calm down as much as I can so that I can make a good shot.

'I only remember Zoro getting sneak attacked but how, I have no idea. The longest reach attack I remember Buggy having was his Bara Bara Cannon so I should watch out for that.'

Buggy starts charging at Zoro but gets cut to pieces and fall down, motionless. 'Feing Death, huh. I see what you are up to.' [Classic Hunter tactics]

Zoro looks puzzled as Buggy stopped moving but stays on guard thanks to my warnings before.

"So weak!" Luffy shouts in wonder as Buggy's grunts just laugh in the background.

*Bang* I shoot at Buggy's body but before the bullet hit, he splits more and starts to levitate to evade it.

"Who's the bastard that tried to sneak attack this great Buggy!" Buggy shouts his lungs out as he looks at me.

Zoro, Nami and Luffy look at Buggy in amazement as he reassembles himself.

"So, that's the power of Bara Bara no Mi." Zoro says.

"That's right! That's the name of the Devil Fruit I ate!! No matter how you try to slice me up, you can't because I'm a Splitting Human!"

"He stuck his body back together! I thought the Devil Fruit was a myth!" Nami shouts in shock like any commoner in East Blue in the similar situation.

"A Splitting Human? That guy's a monster!!" Luffy shouts in shock.

*SMACK* 'Says the rubberman.'

I take aim again and *Bang* shoot at Buggy but he evades again.

"Hey! Stop sneak attacking me when I'm trying to sneak attack!" Buggy rages at me as I fail to hit him.

"Hey, Dravde, sneak attacking is dirty!" Luffy shouts at me as I look at him like he is an idiot.

'The fucker wanted to sneak attack first you know?' I complain inside my head.

"Dravde? Where have I heard that name before...?" Buggy stops and mutters but then...

"You should fight the Big Nose fair and square!" as Luffy shouts that the pirates get shocked and Buggy stills.

"That idiot, he could've said anything but that!" Nami shouts in panic as she looks at what's going to happen to Luffy.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A BIG NOSE!" Buggy sends his hand holding a knife flying in high speeds towards Luffy's head.

"Luffy!!" Zoro shouts in panic but...

Luffy's figure can be seen biting down on the blade of the knife and breaking it.

"I'm gonna kick your ass!!" Luffy grins at Buggy tauntingly.

"GYAHAHAHA! Kick my ass? In your dreams! I'm gonna kill all four of you!" Buggy and his crew laughs at us.

"Everything's finished! We're dead!" Nami loses all hope.

"HAHAHAHA! Kill me my ass! Run away, Zoro!!" "What!?" Luffy laughs at Buggy and suddenly orders Zoro to retreat.

"He came here to save you and now you're telling him to run!? What about you!?" Nami shouts at Luffy's baffling order.

Luffy just grins and looks at Zoro until Zoro realizes what Luffy wants him to do.

"Roger." Zoro starts running towards the cannon while Nami looks at the situation in confusion.

Buggy fiercely tries to stop Zoro but I take aim once again.

'No guarantees that I won't hit Zoro so might as well miss on purpose.'

*Bang* I shoot a bit behind Buggy but enough to startle him and give Zoro some breathing room.

"Damn you! Stop shooting at me! You bastards, do something about him!"

Buggy orders his men but before they can do anything Zoro flips the cannon towards them and Buggy and his crew start panicking.

"Oi! Light it!" "Eh?" "Now!" "Yes!" Zoro orders the confused Nami.

As Nami lights the fuse Buggy shouts in panic "STOP IT!!!!"

*BOOOOOM!!!!* The bright blast of the cannon hits Buggy in the face and huge amounts of dust and debris flies in the air creating a smoke screen.

Zoro grabs Luffy's cage and forcefully lifts it and carries it to the house where I am.

"Okay, we got the idiot. Let's move." Zoro says to me.

"Let's get far away from here and find a place to rest and get him out somehow." I motion towards the stairs as Zoro keeps lifting Luffy who tries to wriggle out of the cage.

'I need a break.' *Sigh* [And chocolate] 'Fucking addiction.' *Le sigh*
