There stands Yanmei at the bottom of the stairs; Lanfen and Yu stare between Yanmei and Roulan, while the taller woman on the couch sits awkwardly.

She held the pillow that lay on her body tightly, grabbing her chopsticks back onto her hand and grabbing a piece of Dim Sum.

"What."

Lanfen started, her eyes widening slowly as she finally registered the scene in front of her.

"The."

Yu spoke, her feet scurrying towards Roulan as she looked at the taller woman with wide eyes.

"Hell!? You and Yanmei!?"

The two spoke, their fingers pointing between Yanmei and Roulan. The smaller, older woman went towards Roulan's side, throwing her the clothes.

"Change first; it's cold."

She said that at the same time, the microwave turned off. Yanmei smiled at the two, Lanfen and Yu before she went and grabbed the plate that had cookies and walked towards the kitchen.

The two focused their attention on the taller woman sitting on the couch, as she appeared to be wearing Yanmei's outfit of choice.

"Explain what's this?"

Lanfen said, her arms crossing on her chest as she taps her feet on the floor. Yu nodded, kneeling as she grabbed a piece of char sui.

The standing woman glares at her friend, who has char sui inside her mouth. Yu slowly closed her mouth, looking back at the glaring eyes of Lanfen.

"What's what?"

Roulan removed the pillow that lay on her body as she fully slipped herself onto the clothes. Yanmei went out of the kitchen with two more utensils and a plate of cookies.

"Let's eat first before anything, ok?"

She said, causing the two to sit down properly on the floor. Yanmei put the utensils in front of Yu and Lanfen with a smile.

She grabbed the fried rice and put some on Roulan's plate quietly as the two observed the couple.

She then put it down and grabbed some char sui, putting it on Roulan's plate.

Yanmei put it down on the table, her hand signaling the two in front of them to eat.

-

After an hour, with Lanfen helping Yanmei wash the dishes and Yu sitting beside Roulan as they watched television, it was finally time for the two to question them.

Roulan sat down on the floor, while Yanmei stood up. The taller woman tugs on Yanmei's shirt to invite the older woman to sit down.

"What?"

"You'll get tired."

Yanmei sighed and sat down beside Roulan. Their interaction was observed by the two on the couch, causing them to look at each other.

Yu quickly cleared her throat, grabbing the attention of the two on the floor as they waited for her question.

"Roulan, don't you like Huiqing?"

This question perked up Yanmei's ears. The older woman clenches her jaw, side-eyeing the taller woman beside her. Roulan smiled towards Yu before she looked down on her lap.

Her mind is traveling whether she should answer truthfully or lie to the two. But then, thinking about it, she shouldn't lie to her best friends anymore.

She'll only break their trust in that process. Roulan thinks of what to say to the two.

Yes, she likes Huiqing, but there's something that's stopping her from loving the woman. Her heart seems to beat towards the smaller woman as a friend.

If she did answer that, the two would ask if she loved Yanmei, to which she didn't know what to answer. Sure, she did have feelings for the older woman, but it's quite complicated.

She doesn't understand what to feel toward Yanmei. She sighs after a few minutes, confusing the three women who have their attention on her.

"I don't know."

"What do you mean by that?"

Well, rather than let the universe reveal anything, wouldn't it be better to reveal it herself? After all, this is the only way she can think of to pay back all of the lies she told them.

Lanfen waits for Roulan's answer to her question, but it seems as though the woman on the floor is deep in thought.

Could it be that it really is complicated for Roulan?

"I don't know; it's complicated."

"How complicated?"

Yanmei couldn't bear it anymore. She wants to hear the reason, but Roulan keeps stalling. The taller woman looked towards her, which caused her heart to shatter.

"Alright, let me give you guys some time."

Yanmei balled her fist, standing up before she left the apartment. Roulan didn't know what happened, but her hands tried to reach the older woman.

A slam of the door was heard around the apartment as Yanmei closed it hard. Yu and Lanfen look at each other, then at Roulan, before walking towards the taller woman's side.

Yu grabs Roulan's shoulder, turning the taller woman to face her as her expression lays a serious one.

"Tell us honestly, do you love Yanmei?"

"I don't know; it's complicated."

"What do you mean, Roulan? You're going to break those two."

Lanfen pushed Roulan, pushing the small coffee table away as she took Yanmei's seat beside the taller.

Roulan nodded, her hands reaching to her hair as she got a fistful of it. She couldn't think of what to say to the two.

"Be honest."

Yu said, her arms crossing on her chest as she looked at Roulan with blank eyes. The taller nodded, sighing as she didn't have any other choice but to tell them the truth.

"I don't know. I like Huiqing, but not to the point where I wanted her to be my partner."

Yu and Lanfen nodded, taking Roulan's answer as valid. They stayed quiet, letting the taller woman fix her thoughts.

"There's something about Huiqing that's pushing me not to like her as a partner."

"You felt that?"

Lanfen asks, her eyes widening as she looks towards Roulan and at Yu. She quickly held Yu's hands, asking the woman as well if she felt something different towards Huiqing.

"What's different? She's always the same."

"No, Yu. There's something about Huiqing; I just can't pinpoint whether it's good or bad."

Roulan said as she looked toward the two. Her eyes look towards Lanfen, waiting for the woman to agree to what she said.

"Right."

Lanfen nodded, agreeing with Roulan's statement. Yu looks at the two weirdly, judging them as she thinks back on their interaction with Huiqing.

"Anyway, how about Yanmei?"

"It's complicated."

"How so?"

"Yanmei, she's something. She's very different."

Roulan sat down properly, ready to tell the two everything that was happening between her and Yanmei.

"Yanmei is my wife."

Yu and Lanfen gasped at what Roulan said. They couldn't believe it because they recently met each other, or could it be that they knew each other all along?

"What the hell!? When!?"

"Remember the person I spelled with? Yeah, that's Yanmei."

"And?"

"And she asks me to marry her, then I don't have any other choice because..."

Roulan hesitates to say the word. She didn't want to reveal the reason, which was that she was scared of Yanmei's father.

But then she didn't want to lie to the two anymore. The information is very intimate; she can't reveal to anyone that she's married to the mafia's daughter.

Heck, even spent the night with the mafia's daughter.

So what should she tell her two friends?

-

"Yanmei, what are you doing here?"

Guang opened the door of her apartment only to be greeted by Yanmei. The older woman sniffs before walking inside Guang's apartment, and she sobs on the pillow.

"Hey, what happened?"

"I hate her."

"Who?"

Guang went towards Yanmei's place, rubbing the older woman's back as she was comforting her. Yanmei sat up from lying on her stomach, wiping her tears away.

"Roulan."

Guang sighs and shakes her head, not believing what the older woman said. Heck, she's telling the woman she should move away a little, but she's complaining that she can't cling to the taller woman.

Yanmei scoffs before she crosses her arms on her chest, glaring towards Guang, who's still shaking her head.

"I'm serious."

"And I don't believe you."
