Leaving everything

Arvin stared at his parents for a while then slowly took out his car keys and bank cards and put them on the table then he said firmly, "Dad, mom, you don't need to give me a day to think. I have already thought this through. I'll leave the mansion right now."

Tanya looked at Arvin speechless, she never thought her son could take any decision so decisively. She was happy thinking finally her son was growing up and acting like a man, but she wouldn't get soft and praise him for that. This time she has to be strong to let him grow. Therefore she kept her straight face and said, "Good for you, I would like to see how long you can survive outside without our support."

"I am sorry mom! All this time, I have been doing what you asked me to do. Now, for once I want to listen to my heart and do what I really want. Please, forgive me for being unfilial to you." Arvin looked at his mom and said seriously. He didn't know from where he got all the courage to say this to his parents. Perhaps after losing his love he realized the value of it and this love was giving him the courage to rebel.

"Arvin, I don't understand what you are running after?" Tanya said with creased eyebrows. She felt she couldn't understand her son's mind at all.

Arvin didn't answer instead he asked his mother calmly with a soft smile, "Mom, have you ever regretted marrying dad?"

Hearing this question Adam stiffened and looked at Tanya. Although they were a loving couple, but he didn't know if she ever regretted marrying him. So he was also looking forward to her answer.

Tanya was stunned, "No, why are you asking such a question all of a sudden?"

"You didn't regret it because from the beginning, you were in love with Dad. If you were in love with someone else would you be happy with Dad? Won't you regret marrying Dad instead of the man you loved?" Arvin asked softly.

Tanya became silent. It's true that she and Adam never had any restriction over their love and they got married at will so shouldn't Arvin do the same?

Adam sighed and said softly, "But Arvin, the person you love doesn't love you, then why are you still insisting on going after her? Jessica is a good girl and she loves you a lot, why don't you give her a chance?"

"Dad I never said Jessica was bad, it's just we are not compatible with each other. I don't love her and if I still marry her that won't be fair to her. In the future when I will not be able to give her what she deserved she will hate me. Instead don't you think she should find her own happiness?" Arvin said thoughtfully.

"But Arvin you don't get it. If Rika doesn't love you then what's the point of all this? Haven't you been chasing her since you two were in high school? Haven't you done enough crazy things for her already? Could you move her heart? Son, accept it, Erika never loved you so no matter what you do she will not be with you. Listen to us and get married to Jessica, you will fall in love with her after marriage." Tanya also felt bad for her son regarding this matter. She knew how much Arvin loved Erika but if Erika didn't feel the same way for Arvin what can anyone do about it?

"No mom, I haven't done enough. I never seriously chased Erika, I was a cowered and never had the courage to express my love to her. I just hoped she will understand it and be with me But this time I will do it right and I will try hard. Don't worry Mom and Dad, I won't embarrass you. I'll move out of the house and as for Uncle Murphy I will explain it to him myself and apologies for breaking the engagement." Arvin looked at the car keys and the bank card on the table. He was leaving everything here, he had nothing, at this point even Erika wasn't his.

"Arvin, do you think this is so simple? Are you crazy? For a woman, you even want to move out of your own house? You are so old but still haven't grown up." Adam said with an angry expression. He wasn't happy with Arvin's decision of moving out. He said that just to scare him but he never thought Arvin would actually decide to leave.

However, the next moment Tanya's words surprised both Adam and Arvin. "If that's what you want then leave, but before you do, leave your phone, and that expensive suit you are wearing. You can't forget who has been providing all the luxurious stuff to you, right?"

Tanya's words were cruel but she has made up her mind, if she wanted Arvin to be responsible and figure out his life, she needed to let him get out of his comfort zone. Until his back bumps into the wall, he will not understand the consequences of his childish actions.

Arvin didn't say anything he took out his phone from his pocket and took off his suit jacket then wearing a thin shirt he got out of the O'Neil Mansion.

As soon as Arvin walked out of the house Adam looked at Tanya worriedly and asked, "Wife, aren't we being a little cruel to him?"

"No, he needs to learn his lesson." Tanya lowered her eyes and sat down on the sofa calmly.

She blames herself for Arvin's this indecisive nature, she has always been fulfilling all his wishes and making decisions for him so he never learned to do things on his own and taking responsibilities for his actions. If she didn't let him go today he would always stay under their shadow. Tanya was a strong woman how could she see her son like that? She wanted her son to find himself and figure out what he really wanted. They will never abandon him but to make his foot stable on the ground, she had to take this step today.
