Twins are not the same person

The twins both hated and loved being twins. It meant that they always had a best friend and confident to always keep their secrets. However it also meant that they were constantly lumped together; mistaken for each other and thought of as one entity. They were two very different people who just happened to look like each other.

The first person to ever treat them as such was their babysitter Rena. She was ten years old when they were born and had watched over them since the first time their parents needed to go somewhere. Not many knew that the twins were adopted by their two dads.

But Papa was a surgeon and hardly got a day off and Dad was in the MC. Everyone had at least one parent in the MC if not both of them. But it was Rena who looked at them one day when they were seven years old and said something that made them in awe of her.

They were waiting to be picked up from school and once again they were lumped together to be partners for a school project. A fact they were clearly upset about. When seventeen year old Rena pulled up in rusty Ford pick up truck. She noticed their faces and correctly guessed what had happened.

So she did what she was good at: argued her way around whoever pissed her off to the point they were left spinning in circles and confused as all hell. It started with one magenta haired seventeen year old dressed in a black corset and matching black leather leggings and lace up boots and wearing a very annoyed expression.

They followed after her curious as to what she was doing as she stormed her way into their teachers classroom and then it was a grand spectacle.

"Excuse me are Lilly and Bella's teacher?" she asked sweetly....too sweetly.

"Who?" the teacher a middle aged balding man with wire rimmed glasses and stout belly looked at the raging teen confused.

"The twins! Lilly and Bella! They have names you dimwit!" she seethed at the man.

"Ah yes and who are you?"

"Their mother." was passed through her lips without a second thought and they blinked up at her. It was something they said within the walls of their home and with the rest of their family. They never said it in public or out loud to anyone else.

"Aren't you young to be a mother to seven year olds ?" their teacher sneered.

"How dare you assume a woman's age!" was the quick comeback and they stifled their laughter.

"What is your problem then? They are working together so it shouldn't be a problem. " their teacher was a whole level of stupid.

"How are the fuck are they suppose to learn social skills and gain friendships if you idiots wont let them work with the other children! Are you trying to make them socially awkward for the rest of their lives with no friends to be bullied by the other children!?!" she did not stop there " And for Goddess sake learn their fucking names! They are Lillian and Isabella; two very separate people not one single entity! Yes they are twins but that does not mean you can just write them off and not treat as their own individual person. Do you have any idea how damaging that is for children!?! How the fuck are you a goddess damned teacher if you don't even understand basic child psychology and the importance of early childhood development!?!"

The teacher clearly angered at being called incompetent was pissed. Rena did not give two shits what he thought and Lily and Bella were standing there jaws slack and eyes wide.

"How dare you tell me how to do my job! You insolent brat! Did no one teach you to respect your elders? I swear you kids are becoming more disrespectful"

"Respect is earned not a given. And you Sir have not earned my respect! And it's fine they'll be homeschooled from this day out anyways. I know the best home school community where they will grow and learn with other children. Good day Sir." She said it with a sneer and they followed her.

Turns out she was right. The Home School Community we got sent to was called COVE and there were children of all ages attending classes together. It was held within a huge church and classes were every Tuesday and Thursday. Classes started as early as 6 am and ended as late as 9pm.

Students were assessed and place in classes based on their intelligence not their age. Age meant nothing when the entire focus was on learning and progress. They had Drama Class; guitar, piano, and violin lessons; karate classes; art classes; boxing classes; and even a choir and dance classes.

All their teachers were professors from collages who took the time out of their schedules to teach us and we obviously paid them. Our week were filled with homework and extracurricular activities and field trips with the other kids. We learned more than we ever did in public school and we weren't ever bullied.

Sure we were a bunch of socially awkward kids with maybe too much freedom but it was like being in collage for your entire life. You built friendships that you never forgot and your older siblings would always come by to see you and no one cared as long as they didn't disrupt classes.

But Lily and Bella were happy and never forgot the day Rena stepped in and changed their lives forever.
