Get Tricked By Your Own Trick!
Adrenaline rushed through Zeus's system as he breathed in and out. The three figures moved slowly to encircle him, fearing that he might try to escape. Despite seeing this, Zeus didn't move an inch. For the first time since arriving in this world, Zeus was going to face a real battle. He didn't know what to expect, but he barely managed to keep himself from rushing forward immediately.
"Ah, fuck it." Zeus completely abandoned all his prior caution and sped forward like a beast, his fingers fidgeting at expectations. Activating Overlock at 10%, Zeus promptly appeared behind one figure, clearly startling him with his speed. Still, the man reacted promptly and did a few hand signs, causing a wall to sprout just in front of him.
Zeus didn't hesitate and immediately stepped back. As expected, another attack followed, as hardened spikes sprouted from the ground at the spot where had been previously. The ninjas didn't let Zeus take a breather. Feeling some vibrations in the ground, Zeus jumped upwards and hung on the tree, forcing the man who had budded from the ground to miss his attack.
"Interesting, so you all know techniques that control stone in some way," Zeus said, hanging on a branch with one hand, overlooking the battlefield. "Iwagakure it is then, right?"
His words seemingly struck a nerve and the man in the middle attacked. He threw a few shurikens his way, which then multiplied and became an uncountable number. Zeus activated the overlock at 15%, exploding from the spot and appearing in a different place. However, the ninjas have already gotten used to his speed, as they changed their body direction instantly.
Before Zeus could take another step, he suddenly felt like the land beneath had gotten soft. His feet started sinking in rapidly and trying to escape was nothing but a futile attempt. Two of the men rushed towards him, while the third one at the back was clearly the one responsible for this jutsu.
The two ninjas sliced Zeus in two, but he suddenly exploded into a puff of smoke. Before the two men could react, Zeus was already upon the third one, flying towards him from the trees above. Still, the ninja managed to react in time as he raised his head and grabbed onto a kunai.
Despite that, Zeus had a huge smile on his face. While in the air, Zeus extended both of his hands in opposite directions. Once he reached an even closer distance between them, Zeus pushed chakra toward his hands and clapped them together.
An earth-shattering sound echoed throughout the forest. It was so loud that everything seemed to stop for an instant, as the two ninjas hurrying toward them stopped in their tracks. The one who suffered the most was the man below Zeus, who dropped the kunai to the ground and was holding onto his bleeding ears.
While the enemy was still in a disheveled state, Zeus rushed towards him and grabbed the kunai from the ground. With not a speck of hesitation, Zeus penetrated the kunai deep into the enemy's skull, causing some blood to get on Zeus's face.
The robe unveiled itself from the man's body, revealing an older man with a sharp dark beard. Judging from his attire, he was indeed from the Land Of Stone. Seeing a dead man lying beneath his feet, whose hot blood was spreading towards his bare feet, Zeus felt a rush of adrenaline.
Yes. That was the feeling he had been seeking so much. A battle with an unknown outcome. A battle testing the guts and determination. Grabbing the kunai from the man's face, Zeus looked back at the two figures standing there. They were still clearly quite distracted from the earlier attack, and that was for a reason.
It was another technique that he had created some time ago. By spreading lightning over his palms and clapping them together at extreme speeds, Zeus could create an earth-shattering noise. It was loud enough to cause all human senses to go fray.
Zeus smiled deeply, his white hair going sideways due to the wind, as blood dripped from his chin. Reaching with his hands, Zeus took out the grass he had stuffed into his ears, scratching them from the inside a bit. "You are all quite good and your chemistry is unmatched, but you know what your mistake was? You underestimated me too much...and now you will have to pay for that."
"Amayama..." One of the men took a step forward, his voice in disbelief when looking at the dead body of his friend. However, he was stopped by the other figure.
"Get yourself together if you want to stay alive. This kid is dangerous." The other man answered, his voice orderly. So, he was the leader and probably the one who knew how to do genjutsu. "We have to finish this promptly if we want to get out of here. Others have probably heard that bang and are rushing here."
The leader removed the cape covering his face, revealing a clean-shaved face and mature features. Then, he put his hands downwards, as the ground moved according to his will and covered his fists in boulders. The other man did some hand signs and put his hands on the earth.
"What else are you going to show me?" Zeus mumbled, jumping from the ground before it softened once again. However, to his surprise, a huge single spike emerged from the ground instead, prolonging towards Zeus at an incredible speed.
Forced to make a quick decision, Zeus bounced from the tree, going in a different direction. However, a single shuriken had already been thrown in that direction, flying straight at his face. Thankfully, Zeus was able to twist his head in time, and the shuriken flew past him. Yet, he suddenly felt immense danger.
The shuriken suddenly puffed into smoke and Zeus saw a boulder-covered punch bolting toward his face. Faced with death right before his face, Zeus didn't panic. He twisted his body in the air, activating the overlock to the fullest of his abilities.
The punch collided with his left hand instead, sending him flying toward the ground. His back collided with the tree, breaking it in half as he continued to roll on the ground. His sight blurred for a moment before he raised back to the ground, feeling the tremor in the ground again.
He hopped onto a tree and landed on top of a branch, looking at his two enemies. Blood dripped from his hand, as he no longer felt any connection to it. It had turned completely useless. However, Zeus's reaction was completely different than it should have been.
"It has been long since I have felt pain, or even more seen my own blood," Zeus said in wonder. However, the pain was overshadowed by the adrenaline. His father had been the last person to have injured him. It felt nostalgic, for some reason. "That was a nice combination, fellas."
"You freaking monster." The man who had punched him said as he landed on the ground. On his face, there was a deep cut made by Zeus's kunai. "Just what did you eat when you were a child?"
"Mostly, chocolate. That's some good stuff." Zeus answered, rising back to his feet. His whole body screamed with exhaustion and pain, but Zeus didn't care. Suddenly, a layer of lightning covered Zeus's kunai. "Overlock, 20%."
He once again appeared before the man and this time the enemy had been genuinely not expecting such speed. The man put his hands upwards, covering his head from being severed. Yet, Zeus didn't attack the man, instead promptly changing direction towards his subordinate. He had long ago noticed that the guy was low on chakra, and was basically defenseless.
Everything happened in an instant, and Zeus severed the subordinate's head with the kunai, sending it rolling on the ground.
It was a relatively young man, but he couldn't tell how old exactly due to the extensive amount of blood. Turning around, Zeus stared at the man whose hands have lost their protection. The man's eyes shook, staring at Zeus's soaking bloody hair and devilish face.
"Where is your previous vigor, friend? Come at me." Zeus said, yet rushed forward instead. They engaged in a close combat battle, with the man being unable to react in time to incoming strikes. Barely keeping himself alive, the man disappeared into the ground, emerging only a few feet away.
Zeus threw the kunai towards him, which he dodged by rolling his body sideways. Yet, smoke exploded from behind him, and the man felt pain in his chest. Looking down, the man saw his own heart being held by a small, innocent hand. "Man, you really fell for your own trick?"
These were the last words the man heard before falling onto the ground.
