Chapter 17

Returning home with his sword, there wasn't much time left for the day, and this planet's nighttime was a lot scarier than its daytime

Since trees already block most of the light during the day, during the night it was pitch black unless he found higher ground with a lot fewer trees or the grassland he was at before. That was not an option though, since he can't outrun dinosaurs all he could do was take cover whether upon, behind, or in case of these humongous trees within it.

Fares didn't sit by idly, since he wasn't tired at all even though he hadn't slept at night. According to Azkar that was normal, the longer one cultivates the less they need to sleep, they could just absorb energy from the surroundings instead to nourish the body.

As for Fares, he was already a soul without a body, so he just needs to absorb Dark energy to sustain the necessities of a human body, of course, he can sleep, but then it'd just be an extravagance.

He went to Azkar and asked him many questions about cultivation and the monsters in this world, around nighttime, Mona woke up, she came out of the room rubbing her sleepy eyes, she smelled something delicious.

Fares was cooking some meat that was at a corner in the house hanging with the help of tree stems. He didn't use the Mossè since he didn't think Mona's little body could handle energy like that yet.

She tried to steal a bite before it finished cooking, but Fares slapped her hand away, making her pout in frustration.

When he finally served the food, she didn't wait for him to cut it into pieces and went directly into action, using her hands and mouth directly.

Too bad for her though, she burned her hands and tongue in the process and kept blowing air onto them to ease the burns.

Fares and Azkar laughed at her, and when she had tears in her eyes, they stopped and cut a huge piece for her and placed it in front of her on a stone tablet.

After dinner, Mona fell asleep again from overeating, Fares had already expected this outcome from her low cultivation base and by how much she ate.

He put her to bed for the second time this day and went to ask Azkar to teach him their language.

Surprisingly, Fares picked up a lot of words in this one setting. If normally he'd need 2 weeks to memorize and learn a different language on earth, he only needed a few hours now.

It was a huge leap, not only because Fares understood and could memorize the language better, but also because he understood what he needs to unlock next in his cultivation.

He found multiple clogged areas like the one in his brain, but he chose this one on a hunch.

Fares also asked Azkar a lot of questions about cultivation, apparently when they cultivate they absorb energy into their body and coagulate it into a sphere in their dantian. That's why whenever their cultivation increases they need even more energy to fill the enlarged surface area of the sphere.

When cultivators want to use their energy, they force it to leave the sphere, but the sphere doesn't reduce in size as it has already expanded its dantian.

The incantations help attract more dark energy, they usually cultivate a lot and eat less even when food provides more energy because it puts them to sleep wasting a perfectly good amount of time to cultivate normally.

After even more questions, Azkar had enough of it. He wanted to help Fares, but he kept asking too many questions he didn't have an answer to, and as the most knowledgeable one in the village it was embarrassing for him.

So he took to a corner of the room and started to cultivate.

When Fares saw this, he laughed awkwardly and took out the sword, examining it. Different from Zena's knife, this sword's edge was actually, but he still wondered how Zena could cut something as big as that swiftly?

Thinking about it, Fares could only come out with one answer… Dark energy. If there was one thing in the universe that's mysterious it had to be Dark energy.

When he was cultivating the Mossè he established a pathway for the energy to pass through within his body, the same pathway the blood vessels took. This time, however, he extended that pathway a little so that it could cover the sword.

As he did so, the blade began vibrating slowly then quicker until the vibrations were too much for his hands to handle, and it fell from his hands stopping immediately when it broke free from his energy.

'Vibration! Of course, that's it.' Fares thought with a wide grin on his face because of solving one of the many mysteries he had.

Energy usually excites atoms, now for gaseous objects, when it gains energy its atoms move way too quickly that it either dissipates far away till its energy became lost or hits another atom passing on the energy.

As for liquids, it either turns to gas or rage uncontrollably on the surface of boiling water.

Solids were a bit special though since it has more tightly packed atoms it needs tonnes of energy to turn it to liquid. If the energy didn't reach that high it could either break apart or it would vibrate this way. Now multiply all of this by many folds since even the tiniest bit of dark energy if not controlled can break solid mountains.

It had been said that if any object vibrates enough, it could cut through hard steel as if it was a hot knife cutting through butter.

Luckily Fares had an extremely durable weapon if he didn't he would have said goodbye to his weapon on his first try. Normally one wouldn't expose their energy directly into their weapon, and would only use small amounts.

When he was experimenting he didn't account for this, which was a mistake on his part.

Laughing sheepishly at himself, he grabbed his sword again and injected energy again. This time though, he did it gradually, it was too low in the beginning that he didn't even feel the change in the sword, but after increasing it more and more he started feeling the vibrations. When it reached what he felt was perfect for it to cut even stone he stopped.

He stayed at this energy level for a while more, trying to engrave the feeling, of feeding this exact amount of energy to the sword, into his brain.

After a few trials of stopping his energy flow to the sword and supplying it again, he got the hang of it.

When he finished what he deemed to be of utmost importance, he decided to sit down and cultivate using the incantation Azkar told him about. It was easy for him to memorize an incantation, especially with his breakthrough.

He had a few busy days ahead of him, he had to be as prepared as he possibly could.

I know there isn't much action in this chapter but it needed a filler for readers who may find it confusing, sorry guys but it'll be more fun next chapters hopefully.
